A visit to Sri Lanka is never complete without a tour to a wild life sanctuary. Out of the many wild life parks it has to offer its visitors, Yala National Park situated in the deep south of the island is a must visit. Abundant with wildlife, where the majestic Sri Lankan elephant still reigns supreme and the ever elusive leopard, in its graceful elegance, tip toes its way to a hunt or to quench its thirst at its favourite water hole. Experience Sri Lanka’s big 5 from the corridors of their habitats and listen to the music of the birds on the canopy above, and hear the animal calls as you were among them, sharing their space. Yala is a park that has to be experienced from within. At Wild Trails we offer you an experience; a camping facility with luxurious accommodation, unforgettable hospitality and a sumptuous array of food and a tasteful collection of spirits and wines.

Wild trails is by far the best experiences we have had while visiting Yala. From the moment we were welcomed to the premises with warm smiles by a very attentive staff we knew we were up for the treat of our lives. The location of Wild trails is extremely convenient. Situated about 20 minutes from the main entrance of the park and away from the main hustle and bustle, you get the feeling of seclusion and absolute peace and quiet once you are here. The food was simply amazing. We were served Sri Lankan and western dishes and were absolutely thrilled at the culinary perfection catered to the delight of our tastebuds. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. They were attentive and ensured our every need was met. They even arrange the safari. They have partnered with some of the best drivers and trackers in the area and you can be sure you are in for a treat once inside the park. The highlight of our stay was one of the dinners that was served outdoors. We were greeted by a bonfire crackling warmly, right next to a well-appointed dinner table where we were served some of the best Sri Lankan cuisine underneath a starry night. The whole scene was breathtaking, like something out of a story book. The accommodation was excellent. The rooms are located separately with little pathways leading to them, giving us a sense of seclusion from other rooms and guests. The rooms and bathrooms were well appointed, and we felt so relaxed indulging in the comfort of our room after a long day’s safari in the park. All things considered; we had the best time of our life at Wild Trails. When you hear the term “Glamping” it makes you think twice as to what you are getting into and if the place you are going to can meet your expectations of safety and comfort all the while giving you the feel of being in the middle of the wilderness. To that extent, Wild Trails does not disappoint. You can be sure that we will be visiting this gem of an establishment without any hesitation. For those of you reading this review, take my word. Go visit Wild Trails and you will understand how awesome a place this truly is, and you can be sure your visit to Yala is truly memorable.

This place has everything to be super. The location is very nice and the rooms are just above the water. But the whole place looks outdated and not clean. The food is very poor but tasty. Staff is very friendly.

My friends and I experienced the best two days in our lives, it was indeed a 5 star treatment in the middle of a jungle, "Wild Trails Yala" THE place to be if you are planning to visit Yala. Loved the surroundings, the tents, the supportive and friendly staff and the amazingly scrumptious meals, we requested Sri Lankan for lunch and breakfast. That Milk Rice... was the best I have ever had, the young cook did justice to all the dishes he prepared while we did justice by consuming all that with zero waste. :))) The soup which was served before the BBQ on the night of the bonfire and the other meat, Seafood and the boiled vegetables were well marinated and it was out of this world. Kudos to the young chef. Us being foodies he made our stay extra special. The glamorous tents had everything you find in a 5 star hotel cozy room with a spacious bathroom. I didn't feel I was in a camping tent until I woke up the next morning to the buzzing and thrilling sounds of the birds. The management organized a wildlife safari on both days, Saturday evening and Sunday morning, Jeep arrived on time, driver Thushara and trekker Nandana did their best to show us as many wild animals as possible. Super glad it was a mosquitoes free zone... It indeed did justice to its name, glamping experience " glamorous camping" , fell in love with it and cannot wait to visit again. Loved the whole experience.

Very disappointed with the owner Milind (Mili). While booking it was all proactive approach but once we reached it was a little different story. Management hasnt really invested in keeping the property upto date. AC were leaking which was repaird (we had to wait for a couple of hours), shower wasn’t functioning & imagine taking a bath under the shower which had 4 drops coming at you after jungle safari. 1 towel provided between three of us (later he got 2 more). Staff really went out of the way to make us feel comfortable. Food was good. More focus from management would help otherwise this place is quite run down. Full marks Goushi who engaged with us and coordinated to make our stay as much comfortable as possible within limited infrastructure. Domit was the other guy who really was very nice. The other side of hotel which Wild Trails by Suri has much better rooms. Kitchen, dining n service staff is common for both hotels

Amazing stay ! We had the best time of our holiday at Wild Trails Yala. Wild Trails Yala and Wild Trails by Suri are two different camps. We stayed at Wild Trails Yala and not at the other camp. Yohan the manager/ranger At Wild Trails Yala looked after us from the time we checked in. The safaris were guided by Yohan and had the pleasure of seeing two Leopards and also Elephants along with a lot of bird species. The tents are big and spacious with an attached bathroom and each tent is isolated from another and surrounded by lush vegetation The dinner under the stars were amazing. Mili the owner was very prompt in answering all our correspondence and was very helpful in organizing our transport to and from camp. Highly recommend Wild Trails Yala.

Perfect stay in the middle of the bushes, The tents are very luxurious, much better than the ones I have stayed in Kenya or Tanzania. Dinner and breakfast was yummy, bush fire in the evening was very relaxing. Also, the manager is so helpful in every sense, my specials thanks go to him. Highly recommended if you re staying in Yala.

Located in the buffer zone forest around Yala, the Wild Trails camp provided the wild atmosphere and environment that my daughter and me really hoped for. Ranger Yohan and his safari topped our experience through a late afternoon close-up wildlife encounter with two magnificent leopards, on a day when very few other jeeps saw any. Yohan had guaranteed we wolud see elephants and crocodiles in advance, but also leopards — because, as he said, “you are going with me, not another random guide…” An experience of a lifetime.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a great experience. The rooms are very spacey and definitely „glamorous“ for a tent, so that you feel 100% comfortable. We went on two safaris, one with Yohan from the Hotel and one with another company. Definitely decide to go with Yohan, since he is very keen with the animals and can explain you a lot about the national park (which is not standard when you book a safari in Yala). Also, he takes roads that don’t have so much traffic so that it feels like you are the only one in the park :) The staff is very welcoming, helpful and always engaged to make your stay as convenient as possible. This place is in the middle of the jungle, so if you expect hot water, Wi-Fi and other things you may be disappointed. Nevertheless this also means that you have animals all around you, get woken up by the sun and singing birds and will be able to completely relax, which is so much more worth. Overall we hat a great time at Wild Trails and recommend this place 100%.

Had a fantastic two-night stay. The tents were spacious and luxurious. The authentic Sri Lankan meals were the best we had in a while. The staff were excellent and very welcoming. On the safari, we saw a leopard, elephants, Jackal, Deer, and many bird species. The bonfire dinner under the stars were on top of the rock and was so romantic. The air conditioning was switched on from 10. 00 PM to 6.00 AM. The location of the camp was in the middle of the jungle and wonderful glamping experience. Highly recommend Wild Trails Yala. Stayed: 20th to 22nd September 2022.
