We stayed here only one night. It is one hour drive from FCO Airport. The service was very good. They showed us around the hotel and served us some drinks before getting into the room. The massage was great. But I felt I cannot stay too long in this hotel. It will be boring. The food was okay but not great.
We had stayed here for one night and really enjoyed it. The staff is very professional and helpful. The room is clean and comfortable. The breakfast is incredible. We also ate there for dinner and of course it’s really good. It’s definitely quite an unique place to stay in Italy. Strongly recommend this beautiful hotel.
"Simplicity is the last level of sofistication." As Leonardo Da Vinci said, and the chef-hoster Antonello Colonna up dated with a super experience at Vallefredda. Their website represents all you gonna live when staying at It, but it's much better. A luxurious, though casual experience. Yet makes it a resort-hotel to call home. Only 12 rooms, great staff, Mr Colonna, is available to greet guests. Unique location and perfect for a two days experience, just 50 mim from Rome. Enjoy it! You love to come back, I'll will.
A beautiful and elegant small hotel about 50 minutes drive from Rome. Best feature of hotel really is the staff (reception team is wonderful) and the excellent chef in charge who is producing wonders. The hotel you should know is in a remote location so not a lot of interest to drive to (say similar to tuscany), so the objective should be to relax for 2-3 days tops. The hotel has an outdoor pool at the roof of its structure, an indoor pool (albeit a bit dark and in need of natural light), and a small spa. Rooms are fairly modern and full of light with ceiling to floor glass windows. No gym or fitness room at this facility though. Free parking is provided, Wifi connection especially in rooms is on the poor side. I understood kids below 10 years old are below the minimum age for guests. A final light hearted note to guests from overseas would be this - this hotel is extremely pet friendly - they allow guests to bring their pets into common areas and rooms and the hotel keeps a few around site, so raising that in case that bothers you in anyway (Most of hotel clientele are italians and they didnt seem to mind the dogs barking from one room!). Beautiful place would visit again.…
This resort is really perfect in every way. If you like minimal design and quiet chic places with food out of this world then you will find it here. We spent the weekend there and from the rooms, the spa, the pool and the amazing staff it was just perfect. Antonello the Chef/Owner is top of his craft and has created a menu Gourmet that is just fenomenale. His attention to detail and amazing taste in every way makes this report top of the list. We will be going back as soon as possible. Thanks to all the staff again for their hospitality. See you soon. Grazie a tutto lo staff.
My husband and I ended a 3-week European vacation by staying one night at Antonello Colonna Resort & Spa. What an experience this place was! We visited during off season; I think there was one other couple at the resort. Our room was spectacular! The views were as if we were looking at pictures. Everything was so modern, but also very cozy. In the spa we had a couples massage, which was great, and then had the spa all to ourselves. It was amazing and much needed after all of our travels. We also did the chef's tasting for dinner. That was the most unique and delicious dining experience we have ever had! We had perfectly paired wines with the several courses that we ate, and were filled to the rim with amazing, amazing food. We were so happy that our room was just down the hall from the dining room because we had a lot to eat and a lot to drink! Breakfast was another beautiful feast! There were so many options and it was just the two of us eating! What an experience! Everyone at the resort was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend staying here, and don't be like us and stay one night...book two or more nights please! The grounds were beautiful but we didn't get to explore them because we didn't have enough time. We would definitely travel back to Italy just to go here.…
Great location, great architecture, great friendly staff, great gastronomy within the hotel; cannot ask for more for comforts in a Mid Century design. Staff are efficient and friendly, hotel spaces are enjoyable to experience, and also surrounding countryside. Dinners are a gastronomic experience, both for the tongue and for the eyes. Owner and chef greets during dinner. Memorable and astounding fresh breakfast too. Spa is great to enjoy. We went for the winter months, and we loved the ambiance. Summer should be another experience.
Stayed for four nights in this great place. Modern minimal architecture in a bucolic landscape is the first thing you see at your arrival. It may look cold from the outside. However once you enter the premises you wil be overwhelmed by how "cosy" modern design can be. The rooms are extremely well conceived with a spacious bathroom and direct access to the garden and pool area. The gastronomic restaurant and the bistrot offer such tasteful and Creative dishes that have made our whole stay unforgettable.!!! we'll be back!!
I thought I didn't like 'modern' but I loved it here. I loved the contrast of the big concrete building sitting on the green grass beside a plowed field and a vegetable garden with board walks running through, and the lawn speckled with small groupings of furniture. I loved the huge rooms that make up the hotel - very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. There are little places to sit and relax in front of a wood burning fireplace or looking out a massive floor to ceiling window. The doors are all massive and take a bit to figure out - the staff are very helpful with these. Overall the staff are fabulous, friendly and helpful. Our room was gorgeous, comfortable and large. It had a huge floor to ceiling window (with black out blind and sheers) and a private door to outside. The bathroom was HUGE and was probably the best hotel bathroom I've ever had the pleasure to spend 3 days and nights - sweet joy and with good toiletries, too. The linens and towels are superb quality, the bed so comfortable. They give nice terry bathrobes to borrow and spa slippers to keep. The spa areas are dark which at first I didn't like but then found it to be very relaxing and quiet so I see why they do it. We had no-charge access to the indoor warm pool, hamman wet sauna, a very hot dry sauna, a few fancy shower stalls and relaxing areas with hot tea selection. There was also a roof top outdoor pool (not heated). There was evening room service for fresh towels and glasses. One chilly evening they built us a fire in the lobby room even though we were the only guests - it was lovely. The breakfast was wonderful; a lovely Italian buffet with style. We ate dinner in the restaurant one evening and had the tasting menu one day at lunch; both were wonderful, highly recommended (see separate review). Few negatives: No toiletries replacement during our 3 night stay, a bit dark in areas, could have been given more information upon check-in (i.e.: what common areas we can use, what outdoor areas are available, just little things like that). The room window was covered in condensation each morning which dripped down and puddled on the floor sill - a problematic design flaw. The check out staff were very pleasant except they had a connection issue with the credit card machine but thought it was a problem with my credit card causing me to unnecessarily phone my credit card company in North America when there was no issue with my card at all. Overall we loved it - we were sorry to leave.…
Advertises as a 5 stars Resort. And it delivers in full. An eccentric yet super luxurious construction that would perfectly be at ease in a Scandinavian country, placed in the middle of sweet countryside just 20 minutes from the buzz of Rome. The architectural masterpiece is to be appreciated on a long weekend, alternating large spaces scattered with vintage Nordic design furniture, 12 rooms, a well conceived spa, and a pool on rooftop. In the heart of the building a Michelin * restaurant with flawless service awaits. Breakfast is top-notch. Planning a 10 days' holiday in Rome? Spend a couple here.
