We stayed 2 nights at Yabelo Motel. To give context I have to say that the entire area was suffering from electricity shortage and blackouts. The motel has a generator but because of the high price of diesel, they switch it on only at 7pm. This means there's no hot water, though this is no great loss given that it's... More

This hotel has a classic Bekele Mola style, with a series of rooms around a nice central garden. The rooms are ok, considering what one can expect from South Ethiopia. They have king size bed, mosquito net and hot water. There is no WiFi. The price is however very high for what is offered: 930 birr/night is really ridiculous. We... More

Very basic room with a strong smell of sewage from the bathroom. Room and bathroom not clean. Bathroom was in a very bad state , only cold water. Dinner was not warm, at breakfast eggs and tea also not warm enough. Try to find another place

Stayed here as part of an organised birdwatching tour of Ethiopia. All the rooms are on the ground level and are of a good standard and spotlessly clean. Our meals were taken in the hotel restaurant, breakfast consisted of table service of Porridge (poorest quality of the whole tour), Omelette or Pancakes, fruit juice tea or coffee. Evening meals were... More

We stayed here for 2 nights on our Ethiopian wildlife tour. On arrival we were allocated room 1, next door to a noisy TV and pool room. We went straight back to reception to ask to be moved because of the noise. We were told the place was full, which didn't seem true, and the pool room would be closed... More

Driving around Africa, you end up in a lot of towns with virtually no accommodation options, The Yabelo Motel was a welcome find. The rooms are basic, clean, with TV's, there is parking, a restaurant and bar. The Motel offers different priced accommodation to suit most budgets. There is no other option in town, but this is not a bad... More

Two courtyards one enclosing the restaurant and game room - lower price ($45/double), the other has the parking lot ($65/double). Crazy expensive and yet we didn't want to hear the pool table all night so we paid up. (One other option for those with their own tents near the parking area although I don't know the price). Our first room... More

One can't complain too much if you're in one of the most remote spots on earth and the motel is a dump, but that's what the Yabello Mobile Motel is. Yabello is a filthy beyond compare crossroads in the middle of nowhere. The motel has rooms that are basic, fairly clean and the food is so so. There was a... More

I stayed in this hotel based on what I had heard from other foreigners and the reviewers that this is the only half way decent hotel in this remote town. Totally wrong. The hotel is actually far worse than what some of the reviewers had indicated. No screens. Run down toilet. And at $40 per night, it is EXPENSIVE by... More

Very basic room where the mosquito net did not fit very well and had lots of holes in it.. Nice courtyard with lots of birds in the trees . The shower was hot. There was even a TV in the room. The bed was comfortable. The food available was basic but one must remember what country you are in.
