Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa is a “must visit” Maldives destination, a simply outstanding resort, first class hospitality with exceedingly high standards for even the smallest details !
I have visited many resorts in the Maldives and so consider myself a seasoned repeat visitor, and after visiting Emerald Faarufushi in February 2024 was completely blown away after having such an amazing experience and vacation !!
Over Water Villa With Pool Absolutely amazing water villa and the best that I have had the pleasure to stay in. Cleaned to a very high standard daily. Irman my room boy was fantastic and decorated my bed on a few occasions, he has a wonderful skill in calligraphy writing which he used in the bed decorations. Room includes an all inclusive mini bar and snacks which is replenished daily. All villas have added benefit of bikes to cycle around the island which was so fun to do. I stayed in Villa 324 which is a Sunrise Villa. These villas enjoy direct sun from sunrise to around 330-4pm. Views over the lagoon are to die for. A very special thanks to all the housekeeping team who work tirelessly each day in the villas to ensure guests are comfortable and for all the surprises you left during my stay, like the stunning Valentines Day decorations ! It’s these small details that make you so special, and why guests will return to the island.
Restaurants & Bars The island has 5 restaurants in total which includes all inclusive Al la Carte, and these are booked by reservation, excluding the main Aqua Restaurant which is buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food and menus in all restaurants not only looks amazing but is absolutely delicious and will get your taste buds going. I had the real pleasure to meet Moreno, Executive Head Chef for all the restaurants, and he had no hesitation to go out of his way daily to ensure I enjoyed each meal, including making several amazing dishes in front of me to try ! He brings his amazing Italian and family heritage and passion to anything he makes, and you will often see him interacting with guests at meal times to make sure they enjoy the incredible food on offer. The restaurant staff are all so very friendly and attentive, and really show a keen interest in what you have been doing during the day. They have a wonderful knack of remembering all guests names and favourite drinks and will always help you with the various theme nights and al la carte menus if you’re unsure. Special mentions and sincerest thanks to Arup, Rau, Ray, Priyanka, Pradeepa (the biggest smile ever !), Roshan, Ora (love your humour !) and all the staff at each restaurant that I haven’t named, there’s simply too many, you’re all amazing !! Although I don’t drink, I have to mention my friend Joseph (Head Sommelier), who is so passionate and knowledgeable about his job, and it was a real pleasure to chat with him and learn about wines, you’re sure to end up drinking more than a bottle or two i’m sure ! Lastly, Vishal and Ronak who loved to surprise me with their many tasty mocktail drink mixes, thanks boys, I still cannot decide my favourite as they were all amazing ! Certain things trigger wonderful memories after your vacation, and the incredible mouthwatering cuisine and drinks will certainly be remembered for sure ! Tip: Be sure to visit the Teppenyaki with Chef Gary for a real show at lunch or dinner, juggling and a little bit of Elvis is also on the menu, what an amazing entertainer !
PADI Dive Centre I can honestly say, having dived all over the Maldives, Faarufushi’s house reef stands out as one of the best dive sites I have dived so far. I got to forfil 2 more bucket list dreams - diving with a pod of wild bottlenose dolphin - to hear their incredible chatter before you see them sends your heart beat racing, then when they appear, to admire their beauty and intelligence…incredible experience. The second was to dive around and through the stunningly beautiful Faarufushi caves teaming with marine life….Wow….Wow…Wow.. what incredible dive experiences !! The PADI Dive team are fantastic and extremely helpful for both beginner and experienced divers. Special shout out to Alessia, Gabriele and Tash who helped make my dreams come true….thank you, thank you, thank you !
Spa The spa is set among the lush trees and vegetation and offers a very relaxed, calming and picturesque environment with the spa staff very welcoming as soon as you arrive. During my stay I had a Thai massage which was perfect and the spa therapist applied excellent deep pressure as requested prior to beginning, and I came away feeling great, particularly my back which I suffer from. The Spa offers a host of spa packages and I would have no hesitation recommending them, an excellent spa experience !
Skydive Maldives Prior to arriving at Emerald Faarufushi, I had always wanted to Skydive which was on my bucket list. To my excitement, the Maldives has just introduced Skydiving in December 2023 and so I arranged through the resort a tandem jump, being the first person to do so on this island. The resort arranged everything for me, and I was taken to the nearby Ifuru Resort by boat where Skydive Maldives are based. Wow, wow, wow…what an incredible experience and adrenaline rush !!! If you’re visiting Emerald Faarufushi, this definitely has to be on your list to do !!
Entertainment I’m not big on Maldives resorts with loud base pumping music, and prefer a more relaxed entertainment in the evening. Thankfully, Emerald Faarufushi’s Dinesh and Rashi known as “The Backpackers Duo” provided the evening band entertainment next to the Beach Pool Bar and Aqua Restaurant. Like I mentioned earlier, when you come home after your vacation, certain things trigger memories of your stay, and music is one. I loved having my evening meals whilst listening to Dinesh and Rashi’s various covers. They even asked if I would like any special requests, and despite not knowing one of the songs I requested, they learnt it over a couple of days then sang it and devoted it especially to me, thank you so much for Sade’s “Ordinary Love” and all your other wonderful songs guys !! Their music is so special and really creates the right ambience in the evening, and more so, wonderful memories during my stay.
Personal Host During my stay I had the real pleasure of having Nana as my personal host. From the outset, Nana set up a WhatsApp messaging group so she could respond quickly to any requests I may have. I cannot speak highly enough of Nana, her kind, approachable and friendly nature and excellent customer care skills are an asset to the resort and team. To get the most out of my vacation, and to ensure that I experienced all the different international cuisines on offer, Nana arranged all my restaurant reservations in advance. This totally put my mind at rest, as other resorts leave it to you and you can struggle to make reservations at the times you wish to eat. Nana delivered a personal service over and above anything I expected, from her warm daily greetings on WhatsApp, arranging all my activities and excursions, down to visiting me at dinner to ask about my day and if she could do anything further. Thank you so much Nana, I appreciate you and everything you did to make my stay so enjoyable !!
Summary of my stay at Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa is simply stunning ! You can walk bare foot around this island on its white powder beach (without coral shoes) and the calm crystal clear waters of the lagoon allows you cool off when you wish. The resort is managed by Patrick De Staerke, GM, and it is clear that all his team strive to deliver a service, but most importantly, your vacation, to the highest standards which they achieve in such a chilled and relaxed way, which is testament to Patricks management qualities. I can honestly say that this has been one of my best vacations in the Maldives so far and I now feel very much part of the Faarufushi family. If you are thinking of staying at this resort, don’t think about it, BOOK IT !! All the staff go out of their way to make you feel so special, and it’s this very feeling that I have come away with that will make me return to this beautifully stunning resort. Compared with other Maldives resorts, All Inclusive really does mean all inclusive, so you don’t have to worry about racking up a bill before you leave. Emerald Faarufushi ticks every box and more, and Patrick and his wonderful team are all dream-makers !!

Could not speak more highly of our experience. We went to this resort for our honeymoon and every aspect surpassed our expectations. The accommodation, food, drinks, staff, everything was perfect. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. Because of the relatively small size of the resort, you get such a private and personal experience. E.g., some days we had the whole beach to ourselves, or the fact staff always remembered our favourite drinks. The location itself is also incredibly special. The lagoon is beautiful, the beaches are really well maintained and you’re far away from other islands so there aren’t loads of boats or sea planes intruding into this little slice of paradise. Would highly recommend to anyone, but especially a honeymooning couple wanting a peaceful and private location to enjoy some relaxing time away from the rest of the world.

We went on a family holiday ,4 adults and 2 children. The emereld resort is immaculate amd because of the staff and service we had the best holiday ever. The resort is brand new and the rooms are spacious with gorgeous views. The first room we were allocated was slightly obstructed by a tennis court and on complaining we were promptly moved to a better location. Mr Rao was gracious and understanding and did his best to ensure that we were comfortable.( we had a slight delay in getting to the island and our bags did not arrive with us - but that was due to maldivian airlines). But that was the only part of the journey that was not as planned. Mr Rao and his team are absolutely amazing. A special memtion to Elite who went above and beyond in organising our daily activities, meals, and any requests . The kitchen staff were exceptional. Chef Krishna Kumar ensured we were thoroughly spoiled with choice ,and Chef Roshan made the most incredible desserts on demand! Chef Fernando also was so helpful Ali our room staff kept our room spotless despite the sand, water and general mess when you unwind on a beach holiday The holiday was to celebrate our 20 yr wedding anniversary and i cannot recommend it more. My stay here was amazing! The staff made it even better. Ronak and Ram were so much fun and made any drinks that we requested. Ram went out of his way to make my wife a drink that was not even on the menu that he had shown her during the cocktail class. Ronak’s sense of humor was quite enjoyable and his bold and honest opinions were very welcomed. He also went out of his way to make our stay amazing especially at the sunset pool bar. Sundar and Aroon were so very attentive to our every needs while we were at the sunset pool bar, and to also share their stories with us. We really appreciated them. At the acqua restaurant and at the mediteraneo Priyanka made every effort to make sure we were comfortable and we had everything we needed. She and some of the other hosts went out of their way to make a nice “see you soon” sign on our table. Nabeel was amazing as our host at most Aqua breakfasts. I will never forget his smile which was so contagious and pleasing to see on mornings. Shinaaz went above and beyond as our host at these restaurants as well and even informed the staff about a certain type of drink I liked on mornings so that they had it ready for me the next morning at breakfast. Natcha also spoke to us on many occasions even though she was not our primary host and she also shared many of her personal stories with us that we thoroughly enjoyed. Joseph with the wine tasting class and in many occasions as our sommelier was quite enjoyable and he always made great recommendations that my wife really loved. Both Youseff’s on the boat tours were so nice and always seems to seek our interest in all the excursions we went on. They went out of their way to make sure that my wife saw the dolphins on the dolphin cruise, and they also entertained a lot of my questions I had about the football games. They are very pleasant to talk to and seems to have our best interest at heart. Sodde never failed to be present whenever we needed a ride anywhere and we enjoyed his stories on our rides from place to place. Zihaan was also very attentive to our every request we had when we wanted our room cleaned and restocked with certain things. Nana was a pleasure to deal with from the beginning of our trip here and met our every request except for extended check out. She was very communicative through WhatsApp and she made sure to engage us at the end of the night to see if we had any issues. Overall the stay was amazing and if I wish all the staff the best for their future Careers. Their kindness and attentiveness to us has certainly surpassed all expectations and I wish the very best for them. We will be back.

The words, "Above and beyond" simply do not do this review any justice. We arrived with high expectations and they were surpassed massively.
Special mention to Patrick de Staercke and his team for a wonderful place to experience our holiday. It is truly a beautiful, magical place and we were treated like VIP's in our own ocean island paradise.
Faheem, our host was in contact daily to ensure that our every expectation was met and fulfilled.
The food was exquisite and plentiful and Executive Head Chef Moreno Casaccia obliging my request for a personal tour of his kitchens which were well organised and squeaky clean.
The wine selection was vast and overseen by two fantastic Sommelier's. A special mention to Tatenda from Zimbabwe whom kept our glasses full.
The Eclipse Bar was an amazing location for a pre and post dinner cocktail watching the sun go down. The bar staff were top of their game and always attentive.
"Attentive" is perhaps a key word that should jump out in the last paragraphs of my review as we were showered in attention from the moment we landed on our small sea-plane to a small island of hosts whom genuinely wanted you to be there and warmly made you feel welcomed.

Emerald Faarufushi is truly paradise. It was hard to narrow down which island I wanted to visit in Maldives, and I am so grateful on deciding on this resort. My stay was the best experience I could have hoped for. First of all, the grounds are kept incredibly clean. My room was always in pristine condition thanks to my house keeper who was very kind, paid attention to detail and was considerate while in my space. The best experience I had was with my dive instructor, Ayya. This guy is seriously incredible. He was a brilliant teacher and so fun to be around. I seriously want to come back ASAP to dive with him again! I was able to get my certification with him and do an exploration dive that was truly magical. The food was very good and very accommodating to allergies. Pastry chef Roshan was so friendly and would make sure I always had something delicious. The head chef was really great and friendly, I had so much fun making gnocchi with Moreno. And with every meal my sommelier Tate kept my glass full with amazing wine. My whole experience was so luxurious and relaxing. The entire staff is amazing. This is a very special place that I can’t wait to return to!

This resort is perfect for families, couples and adventurers who want to experience the Maldives in perfection and beautiful ambience. In July 2023, five of us went on a trip to the Maldives and found a fantastic resort. The welcome and care was first class. In particular, our villa host, Kunal, did a perfect job arranging all excursions, restaurant visits, etc. for us. All wishes were read from our eyes and implemented. The outstanding performance of the entire staff, the friendliness and the hospitality distinguish this resort. Especially the kitchen crew around the chef Mureno Casaccia excelled every evening and conjured up dishes from all over the world on our plates. The buffets left nothing to be desired and even special requests were fulfilled for us. The service in the restaurant is very attentive and friendly and also here a better service is hardly imaginable. We were accommodated in a beach villa with pool, which was very modern but at the same time comfortably equipped, with daily filled minibar, drinks as desired and small snacks. A highlight is certainly the modern bathroom with outdoor shower and bathtub, which conjured a very special flair. This resort is also a perfect snorkeling and diving paradise, because the house reef is easy to reach and rich in different fish, corals, turtles, etc.. The SPA department is high. Professional also leaves no wish unfulfilled. It has its own Steam Room and all treatments are offered from facials to full body massage. Especially Reny is and by her professionalism and her great handling in best memory remained. We can unreservedly recommend this resort, because here you get exactly what you expect: an unforgettable and wonderful stay in the Maldives.

Faarufushi is the onmne of the nicest island I have ever been in Maldives. It is 20 years plus that I travel to the Maldives regularly therefore my expectations are very high.
We spent 11 days on the Island and it has been a real dream!
The resort, compared the other Emerald Fashmendo island where I have been few times, is smaller everithing is at walking distance, alternatively you can use the bicycle provided with your villa. We stayed in two water villas, the rooms are really well decorated and the matherials used are reallly classy and natural with mainly wood and stones.
We loved all the 5 restaurants, the level of the Mediterraneo is comparable to a Michelin star restaurant. Fantastic also the Teppanyaki experience, it is located outside/openair and you eat with your the feet in the sand looking at the chef performing in front of you.
Another greath experience that we did is the sandbank picknick excursions as well as the diving. The diving center runned by a swiss gentlement highly professional and organised.
The SPA is really fantastic, you can find all kind of treatments from massage, to facials, to body wrap etc etc.
You could watch the amazing sunset in two ways:
1. at the yoga class on the deck in the middle of the sea 2. at the bar cocktail on the jetty where you have the impression to be on a boat!
The inhouse Reef for snorkeling (and diving) is also one of the best I experienced in the maldives . There you can see every day by snorkeing turtles, sharks, sting ray, eagle rays and all the variety of coral fishes.
Many thanks to the General manager Patrick, Rao, Joseph and of course to our attentive villa host Nana for making our stay such unforgettable. We will definietely come back again.

It is pleasing to know that your 11 days with us were remarkable and unforgettable along with the impeccable service delivered by our dedicated staff had gone beyond your great expectation had made my entire team and I thrilled. We are humbly thankful for your great compliments on our gastronomy outlets prepared by our food and beverages team and culinary expert chefs who always ensure that your dining experience was memorable with the top-notch experience. As well as the divine Emerald Spa program, which offers a variety of massages organized by a professional spa therapist to allow your body to destress and relax whilst spending your quality time on the isle. Here at Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa, watching the sunset is one of the must-do things! A yoga class located at the sunset jetty allows you to enjoy watching sunset and another way to watch the sunset is at Eclipse Bar where you can immerse yourself with the drinks served by our mixologist whilst waving goodbye to the sunset. It is splendid that you had a moment to meet and greet with the truly magical creatures such as turtles, sting rays, sharks, and plenty of fish beneath the clear turquoise sea via snorkeling I appreciate your compliment and your praises to our champions (team members) - Mr. Rao, Joseph, and Nana will be shared with them and I am certain that they will be happy to hear about it. The room was very big with a pool at the balcony and freshed with the elegant fragrance which created a good mood and sleep for us every day. Our room number was 336 at the sunrise side. The sea view was fantastic during the sunny days. And we saw rainbows when it was raining for a while. The cleaningman Wandi provided nice service for us, cleaning the room twice a day and would satisfy our special needs written on the letter every day. Our steward Nicole helped us a lot. Whenever we have problems or made some small mistake(like missing the time) she would solve the problem for us. She also arranged the surprising dinner and room set for our honeymoon and the birthday of my husband. The waiter Rabkit at the carnivals was a kind man. I was scared by the lightening one night and he gently changed a table and served special dish to comfort me. What surprised us most was the technique of the cameraman. He KNEW how to make the most beautiful photos for couples and families. Although it was a little expensive, we still bought 8 extra pics. I have to say that Emerald was a fantastic island. The food and resort and facilities here totally showed it was a leading hotel company.

we had the most beautiful vacation you can imagine. from the first to the last second, one word is very important here: SERVICE. our villa host was kunal, who took care of us and was available 24/7 via whatsapp when we had a request. every little wish was fulfilled. we have never experienced such a great service and such intensive care as guests! he was always friendly and came to our dinner every night to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything. every wish was fulfilled immediately! the whole staff is incredibly friendly. you are greeted with a smile everywhere. we would like to especially mention Kelum and Mirasol from the kitchen, who prepared the most delicious breakfast for us every day with a smile on their face. Also Rohit, who accompanied us to our table every day with his incomparable kindness and gave us wish-less meals. Most of all we remember Ali, who was in charge of housekeeping. Not only was our room always spotless, his neatness and sense of detail and attention to detail could not be matched. We were happy every day when he "visited" us, as we always had a nice chat with him and it was always fun. His arts from towels will always remain in our memory! we can very well imagine to come again! also not to forget chef moreno - his truffle pasta is by far the BEST thing we have ever eaten! he even shared the recipe for the homemade gnocchi with us. we thank him from the bottom of our hearts! THANKS to the whole team!

We always do beach villas with pools as we prefer to try and catch the onshore breeze and have found water villas are usually facing away and get too warm during the day. At Emerald Faarufushi, most have good beach access. We normally go Feb/March time when the breeze in normally S to SW so we normally pick something that is N to NW facing. I think we had Villa 104 at Faarufushi which was perfect for us.
There are more places to choose from in the Faarufushi area.
