We spend one night at El Panchan in the cabanas Sapo and we were robbed ! We travel around the world since 6 years, we are very careful about all our stuff and for the first time we were robbed. We let our luggage in their storage room for few hours, all our stuff was tidy in our backpacks closed.... More

If I had to go to palenque again, I'll probably stay again. But just for you to know, it's not a good place for SOLO travellers. It's only cabins, cozy but not really any common area to meet people.. NO internet, so get a good book ;) you'll only have the sound of the nature and he monkeys at night

I was camped up the road from panchan but found myself going there everyday! Its got a lot going on, uts more of a mini village. It has a about 4-5 hostals, 1 big restaurant, a bar (with wifi!- bearing in mind wifi is hard to find in the 'jungle' so a place with wifi was quite a nice suprise... More

We only spent one night in the forest cabin but it was quite enough :) We payed only 300 pesos so didn't expect much and we're quite used to non-european standard of accommodation while backpacking. But our cabin was really filthy and this seems to be a place for mostly treehugging stoned hippies with dreadlocks who play loud music until... More

I went to el Panchan, because I got a lot of recommendation from my friends. I arrived around 5pm, because I was told that the reservation is not needed during the off season, but 3 complexes of hotels were already completely full. Therefore, I took a room - in complex called el Mono blanco - 150MX for a night (3... More

This was one of the coolest hostels I've stayed at during my travels. We stayed in a cabaña in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by the sounds of crickets at night and howler monkeys during the day. It is also located near the ruins. The restaurant was fantastic! The food (particularly breakfast if you consider the portion size) can... More

Just around the corner of the entrance of the park, in El Panchan, Jungle Palace provides mediocre cabana’s in the jungle for a good price, ideal for the traveler living on a shoestring. You can share the dorms with up to four people, making it even more affordable. The cabana’s are well protected against mosquito’s. The shared bathrooms are good... More

The place is situated at the entrance to Palenque ruins (though you will need to take a bus to get to the actual entrance) in the jungle - that is the best what El Panchan has to offer. Expect sudden showers and howler monkeys howling in the middle of the night :) Rooms are clean but they lack some personal... More

We were in one of the three cabin complexes called jungle palace. Incredible place to stay, you are in the middle of the jungle surrounded by beautiful creatures plants and sounds(jungle sounds at night were the best). The guy at the reception Daniel was awasome, and we had some very interesting conversations with him. If you expect regular comfortable all-inclusive... More

El Panchan is cheap, I stayed in jungle palace for 100 pesos for a private room with a double bed. Yes it's basic but it has everything you need. Yes there are bugs and Mosquitos and tarantulas because it's the jungle, it's kind of to be expected. The restaurants are nice their is live music and fire twirling at night,... More
