We stayed here 1 night for our visit to Palenque. The bungalows are very nice and comfortable, but the bed was hard. The surrounding area is very lush. The pool was very welcome after a hot day in the jungle. The outdoor dining was a bit warm, but expected with the time of year. Food was very good and the staff friendly and helpful, very little English, but we get by. Very cool place.
Chan-Kah was an amazing, luxe home base for all our Palenque adventures. The restaurant was incredible— service and food were out of this world! Special thanks to Francisco for making our time especially great 🙃
As the previous reviews have already said, this hotel is fairly basic but very conveniently located for the archaeological site. Our room was spacious although 'rustic'. The restaurant food is very average and overpriced but the staff are lovely. Unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to use the nice large pool as it was pouring with rain on our free afternoon but it looks really nice. I had a massage at the spa which was really excellent and great value. Main complaint is the almost complete lack of English spoken by the reception staff which made asking for any information very difficult.
Stayed only for 1 night in March 2022 as an overnight on a grand tour of Mexico. This hotel is outside the city but closer to the Palenque archaeological site. The rooms are individual huts spread out and nestled in amongst Forrest garden settings, the pool is very large and good for families whilst the breakfast dining area is large and open air. Weirdly the towels for the pool are at the reception building at the beginning of the site not near the pool. The room was a casita junior suite and we had to drag our bags across the park ourselves. The room was large and the hut subdivided into a large bedroom facing a veranda and the bathroom luggage area at the back. Complimentary toiletries were supplied with hairdryer and water, the safe was broken and a new one needed to be installed after the engineer couldn't fix it. The room did have air-conditioning but no fridge and the decoration although simplistic, clever and creative the whole place seemed rather tired, it must of been something to stay here 10 years ago, it seems to have adventure - centre parcs feel to it but we didn't explore that side fully. Make sure you have bug spray as it's tropical and small stream runs through it. Breakfast was an American Breakfast included and it covered most bases but certainly nothing exceptional, if you're vegan or vegetarian your gonna struggle. Staff were attentive and kind and throughout professional and clean. …
Have stayed here twice and both times the hotel has been perfect. Stunning surroundings, rooms are quiet and have everything needed and service is kind and courteous. Howler monkeys on the hotel grounds a big bonus. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.
There are cockroaches and ants in the room. The toilet seat does not function properly. Sheets have stains. Prices in café and restaurant are high and we have had better food. Pools are cold. Rooms and facilities have seen better days. Guests in multiple houses decided to have a party on their porch together, waking us up at midnight and continuing until 02.00. Despite talking to the guests, calling reception twice and walking to reception, nothing was done. Against policy of the hotel. Definately would not recommend this place.
It is a lovely place located in the jungle with monkeys and parrots in the surroundings. The service is perfect and the rooms are clean and exotic. It is a friendly staff there are ready to help, and they do their best so you can get the best vacation you could hope for. The food and drinks are great, the breakfast is delicious. Differently a place we would recommend!
Beutifully set in the jungle, close to the ruins and very good price.. There's alot of wildlife surrounding the bungalows but at the same time the rooms are free of mosquitos (not sure how they manage hahahha) staff was mega helpful and friendly ... carmelo and the reception staff
Upon arrival, it was a lot of confusion at the front desk. Once we were shown to our room, there was only one electrical out let in the bathroom to charge any of our devices. The lunch we had in the restaurant, was well below expectations we ordered a shrimp cocktail, which was shrimp in water, add your own avocado, onion and cilantro. It was the worst i have had in all my years in mexico. The chicken tacos had a nice presentation but absolutely no flavor. All i tasted was the corn tortilla. I called the front desk to ask for towels for the pool, and they said no English and hung up on me. I called back to the front desk only to get the same reply. My spanish is quite good at this point, but as i started to speak English, they assumed i do not know spanish. So in putting it to the test. Only the reception staff treated me this way, very disrespectful. The wait staff was very courteous. I must say this has been my worst experience in Palenque, and i will not recommend or ever come back to this establishment. A good place to spend a weekend with family or friends, if you are looking for nature and fresh air this is the right place to stay, the only inconvenient is because the water in the swimming pool is very hot 🔥🥵 but you can swim without any problem
