I visited this hotel for the 3rd time (since 2018), to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. The reservation process was handled nicely and the front office manager, Ashok, offered us a fair price on the rooms. The hotel upgraded our room into a Suite (with a private pool) and offered my fiancé a FOC spa treatment. The rooms are very attractive and clean.
On her birthday, the hotel offered us a nice birthday cake and took some extra effort on decorating the room and it was so lovely! The hotel staff (each an every staff member) were well trained as they were very efficient and friendly.
Excellent hotel with a breathtaking view. Food was amazing and you could taste fresh seafood cooked perfectly as they have a sea food market in the evening. Heartfelt thanks to Ashok and the team for the excellent hospitality provided. Please maintain these standards and we would definitely visit again soon....

Superb resort. We stayed at Maalu Maalu twice last month for four nights at a time. On each visit we found the staff to be incredibly warm and helpful. We always felt welcome and looked after. From the reception to restaurant to beach bar, all staff consistently offer a genuine smile and a greeting. The facilities are clean, well laid out and maintained. The pool is beautiful. Passikuda beach is always paradise - the best swimming beach in Sri Lanka - clean, inviting, great for strolls and safe in every respect. With Maalu Maalu positioned almost in the centre of the beach, it is great value for money compared to some of the more expensive options. We'll be heading back again in October, hopefully!

Totally overwhelmed with the experience there. From the entrance of the hotel it captures boundless views of the stunning ocean which is mind blowing. The orientation of the hotel lays all the beach cabanas facing the beach that captures the sun rise from the cabanas themselves. The infinity pool connects the hotel and the sea together that portrays the nature inside the hotel. The staff was so supportive and friendly where we could spend two days without any complaint. On the arrival the staff welcomed us with a lovely flower garland which was unique to them and from there onward the whole staff was supportive. The Dinner and Breakfast buffets were mouthwatering. We enjoyed the meals there which they served a diverse cuisines from traditional Sri Lankan to international cuisines. My husband, 9 month old baby and I arrived the day before our two year wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in its entirety! From our first moment on the resort property we were greeted by and showered with kindness and generosity. Upon arriving to our Ocean Suite, to my surprise, the staff had beautifully decorated the bed for us! They were so accommodating to our baby as well, always ensuring there was something for her to enjoy at all three meals and placing a lovely crib in our room for her. On the evening of our anniversary, about 5 or 6 staff members spent a good 2-4 hours arranging an astonishing, romantic setting for dinner on the beach. The six course meal was delectable and delicious and concluded with an anniversary cake! The suite was immaculately clean and very spacious. Our stay was so enjoyable, relaxing, and fun! The manager, Wohara, and his staff took such good care of us, and we look forward to our next stay!

We traveled to the Maalu Maalu Hotel for 4 nights as a newly married couple. We chose the hotel because of the great experience of a couple of friends who had also stayed at the hotel before and the great location on the beach.
At the beginning we were greeted by friendly staff and the boss, who gave us a flower garland, a cold towel and a delicious drink. While we enjoyed the drink we were shown around the hotel. Since we were newly married our bed was specially decorated. There were also little surprises in the room every now and then (fruit plate and a delicious cake) which we didn't expect at all since we "only" had half board. As for half board, I can only say that this is a good choice as the prices for drinks and snacks are very affordable in the hotel (pizza €6, cola or milkshake €2).
The room (deluxe room) had a bedroom and a bathroom. We particularly liked the bathroom because of its size and facilities (2 sinks, 1 large rain shower and 1 large bathtub as well as a separate toilet). The room was always cleaned properly and was never dirty.
Breakfast and dinner were very plentiful and varied. There was a good mix of western and classic Sri Lankan food. Coffee, juices, water and tea were also free at breakfast and dinner. Water was also free all day.
The beach adjacent to the hotel with direct access was very clean and had plenty of loungers and parasols. The pool boy Ruben (a very nice employee) also brought towels to the beach every day when needed and reserved a lounger if necessary. He also always had good small talk on his lips and always greeted us with a smile.
The hotel's own pool was large, not particularly deep and equipped with massage loungers. It had a great view of the beach and was like an infinity pool.
The wellness center located in the hotel was good value for money (25€ for a 45-minute massage) and the massages felt really good. If you wanted, you could also have a massage outside with a view of the beach.
Finally, the boss, Sudan, was always helpful, friendly and good at small talk. For example, he organized the Germans' opening game of the European Championship to be shown at 12:30 a.m. and really made sure that we had a great stay in the hotel.
In summary, this is a great hotel with great staff, plentiful food and an impressive hotel complex. We will definitely come back<3.

First off, Pasikudah is one, if not the best beaches in Sri Lanka for swimming in calm seas. No surfing here, but great for families, couples, and those who want to swim in flat, clear, easy water.
The Seafood at Maalu Maalu is incredible, as well as the exterior design and the pool. They also have the fastest internet connection I've seen in any hotel I've stayed at in Sri Lanka so it's a great place to work remotely as well! Recommended.

Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa, located on the picturesque Pasikudah Beach, is arguably the best beach destination in Sri Lanka. This beautiful, unspoiled beach provided an idyllic backdrop for our family vacation. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Maalu Maalu was a special place.
My son, who is only 3 years old, was instantly captivated by the beach. The soft, golden sand was perfect for him to play on, and the calm, shallow waters of the bay were ideal for his first experiences with the sea. He spent hours building sandcastles, collecting seashells, and splashing in the gentle waves. The beach was clean, well-maintained, and never felt overcrowded, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for children.
The accommodation at Maalu Maalu was exceptional. Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated in a style that reflected the local culture. The comfortable beds, modern amenities, and thoughtful touches like fresh flowers made it a truly luxurious experience. The Manager Wohara Dissanayake was very professional and helpful gentlemen, made our stay memorable and enjoyable. All the staff members whom we come across during our stay here were very pleasent and welcoming. The staff were willing to go extra mile to make us happy. The pool was our hangout location. All three meals were very healthy. The breakfast and dinner were buffet style and we had lot of choices to choose and honestly we could not taste all the food that were there. The room was very clean and comfy. Four people can share the washroom at the same time. The washroom is so huge, it had bath tub, shower, two sinks and toilet. The room is like living in an apartment. You need at least two days to explore this hotel. I have already planned to visit again when I visit next time to Sri Lanka.

We stayed at Maalu Maalu for three nights and it was a lovely experience! The property opens right onto the beach with a spectacular view from the rooms located towards the beach. The food was pretty good and the service was exceptional. Front office manager Ashok was very friendly, attentive and informative and made sure that our stay was very comfortable. The highlights were the long walks on the beach, spending time in the lovely pool and snorkeling (which was out of this world). Definitely worth visiting!

Me and my fiancee came over here to have a quick meal. The receptionist Ms Lihil who was wearing a beautiful smile welcomed us very warmly. We were offered with Passion Sorbet instead of a welcome drink which was really nice on this warm climate. The Front Office Manager Mr Ashok approached us to welcome us and in the meantime to get a basic idea of our requirement. We requested from him for a calm and quite place to relax and enjoy our meals. Afterwards the Food & Beverage Manager Mr Janaka & Mr Ashok guided us to the exact place which we wanted (A man made wooden boat towards the beach). We ordered two Sri Lankan style pasta and some soft drinks it was value for money. Kudos to the chef for making such delicious dishes. Unfortunately both of us are not heavy eaters so for us it was too much. Regardless in general it's a nice portion. The young man who served us Mr Iresh looked at our leftovers and genuinely asked for the feedback of our meal which brought a clear picture for both us that he's highly qualified in his role. Since both of us are hoteliers 😊😊. Keep up the exceptional service.

I only can informe that we spent every day for 2 persons lunch and each one 1 Cocktail together about 100 €. The food is absolutly great compared with other hotels at this beach which we also tried. For dinner came also guests from other hotels.
There are more places to choose from in the Pasikuda area.
