There aren’t enough words to describe how perfect our stay at Amari Havodda was. We booked 10 nights for our honeymoon. Accommodation: we chose a Sunrise Beach Pool Villa and was not disappointed. We loved being right on the beach as we didn’t feel an Overwater Villa was for us, and the snorkelling right outside our front door was unbelievable! The rooms were spotless at all times and cleaned several times a day. The decking area and outdoor bathroom are kept in perfect condition and regularly cleaned of sand etc. The rooms were spacious, luxurious and the air con a welcome addition after a day in the sun! Host: Our host Nagesh went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Nothing was too much trouble, he booked everything for us and regularly checked in to make sure we were Ok. How could we not be! I also recommend Sunrise Yoga which Nagesh instructs if you stay, such a beautiful experience for the body and mind! Food: My husband and I are big foodies (he is an ex Chef) and we couldn’t fault a thing. The variety and quality was out of this world. I’ve also had some of the best patisserie and cakes in my life on this island which I would expect only in somewhere like Paris! I recommend dinner at Ember Grill and a private dinner on the beach, we had the Land Lovers veli menu and it was beyond anything we could have imagined. Some of the best food we’ve ever had. I’m also a massive Afternoon Tea lover so couldn’t resist during my stay, we also had the floating breakfast and both were real pinch me moments it was just unbelievable. Cocktails and alcohol variety were also fab and the range of wines at dinner top notch. I definitely recommend visiting Iru Bar at 5pm to see the sunset, such a pinch me moment. Activities: We did the Dolphin Cruise and glass bottom kayaking and recommend both. We snorkelled multiple times a day and did the guided snorkel. We went Premium All Inclusive and it was so worth it as it included this snorkel, as well as a 60 minute massage in the little spa sanctuary (staff were SO lovely and WOW what a massage). As part of the PAI we also got a cooking class at Ember. We opted for Japanese style and wow it was amazing. So much fun. We also had a photo session with the islands photographer as it’s so hard to capture photos of the two of us - selfies get boring! We’ve got some amazing images to help us remember this incredible experience forever. We loved every single activity and would do them all again. Thank you to every single member of staff who made this a once in a life time trip… I say once in a lifetime, we are already planning to visit AGAIN! You are the friendliest, most professional, helpful, wonderful people and we loved meeting you all. You are amazing at what you do and the happiness you bring to people. Everyone from the chefs, diving instructors, our wonderful host Nagesh, bar and waiters - you always had the biggest smiles on your faces and we loved getting to know you all. We will be back, cannot recommend this place enough! Heaven on earth truly does exist.

Great little resort island. Great access to reefs and marine wildlife for snorkelling. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms and common areas were well furnished and very modern. There are options for everyone to enjoy, whether you want to just relax or be more adventurous and explore the atoll. Food was good but could get tiring after a while (like all resorts).

What went good: The reef from the northern overwater villas (150-176) and towards the diving center is very good. A lot of live coral reef (incl. soft coral), lots of fish, we also saw turtles, morays, one stingray, one eagle ray, lobsters, reef sharks and even once a nurse shark. The island is small but not overcrowded. We are fond of snorkeling so we asked for a villa closer to a good reef in advance and got #170, very satisfied. Overwater villa looks pretty on the inside, the villa contains almost everything you need (but no mattress for a rope hammock), good shampoo, cleaned 1-2 times every day. On few days we were lucky to have had the villa cleaned while we went for breakfast, but on the most days we got a knock after breakfast. What went bad: Dining: the food is pretty bad. Not "nothing to eat" bad, but rather "It’s edible because I'm hungry but not a restaurant quality food”. Dishes are very simple and not gourmet. Pasta, curry, rice, meat (chicken/duck, beef/pork), fish (tuna). Meats were often too dry and almost never restaurant quality. Bread: not tasty, barely edible, total disappointment after Germany, where any 3* hotel would serve 5 kinds of fresh and delicious bread. All salads we tasted were straight bad, did not finish a single one. Vegetables in the salad bar are bland and seem underripe. Potatoes – totally inedible 50% of the time, please just stop trying. Desserts were very repetitive and rarely tasty. Service: below expectations, definitely not up to 5*. We asked for an electricity plug adapter from euro plug to Maldives – were told that all adapters are already occupied. Given that the hotel has at least 2 boats going to bigger island and back per day Our villa was one of the furthest from the restaurant (10-15 min walk), part of the walk is through the lengthy oversea bridge leading to over water villas. During pouring rain, we asked for the buggy to get to our villa - we were told we would get wet and it was better to walk. The buggy lacks rain side covers, but at least it’d get us through the bridge in 15 seconds and not 3 minutes walking through the pouring rain in the face with gusty wind. At other Maldives resorts it’s customary to use the buggies during rain or even strong sun, and the buggies have curtains. Villa design features an open-air bathroom, however during strong wind and rain, rain drops reach everywhere in the bathroom – you can’t go to the toilet in the night without getting wet.

Dear almalexiya12, Greetings from Amari Havodda Maldives, Thank you for your review. As you well imagine, these guest impressions are an invaluable source of information. Our resort places the highest importance on comments and suggestions made by our guests, so that we may continue to develop and improve the standard of services for increased customer satisfaction. We are glad that you loved your villa which was very close to the best house reef. It was a pleasure to know that you have loved the design of our overwater villas. We are truly sorry that we were unable to meet your culinary expectations. Should you have shared your concerns during your stay, we would have been able to assist you further. Most of our guests crave the quality and production of our food which is highly praised on this portal and other online travel review platforms. Our boats drive to and fro between Kaadehdhoo Airport and Amari Havodda. The Airport that you may have already seen does not provide options for purchasing. Universal sockets are available in all villas and additional adaptors are available on request. We are sorry that we ran out of extra adaptors during your request. We are truly sorry that we were not in a position to pick up guests from the over water villas due to the heavy flow of wind at the time. We try our best to accommodate all such request when ever possible. All our buggies are fitted with rain covers. Our outdoor bathroom design is exceptionally well received by all our guests however we understand the constraints you may have faced during adverse weather conditions. I hope that the above did not tarnish forever your perception of our hotel and that we shall be able to regain your confidence in the future. With our reiterated thanks for bringing this to our attention and ensuring you of our constant care and attention, we remain. Warm Regards, Ahmed Murooj Assistant Manager, Amari Host Amari Havodda Maldives

This was our first visit to the Maldives and from the get go Murooj made us feel like we were family. The island itself is beautiful and breathtaking with amazing sandy beaches, beautiful sunsets and wonderful staff making the whole experience unforgettable. Murooj was our host and was extremely knowledgeable about the island and services they provide. He is a lovely character and very helpful. Amaya food gallery is were the magic happens, the food is unbelievable and delicious. Rakesh&Ahmed were the chefs and they would personally come out to see us every evening to ensure we were happy with our dishes. I wish we had these chefs at home in the UK to cook for us everyday! We also had a wonderful photoshoot experience and the photographer is very talented & very informative. Also a Special thank you to everyone at the resort for making out first trip to the Maldives magnificent. Hopefully we will return one day. Asher & Maariyah.
