We had a 3 person room, the space was alright but is in need of some improvements. The bathroom wasn't great, the shower let the water pass under it. The toilet paper holder was broken. The table in the room was really unstable and the power sockets badly placed. The restaurant was closed that night. The breakfast was really good, one of the best we had in Iceland.
Stayed here for two nights. First we were assigned to a room in "the top" of the highest building (there are 3 separate buildings with rooms). Ver uninspiring room right below the roof where we hear the rain pattering on the corrugated iron roof. Bathroom was a joke, only a bath with low water pressure and one small sink. No place to put your toiletry items. After contacting the (lovely) lady in charge we were given an other room, located in the reception building. This was a nice clean room WITH a real bathroom with shower cabin, nothing luxurious but adequate. Breakfast, as well as the two dinners we had here were good, three course dinners. Wine and beer is affordable here. The lady owner (?) was nice and friendly. If you want to stay here you must be careful that you book the right room.…
Guesthouse Storu Laugar was full of magic for us. From the gorgeous sunset views to the stars to the Northern Lights in our own private hot pool... we would've moved in here if we could. We spent our days exploring the Lake Myvatn area and going dog-sledding at the kennel nearby! (We booked a tour in advance.) Our host was lovely and prepared an outstanding breakfast for us, even though we were the only guests for the night! The room is clean and comfortable. We remember this guesthouse so fondly and highly recommend it for a beautiful stay near Myvatn!
We recommend this guesthouse for your stay in the northern part of Iceland. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Location of the guesthouse is excellent, many interesting places in this part of Iceland are close and easy to be reached by car (waterfalls Goðafoss, Mývatn, Akureyri etc.). Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Wide room in a nice wooden building, very comfortable bed, good breakfast and hut tube available for customers. The location is quite good, among Husavik, Myvatn and Godafoss. Being Myvatn quite expensive, Storu-Laugar is a good solution.
The stay was very comfortable. Excellent location, small horse farm around, hot tub open till 11 pm in the night, lovely hosts and extra ordinarily good breakfast made with love and diligence. I loved my stay here.
Very nice place with a hot tub just outside. We stayed on the third floor and had it totally for outselves - like a salon to relax and have a drink after a long day. Great view of the valley. Breakfast was very plentiful and when we asked for lunch instead - sandwiches were delicious. Half an hour drive to Mivatn - for us it was a good base for 3 nights.
The host was accommodating despite our 9 p.m. arrival. Matched Booking.coms rate. Room was delightful and colorful and quiet. A downstairs kitchen allowed us to keep wine cold. Breakfast was one of the best of the trip as well.Loved the coffee machine. Loved the hottub outside as well.
Fantastic guesthouse with a central location to many activities and attractions in the area. The staff are warm and friendly. The accommodations are clean and the wifi works well. Breakfast includes some hot items, not just the normal cold foods.
Very nice woman there who greats the guests with nice smile and also she and her staff made excellent breakfast. They have a hot-tub also. The room had a microwave oven, but no refrigeratior. The silence there is great.
