Detailed Reviews
We were given a very nice and large room with access to the patio which is right next to a free hot tub! Water in the tub was nice and hot, perfect for a very cold winter's night. Room was very comfortable and hot water, coffee and tea is available along the corridor outside the room.
Breakfast and check-in/out is in a separate building, 30sec walk away. There was a great spread at breakfast with fresh waffles!

We had an awesome stay here. We had a warm welcoming even if we arrived late, the room is super nice and we loved the hot pot outside, that you can use 24 hours. On top of it : breakfast was excellent, and they even did it just for us, as we were the only guests this day. They know how to treat their guests, and we loved it ! Highly recommand

Very beautiful, cozy guesthouse with superb breakfast.
After a long day we really enjoyed staying in the lovely decorated and comfortable rooms. A highlight of this guesthouse is the warm hot ton directly in front of the house which you can use for free.

Very nice place with a hot tub just outside. We stayed on the third floor and had it totally for outselves - like a salon to relax and have a drink after a long day. Great view of the valley. Breakfast was very plentiful and when we asked for lunch instead - sandwiches were delicious.
Half an hour drive to Mivatn - for us it was a good base for 3 nights.

We recommend this guesthouse for your stay in the northern part of Iceland.
Our room was spacious and comfortable.
Location of the guesthouse is excellent, many interesting places in this part of Iceland are close and easy to be reached by car (waterfalls Goðafoss, Mývatn, Akureyri etc.).
Breakfast was good.
Staff was friendly and helpful.

Fantastic guesthouse with a central location to many activities and attractions in the area. The staff are warm and friendly. The accommodations are clean and the wifi works well. Breakfast includes some hot items, not just the normal cold foods.

The proprietors of this lovely establishment (Storu Laugar) assisted our snow stuck Happy Camper to become unstuck, drove us to to a lovely place for dinner, provided me my daughter and granddaughter with lovely room accommodations, allowed us full access to the stables, hot tub and provided a lovely breakfast the following day. Despite our ordeal this added to our memories. Cheeky and his wife are truly amazing, hospitable, gracious and definitely worth the visit should you be in need of lodging.

We stayed at this guesthouse for 4 nights, and used it as a base for the surrounding area. Our room was very spacious, and had a small kitchen and dining table. The beds were very comfortable, the room was cleaned every day, and the heating was very easy to control.
The breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice, including scrambled egg, with ham, and pancakes, which were hot if you timed it right.
There was a hot tub, but we didn't use it. We were out most of the time, and when we could have used it the weather was bad. They did provide dressing gowns, which would have been useful.
It was lovely to see the horses in their paddock when we got back each day.
The road up to the guesthouse was very bumpy, but after a while we learnt to avoid the worst potholes. There was a nice restaurant nearby, with a supermarket and petrol pumps.

+1
Stayed here for two nights. First we were assigned to a room in "the top" of the highest building (there are 3 separate buildings with rooms). Ver uninspiring room right below the roof where we hear the rain pattering on the corrugated iron roof.
Bathroom was a joke, only a bath with low water pressure and one small sink. No place to put your toiletry items.
After contacting the (lovely) lady in charge we were given an other room, located in the reception building. This was a nice clean room WITH a real bathroom with shower cabin, nothing luxurious but adequate.
Breakfast, as well as the two dinners we had here were good, three course dinners. Wine and beer is affordable here.
The lady owner (?) was nice and friendly.
If you want to stay here you must be careful that you book the right room.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and prepared a wonderful breakfast for us every morning. The location in the countryside was beautiful. We found the location very convenient for visiting all the places we wanted to see in northern Iceland. Water did come out of the shower stall under the door; that ought to be fixed, but otherwise it was a lovely stay!
