Detailed Reviews
This is a unique B&B that is literally off the beaten path.
You arrive along a 1+km long 'path' through the woods and have the most spectacular view over the trees to the lake from the resort.
Before even leaving the car, you are greeted by Sasha, a very friendly German Shepherd.
The hosts are incredibly nice and engaging and all the reviews discussing the great breakfasts are spot on. The rooms are not too large and have a comfortable bed. The common lounging areas all tie back to the rustic/cabin theming and are comfortable.
Pool and Hot Tub amenities make this an easy place to just sit back, hang out and relax.

The Stouffer Mill was the best bed and breakfast we’ve ever experienced. First of all the location is so peaceful with no traffic noise at all. The hosts Jessie and Don were like grandparents for us. Both were so incredibly welcoming and warm-hearted. They told us their stories and how the bed and breakfast was established. Sasha, their shepherd dog, greeted us when we arrived. It was interesting to learn how the mill was once constructed. The architecture of the mill is very unique because of its historical interior design featuring authentic elements. Jessie made us a delicious three course breakfast every morning that was so tasty and different every day. Then there was a outdoor pool and a whirlpool in the top floor which we enjoyed a lot.

Jesse and Don are the ultimate hosts who go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure your stay is memorable. The property is private, the accommodations unique and comfortable, the breakfast outstanding. Be sure to include dinner! It is very romantic, with spectacular presentation, and ambiance. Bonuses? There are a couple of top notch restaurants nearby, tons of lakes, skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, a wolf sanctuary... Highly recommended! Thanks again Jesse and Don for a memorable Valentine's Day weekend getaway!

Janice and I were blown away by the beauty of this BnB and its stunning surroundings---especially with colours at their peak in mid October. Don and Jessie were extremely welcoming hosts and their German Shepherd Sasha always greeted us and announced when we arrived from day trips to Haliburton or Dorset. The breakfasts were phenomenal. Hoping to make a return trip there, perhaps to ski Nordic trails in the region or snowshoe on the trails weaving throughout the 136 acres of their property.

The moment I was driving into the property ,I thought I was in the movie setting for Beauty and the Beast. Good that ,Sasha came out to greet us and guided us to this lovely place.
Star gazing ,sunrise over the lake and bird chirping like snow white in the garden., private trails.....
Lots of attractions close by ,just ask Jesse and Don. They are beautiful couples. I don't need to say much about the food !!!

Just left Stouffer Mills after spending 3 delightful nights there. Don and Jessie are indeed very hospitable and friendly and the daily breakfasts are suburb and large enough for my wife and I to forget about lunch. The German shepherd, Sasha, was also very welcoming and pleasant after announcing your arrival. The building is truly unique, octagonal in shape with beautiful wooden floors and a hot tub on the top floor. The beds and pillows were so comfortable that my wife and I slept in an extra hour each morning. The guest den had a TV with multi channels and the wi-fi was excellent and fast. All in all, an excellent 4 days spent there in an area we did not know well. PS be sure to visit the Wolves Centre about 30 minutes away.

This was a beautiful, relaxing property nestled into a forest overlooking some gorgeous scenic views. So uniquely decorated decorated with such an interesting history, it's a property unlike any other. With options of walking trails, relaxing by the pool, soaking in the hot tub, or sitting out on one of the many decks, it's a perfect place for a peaceful, relaxing time. The breakfasts were absolutely amazing. I'm not used to eating that much in the mornings but I definitely made room! This is a real Hidden Gem and I hope to get back there one day again. I feel very lucky and fortunate to have found it and have been able to stay.

Don and Jesse are great hosts and make you feel special and welcome. They give amazing food in the morning at the exact time you ask! Don helped us get up the driveway(snowy) and they both recommended many hiking and dining spots.
They are local guides to the area and are themselves what make this B+B so special!

What an amazing gem of a place! We had an amazing few days and Don & Jessie are the best hosts.
The snow came as we arrived which made the whole experience magical.
Jessie's breakfasts were awesome and their suggestions of what to do were spot on.
We loved the hot tub after a particularly challenging snowy walk in Algonquin!

Oops, carnarvan is the town name and here is the restaurant. Highly recommended. rhubarb restaurant.
Yes there is and also a fridge.
The bathroom is just a few steps down the hall. The Sleigh Room is very popular because it has a nice view overlooking the lake. Sorry for taking so long to answer your question. I just saw it. Don
