The official description is spot on - it must have been a good life for the original owners with their servants catering for their every need (less so for the overworked servants). We enjoyed our one night there but don't expect a slick city hotel service - for us it was part of the charm - but reading some of... More

This was our 3rd return to Tredethy this year. Having read the negative reviews, it is hard to believe those people were actually staying in Tredethy House. Each time we have been we have found Marco, his family and his staff to all extend a warm and friendly welcome and nothing is too much trouble, for example Marco provided us... More

We were so looking forward to this stay after reading the reviews but our stay was nothing like anything I'd read! The host barely said two words to us and seemed unapproachable. The continental breakfast was nothing like the photo. We had a few tiny croissants, some muesli, cornflakes, yogurt, fruit salad in which the apples had gone brown (leave... More

The house is beautiful and situated in a large park. The main room is élégant and Huge But il is very difficult to find it. No signalisations no explanations. We've got lost Many times. The family room is very simple for it's price. Breakfast are always the same even if you stay several days. Dinner is tasty but much more... More

We only stayed for one night as my husband was working in the area. Tredethy is a nice big old house set in the countryside. It has a relaxing atmosphere and the staff were pleasant and helpful. We were in a large room at the front of the house which had a big comfortable bed, great bathroom with lots of... More

After a lengthy and frustrating struggle with our Sat Nav finding Tradethy House we at last drove through the gates into a haven of peace, we parked on the lovely crunchy forecourt of the house and were greated by Marco who was cooly seated in the sunshine by the front door. He was welcoming and shook hands with us and... More

The second time at this lovely place after 2014 ! Impressive building with long history situated in a park. Marco is a friendly host and our large room facing the park with windows to two sides was just fantastic. Large bathroom we would wish to have at home ! The best central point to explore Cornwall with few miles to... More

Close to the camel trail to padstow although a big hill to get up to the hotel so recommend you drive down to the path! The hotel and room was clean tidy and well presented and the continental breakfast was lovely - eggs could be supplied at a supplement A shame that the restaurant only serves dinner at 7.00 as... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tredethy House is a beautiful, peaceful and informally elegant English Country House set in an area of outstanding beauty. Built in Tudor times and later extended, it has been the unique home of many British families and of Prince Chula of Thailand until the late sixties. A delightful and unique holiday spot today, Tredethy offers privacy and the blissful peace of the countryside whatever the season and is yet at easy reach of the North and South Coast as well as the many places of interest such as the Eden Project and the divine National Trust Houses and Gardens of Cornwall. The seven acres of grounds at Tredethy are themselves a piece of history with original planting like the most beautiful Hydrangeas and pink Rhododendrons. March hosts hundreds of narcissus, April is time for the breathtaking display of bluebells, followed by wild garlic and blue and pink wildflowers. Autumn is a fantastic season, full of colour and peace, and lots of anticipation for the festive season we all look forward to every year. ... more   less
