After a lengthy and frustrating struggle with our Sat Nav finding Tradethy House we at last drove through the gates into a haven of peace, we parked on the lovely crunchy forecourt of the house and were greated by Marco who was cooly seated in the sunshine by the front door. He was welcoming and shook hands with us and... More

The second time at this lovely place after 2014 ! Impressive building with long history situated in a park. Marco is a friendly host and our large room facing the park with windows to two sides was just fantastic. Large bathroom we would wish to have at home ! The best central point to explore Cornwall with few miles to... More

Close to the camel trail to padstow although a big hill to get up to the hotel so recommend you drive down to the path! The hotel and room was clean tidy and well presented and the continental breakfast was lovely - eggs could be supplied at a supplement A shame that the restaurant only serves dinner at 7.00 as... Spectacular views and great company. We had 4 rooms booked for my Nans 80th birthday. Marco and his staff were delightful. They made my Nans birthday so very special. The food was exquisite for both breakfast and lunch. The rooms were spectacular, clean and huge. They accommodated for all the family from ages 3 to 80!! Thank you so very... More

Tredethy House is a lovely house, however it's tired and needs sprucing up.... inside and out..the breakfast was ok, but when on holiday it's nice to have something a little bit special which tredethy house did not deliver! Slices of bread tiny pieces of ham and tasteless cheese is not my idea of a continental breakfast! Yes there were mini... More

We were invited to a wedding at Port Isaac on the North Cornish coast and booked a room for an overnight stay. This is a lovely house elegantly furnished and in a convenient location. It is in a good position for visiting the Cornish Coast and Bodmin/Wadebridge. Our bedroom was excellent and very well appointed. Everywhere is clean and well... More

Lovely warm and friendly welcome to us humans and Hugo our beagle. Spacious bedroom and bathroom that were clean and pleasant to be in. Breakfast was ample and wonderfully fresh. We stayed here for two nights and really liked the location, we'll stay again!

Allocated gloomy, foisty, damp smelling room. Bathroom with old carpets...ugh! Hand held shower and light popped in dusty lamp. Proprietor quite rude when we complained. Would definitely not recommend this hotel.

Stayed overnight whilst at the Eden Project, we found it easily enough but it is off the beaten track, although this ensures beautiful peaceful views. The house is beautiful, and although a little shabby in places it is clean and tasteful, and we all loved the feel of it. Yes the bathrooms aren't high tech and needed updating but that... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tredethy House is a beautiful, peaceful and informally elegant English Country House set in an area of outstanding beauty. Built in Tudor times and later extended, it has been the unique home of many British families and of Prince Chula of Thailand until the late sixties. A delightful and unique holiday spot today, Tredethy offers privacy and the blissful peace of the countryside whatever the season and is yet at easy reach of the North and South Coast as well as the many places of interest such as the Eden Project and the divine National Trust Houses and Gardens of Cornwall. The seven acres of grounds at Tredethy are themselves a piece of history with original planting like the most beautiful Hydrangeas and pink Rhododendrons. March hosts hundreds of narcissus, April is time for the breathtaking display of bluebells, followed by wild garlic and blue and pink wildflowers. Autumn is a fantastic season, full of colour and peace, and lots of anticipation for the festive season we all look forward to every year. ... more   less
