Small well-run guest house with nice swimming pool and pleasant rural surroundings. Good breakfast. Situated in non touristy San Pablo with some good local restaurants, and only a short drive to the charming villages of Gaucin and Jimena, which also have some terrific restaurants. If you want an uncrowded beautiful rural spot away from overcrowded tourist centres like Ronda, try this location.

We stayed at El Diplomatico Feo for 7 nights. Easy to find just outside San Pablo, with ample parking. Bruce and Ingrid are marvelous hosts, and their B&B is idyllic. Set in the countryside surrounded by greenery, Orange Trees and Avocado orchards. Each of the 4 rooms is a double, with en-suite bathroom, tea and coffee/kettle and AC. There’s also a mosquito net over the bed (which we didn’t use). Having been to Sri Lanka a few times we were really pleased to be in the “Sri Lanka” room. Breakfast each morning is a mix of freshly cooked/cold Spanish food and cereals etc. Pool is great to lounge by, with Bruce and Ingrid great hosts, always available to help and advise. There is a large supermarket in San Pablo, which is a 15-20 walk, and also 2 close restaurants nearby in the town, the pick of which is Le Estación. The food here is fantastic. The other restaurant Los Cachollas is the closer of the two and is good but not as nice as Le Estación. Gaucín is only 20 minutes drive away, and Jimena 15 minutes away as nearest bigger towns. Malaga Airport about 1 hour 50 minutes. There are also some fantastic walks in the area, one of which we did along the Gardiano River about 35 minutes drive away near Colmenar. Zoo de Castellar which supports rescued and trafficked animals is a highlight, 35 minutes from El Diplomatico.

Bruce and Ingrid offer warm, cheerful Canadian hospitality in this quiet, rural corner of Cadiz province, handy to many attractions and hikes. Amazing breakfast every morning on the terrace. One of the best pools we have ever experienced, we spent a whole day poolside. Our room was Sri Lanka with its big and intricately tiled bathroom. It's a great value as well. Be sure to visit La Estacion restaurant for dinner as much as you can. We especially enjoyed walking back under the stars with our headlamps.

four individually furnished rooms, large and spacious with en suite bathroom and fixed screens to keep the bugs out at the windows, each with their own personality: a garden with corners to sit and enjoy the warmth and the view: a meadow behind with 360 degree vista - a must as the sun is setting. Such generous hosts, making you feel welcomed, included and informed about the history, locality and best places to visit. A breakfast fit for kings...

This hidden gem has it all! What a great spot to explore one of the most spectacular, authentic, green environments of Andalucia. Bruce and Ingrid really bring you to another level of enjoying the moment. A great fusion of passion, humor, guidance and human warmth is almost overwhelming you. the infrastructure really exhales the authentic Morish architecture and is blended with many ornaments which tell a story related to the memories and places Ingrid and Bruce have visited as diplomats. If you love healthy and very tastefull breakfasts, this is really it. We have been travelling around already for 5 years in Andalucia and we can confirm that this is the best breakfast you can get in the area. A must to experience!
