We stopped here for a quick lunch bite on way to Colombo. they have both buffet and alacarte on the lunch menu. Alacarte has a lot of options. we chose to go with the buffet which had white rice, a few fish options (which I can't talk about as we have veg), 5 varieties of vegetable curries including Mallum and jackfruit curry. Good food overall. Rest rooms are very clean and this makes the place ideal for a pitstop.
Good place to have a college get together or a small wedding function. Food is not bad.but don't have much parking space. That's something need to improve. Have accommodation facilities also. Located about 15minutes from rathnapura town.
I stayed 2 nights for a wedding. It was worst place we have stayed. Floor dust, AC not working, water rusty, pieces missing on ceiling, I can describe lot more. I rang room service for morning Coffe no answer, later my wife found out that they close in the evening and no one available till late morning. I not recording anyone to stay there, I have not come a cross food what so ever.
Good location for a party. We participated there for the farewell of our one of chief manager. Great food. Nice surroundings. Easy to access since it is situated in the main road in Centre of Ratnapura and Kuruwita.
The hotel was probably once a charming property with colonial architecture. Except for the front section shown in the official photo this ambience is largely destroyed with tasteless and ugly additions and extensions in what is otherwise a large and quiet space, all of which seems to have been a waste since the hotel was virtually empty when I got there. Grimy windows everywhere, an uncleaned pool, all the public areas had gecko waste, cat fur, food crumbs and dust. In the room - dirty curtains, no intercom so various staff kept giving you their phone numbers to call them directly, moldy sections in the walls, sheets that don;t fit the beds so they come off when you sleep on them, drawers and cupboards full of dust. In the bathroom - dirty tiles, broken plaster around the pipes, a shower curtain that was covered in mold that I got removed, rusted soap dish, and a shower head that was oddly angled for a space that that was less than 3 ft by 4 ft. Apart from this rooms generally clean, the beds had real spring mattresses, the toilet was clean too. The management is courteous though extremely slow and the whole hotel had a decrepit air to it, almost as if the owners did not care whether it functioned properly or not and had given up trying to maintain it. The staff were also courteous and helpful but their hygiene habits is of concern - when I called in a roomboy to get rid off a cockrach that had found its way into my room from outside, he refused to kill it and instead threw it out in the back garden, which is near the kitchen! The food is mediocre and like many hotels below their price range they have a very limited selection of fresh vegetables and fruits, no fresh milk, no butter, and you have to specially ask if you want other stuff like like fresh curd and bread. Stick to ordering the Sri Lankan style dishes and at least you would get something tastily prepared.…
