Lake serenity is the most special place. We use this resort as a base for our interest in gems in Ratnapura, a twenty minute drive away. It is the most serene and peaceful resort, full of special plants and animal life, that is so close, you can reach out and touch it. Bird life is abundant for all the bird lovers. The staff are delightful and more than happy to fulfill your many requests. The restaurant , set on a lake, served superb food and delivered it with flair. 5 stars. The lake is full of fish , water monitors, turtles etc, and watching the birds fish in the lake is a wonderful sight. On site is a small gem shop, run by a lovely soul, with an assortment of gems and jewellery. He even takes you on gem tours. Rooms are spacious and filled with beautiful old furniture. They do need a little maintenance. We will return again to this magic that is Lake Serenity. ❤️

Beautifully located with a lake, pool and lots of greenery. This hotel gives you luxury and a service which take you by surprise. Great food and drinks with plenty of options. We were served with buffet and a-la-carte. I was there to celebrate Sri Lankan new year and had one of my best times. The staff are really welcoming and friendly and catered us with surprise meals and delights. They prepared a birthday and anniversary cake for us which took us by surprise. The rooms were nice and clean with a Sri lankan theme. The surrounding nature takes your 5 sences and makes you relax. We extended our stay as we really liked it and the staff was friendly to arrange our booking during a holiday period. It's also family friendly with many activities. Highly recommended.

Quiet and romantic place to stay, with a lake, tea field, organic farm, lots of birds and friendly staff. When I stayed there were two engagement photo shoots and a reception going on. The couples in Kandyan wedding dresses looked brilliant and celebrated. Cottage-style guest rooms ensure privacy. Only a few innocent visitors can get in peacefully if you leave the door open for a while. When I found a frog jumping on the floor it was a surprise but also a relief as frogs are known to be very sensitive to the environment. It convinced me that this is a truly eco-friendly resort.

The lake with green-looking water, tremendous birds, and organic cultivation of tea and various vegetables are the unique feature of the Lake Serenity Resort. We loved this hotel. Boutique, 17 bedroom hotel up a back road out of Kuruwita. The owner also has two tea factories and other business interests. The lakeside location is serene and offers many amenities. Staff are friendly, but food offering is limited - in particular when we visited and on one night we're the only guests. Pre- COVID this must have been a lovely hotel, but the pandemic and economy have taken their toll. Several areas are now being renovated, hopefully restoring it to its previous condition. Rooms are spacious and clean, with golf carts to move you around the site. Kuruwita is not very touristy, so good value and much less crowded than in the cultural triangle. Overall happy to come back in the fiture

Within one call everything was arranged perfectly. First, they sent us all the package details. So you can easily select one of them. We chose the candle night danka did a great job beyond our expectations. He has arranged everything from the beginning. The couple was too shocked and surprised. Thank you Sanka for your support. Less than 3km from the Kuruwita town which is 86 km from Colombo on Rathnapura road. An isolated place which is calm and quite. A beautiful natural lake in the premises. Could spot many varieties of birds.
Possible activities are Visit Diwaguhawa cave (Batathotalena) where Buddha rested after visiting Adams Peak. Even though it's an important for Buddhist, it's a gem in the Central highlands. 12 km from the hotel. Hike of a 220 meters. Worth the climb. No charge. Make sure you wear properly. Pants below the knees. Shoulders covered.
