A lovely retro homely place. Welcoming spotlessly clean comfortable centrally located quiet and we got the last room. Shared bathroom but not a problem at all. We would definitely come back. Great continental breakfast with hot eggs. Tea and biscuits very welcome.

Stayed here for 3 nights during Rørosmartnan (market week in February every year) It was absolutely a wonderful place, soo cozy with adorable interior furnishing. The staff is super friendly, and their food is truly homemade and local. I will stay here in all my future visits to Røros, it feels like coming home to family!! My room was super clean, quiet and nostalgic, I loved it : ))

Stayed for 2 nights to watch an outdoor performance in Røros. Had a very clean twin room with a water basin in the room. There were 2 bathrooms in the corridor, and we never had to wait for the shower or the WC. It is an old house, and it’s furnished and decorated with items from the 50s and 60s, very quirky. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast had everything you’d want, and delicious home made rolls and bread. The local Røros yoghurt can also be recommended. I would definitely stay here again, but if you’re particular about having your own bathroom, it’s not for you...

We heard about this place and wanted to try it. It was a very charming and cosy place to stay, where you moved back to the 60ties! All details from this time, clean and very friendly staff! It was an experience worth each krone!

The whole place was just amazing. There were piles of 1960's magazine lying about, even in the night stand drawers. The furniture was your granny's, the lamps, the rugs, the curtains--it was like being in a Norwegian heimat movie! The ladies who run it are all beautiful and young and sincerely friendly, even though they seem to be fully booked all the time and working hard. The breakfasts were amazing, fresh baked homemade bread and a dozen or more items; there were about five choices of jam alone! Coffee and tea are always available at no additional cost. The beds were comfortable and the showers down the hall clean and warm. Everywhere was clean and warm! I cannot recommend this place highly enough! It should be included as an experience in Norway, like the fjord tours! You have to feel sorry for the poor people who booked in hotels and missed this during their stay in Roros.

After a 10 day trekking trip, I finally arrived in Roros. I was looking for a place to relax for a couple of days before heading back home. The accommodation is located a 2 minute walk to the centrum with all the nice shops and 5 min away from the train station. It is also a good location to explore the surrounding area by foot, bike or what you have on your hand. From the outside it looks like a normal pension, but the inside reveals its lovely details from the past. Everything is from the 60s and put into the right place. Not too much, not too less. The comfy rooms allow you to get a rest before discovering the world heritage city. Even if shared, the bathrooms were by far some of cleanest I had ever seen. The stuff was really friendly and you can feel, they have put a lot of passion in this place. The price is great for what you get, breakfast will cost a bit extra, but is freshly prepared every morning. The garden will make you sit down and enjoy a couple of beers in one of those long nordic evenings. And for those wondering, they have WiFi in the 60s.

We had a weekend of hiking around Roros and learning more of the former copper mining township's fascinating history. We did so from the comfort of the wonderfully run and appointed Solheim Pensjonat. I can thoroughly recommend this accommodation. The owners have lovingly retained a nostalgic/heritage/vintage feel to the property with its furnishings and other touches which took us back decades to how Norway once was. The breakfasts were generous the rooms and facilities were very comfortable. The proprietors extended kindnesses to us which they need not have done and this made our visit go very smoothly. Thank you Solheim !

The rooms and the dining areas are delightfully retro in decor, whilst the two shared bathrooms for the first floor rooms are spotlessly modern and clean. A perfect combination for a vintage fan like me! The breakfast is lovely, with a selection of local food and homemade jams and breads, as well as the usual eggs, cereals and fruit etc. The staff who are also the owners are helpful, and even gave me a choice of two rooms when I arrived. There is a road at the front, so ask for a rear room if you're a light sleeper, but the roads aren't too busy so it wasn't an issue. Solheim Pensjonat is near the historical centre of Roros, and you can be in the beautiful main street in about 5 minutes on foot. I stayed in room 3, which is at the front of the property, but the house is set well back from the road. There is ample parking as well. If you want a true Norwegian experience with genuine hospitality, then you will love it here. I really enjoyed my stay here and wouldn't hesitate to book again!

We stayed one night here at Solheim Pensjonat. This is one om the most charming places I have stayed. I feels like stepping into a room from the 50's. The hostess was very helpful and friendly and the breakfast in the retro dining room was plenty and great with local specialities. If I come back to Røros this is definitely where I would stay!

booked the apartment for a 2 night stay here with my son and really enjoyed our stay. Modern it is not Friendly it most certainly is. we arrived early and asked if we could leave our bags while we went to explore the town and have some lunch. Saara greeted us with a warm and welcoming smile and off we went without our bags to weigh us down. Some time later I received an SMS message to let us know the room was ready whenever we were. We made our way along the town and checked in. It was like stepping back in time with the layout and décor lots of nooks and crannies books, magazines etc. Saara showed us round and before leaving said we should not hesitate to call her if we needed anything. What could we need it was like visiting a family member from a previous century. My son age 11 said it was like staying at his Nan's. The wifi worked fine and all kitchen needs were adequately catered for. Beds were comfy and clean, shower room with wc was airy and spacious. Saara sent another SMS that evening to make sure we were ok etc. If you are looking for peace and quiet home from home without all the modern day trappings then this I would wholeheartedly recommend. If I had one small negative then it would be the curtains which are a little on the small and thin side but I'm only picking. If ever I return to Roros then I will plan my trip around staying at Solheim Pensjonat. Thanks Saara
