Take main street straight up and then to your left, behind the church and you'll find this gem. A very traditional yet also very modern hotel with all the amenities that can be expected. Highly recommended. The room was traditionally equipped and styled. Very romantic. A fenomenal breakfast, with local dairy produce!!! Best ever!

I have so many accolades for this place, that I consider the negatives miniscule. Great location, one block from the historic shopping street...and as the lady who spoke to me on the phone said, "if you walk more than 15 minutes you have gone too far". This is in reference to how big the historic area is. The lady I spoke to on the phone when booking the room was so kind and helpful as well. She only took my name and phone number, no credit card was required to reserve it. I love that old fashioned way of doing things. Upon arrival, a different lady was so cheerful and nice to us and we were given the room far at the end of the hotel, #108 with the name "Fjellro" which means mountain in English. Sweet touch that they name the rooms. A very quiet room at that and very nicely appointed and comfortable. The hotel is filled with antiques which we had fun looking at all of them. The breakfast is served in the basement level in a beautifully furnished room where there was a huge abundance of selections and the same lady that was at the front desk walked around waiting on us and treating everyone like royalty. Coffee and sweet treats are available 24 hours a day in the extra sitting room as well as games to play and books to read. Okay, just a little about what some would feel negatives: There are only 5 parking spots which was full when we arrived. However, the lady allowed us (and one other car) to park overnight in front of the building. The hotel is in the old district and also an old building, but a portion of it is newer built. This is really not an issue because they did a fantastic job of making it look original. We had an absolutely great time staying here just one night, but an unforgettable one on August 11, 2019. Thank you so much Erzsheidergaarden staff. Tusen takk!

I booked this place as it belongs to "De Historiske Hotel "chain (I use it sometimes) but the place did not meet our expectations, I am afraid. The building is strange - lots of new-built-parts where for example our room was located - without historical character or charm. The room was very small and not really clean but as we were staying only one night I did not bother so much. I was glad to have my own shower gel and shampoo as there was not much in the bathroom. TV did not function (or batteries in the remote control were gone). The big pluss is coffee/tea/biscuits available all the time. Small parking (not possible to book) but a bigger place available ca 150 m. Breakfast was a little disappointing - the hotel is not cheap so you expect a little bit more I guess... If I remember correctly the staff could not understand either Norwegian or English when we asked about fried eggs. The check-out at 11 is a little bit too early. Good location in Røros is an advantage but the place is so small that you can stay anywhere and it will be sentral :-)

Hi magdabrekke, Thank you for your feedback on your stay. We are sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations. Every now and the the remotes need new batteries, we hope you let the reception know that you could not turn the TV on, and that there was not much soap left in the shower. This only takes a few minutes for us to fix. We are really glad to see that you enjoyed our living room with coffee/tea and home made biscuits/cake. The rooms should be clean and nice, we are sorry your room was not. Your feedback is important for us, thank you for taking your time to write one. And we hope you will consider us if you are visiting Røros again.

We were a little disappionted, regarding the high price; room was low and small and had several defects, bathroom too narrow for two persons, no air condition in spite of 32 degrees Celsisus. No restaurant, lounge without bar-facillity, very limited parking place (5 cars). Breaklfast consisted mostly on prepacked jams and tubes with rye.

Hello Canasta67, thank you for your feedback on your stay. You are right about the parking, we only have 5 parking spots in our backyard, but we also have a parking place 120 meters from the hotel, so all our guest should be able to park their car. About the breakfast, your description does not match what we serve here at the hotel. We do not offer anything prepacked (we are a environmentally certified hotel, so we do not use prepacked or plastic at the breakfast), we make our own jam and a lot of the food every day, and the things we do not make, we get from the local suppliers. It has been a really warm summer, and unfortunately we do not have air condition in any of our rooms. Our rooms are not on the bigger side, but we do have larger rooms, so if you are considering visiting us again, you can ask for one of our larger rooms. Our bar is open till 22.30 every night, but we do not serve dinner here. We are sorry that your stay did not live up to your expectations. You are welcome back anytime, and we hope that you will have a better experience.

Central hotel in Roros close to the church. Small and cute rooms, and with a nice and clean bathroom. Very charming. Food was good. Little minus that they thought a vegetarian eat fish. I have never seen fish growing on fields.
