Fabulous cottages within great scenic views. Party of twelve, each cottage was like home from home beautifully decorated and everything to hand, the games room and pool were an added bonus and greatly used by our party. A big thank you to gilly very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. 5 minutes away from bakewell inthe car and plenty... More

We had weekday stay at start of September, as a group of 4 adults and a toddler. We loved the cluster of cottages and our daughter loved the swing and swimming pool. Chatsworth house, bakewell, heights of Abraham were our trips out and would recommend all with a child. We could see how hard the owners are working to invest... More

The most positive recent reviews say most of what we would have written. 8 + a baby stayed in these two very well resourced cottages. Despite all the cottages being in full use, it didn't feel crowded. The swimming pool was obviously busy at times, but we took advantage of its early opening time (7am) and had it to ourselves... These cottages are located within a short driving distance to Bakewell. We stayed for 6 nights leading up to Easter. We also had two small dogs with us. There is a £15 charge per dog but it was worth it having them with us. There is a small field out the back where we could take them. Our visit was... More

Our family stayed in one of the larger cottages-The Farmhouse which was large enough for 6 adults and 4 children. Most of the comments made by previous reviewers stand. The kitchen was well equipped and we were left the basic cleaning materials. The farmhouse kitchen could benefit from an extra cupboard for storage of food. The bathrooms had hand towels,... More

Just returned from a weeks stay at this lovely venue. We stayed in Peveril, which is a one bedroomed cottage very near to the leisure centre, which meant we had access to WiFi in the cottage for my nine year old to play on his Kindle. Having said that he much preferred to play in the swimming pool and make... More

We have just returned from a week in Bluejohn cottage which we shared as 4 adults and 2 children. We were met by Gilly on arrival who was really lovely; very warm and welcoming and popped in a few times to make sure we were ok and to get the heating on (in August!). She also left the kids some... We spent four nights in the Blackbird cottage and found it to be perfect for what we needed as a base to explore the Peak District. It's ideally located a couple of miles outside Bakewell, and despite it being next to a main road at night time we couldn't hear any traffic noise from the bedroom. There's plenty to do... More

We stayed in Blackbird for what turned out to be an exceptionally cold week. Cottage was well equipped with everything we needed, the couple running the site were very helpful and responded quickly when we had a problem with the TV and later the shower Both being put right almost immediately. Only downside was the heating in the bathroom which... More
