Hotel's Favorite
I can't rate Willowbank highly enough - we have the most amazing stay. Firstly the views are breathtaking. I wish I could wake up to the view from our Morning Glory room every day... The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Everyone from Gina, Asha and chef Ron. Nothing is too much trouble. Chef Ron does a great breakfast, cooked to order. There are 2 beaches on site - Ocean Beach (my favourite) and Harbour Beach. Both are excellent. We were there end of March and had the beach to ourselves. The hotel is in a quiet area, but buses stop right outside and are frequent so it is easy to get to Hamilton, south beaches, and Dockyard. We also walked a lot, although there often isn't a pavement so I wouldn't advise walking with children along the road. There are bars a short bus ride away - Woody's was great if you want somewhere more lively on a Saturday night. Our stay at Willowbank was pure bliss and we would absolutely stay there again and again.

Willowbank resort on the island of Bermuda was so much more than we expected. The staff, the facilities and the accommodation were first class. The local people went out of their way to make our stay so special and we will certainly go back one day.

This was our first time traveling to Bermuda and during a pandemic. Stayed for 5 nights/6 days. The hotel sits on a beautiful side of the island with beautiful views and 2 private beaches that are great for swimming and snorkeling! Gina the manager and her staff were very helpful and welcoming. They made arrangements for taxi transport and had the room cleaned as requested. Pros- The location, the beautiful bridge, snorkeling conditions, reasonably priced, the staff , and food by Chef Ron. Cons- If you were expecting to have kayaks as pictured on the website readily available to you on the beach Or provided for you by the hotel, they are not. It is an independent company and a separate cost. Perhaps due to the pandemic,we stayed there and never saw a single person there to even rent one. Transportation- this is just a recommendation and not the fault of the hotel, but so many reviews recommend getting a bus pass to move around the island. We purchased a three day pass upon checking in and no one informed us that the buses were on strike. My recommendation is that before you buy any passes make sure to inquire about the buses and if they are on strike or not. Other than the bus transportation being a big disappointment, I would have to say the other one is the fact that I booked hotel via Expedia who advertised that continental breakfast was included in your stay. Much to our surprising disappointment, Gina the manager informed us that that was not the case. We met another family from PA who also booked via Expedia and also were under the same impression. Thankfully, there is a market nearby and there’s a refrigerator and microwave in your room.

Wow what a view. Warm winds and amazing sunsets and lovely staff and people. Willowbank is an amazing friendly resort perched on the ocean with two beaches and a lovely pool. The staff are fantastic with good selection breakfast always served with a smiling face. Weve been blown away by bermuda. The rooms are spacious and have everything you need. They are cleaned everyday and we had no issues with damp so dont worry about previous reviews. Fridge and microwave in room to make life easier. Bermuda is expensive for food and drinks. So we brought some with us *wine n snacks and also had dine around package eating in amazing restaurants so well worth the extra cash before you travel. We used taxis for longer trips and the local buses which were exceptional. The three or five day tickets were essential. Loved our friendly taxi drivers. Crystal caves were great and dolphin quest was out of this world. Willowbank we will be back but we loved off season.

Before I came to hotel I call to make sure I get what I pay and I spoke to Gina the Manager she confirm over the phone not problem will be get a king bed but what surprise when I was at hotel I found two beds. We are so tired we arrived almost midnight so when I woke up next day I went to the reception and I spoke to the other manager because first I complain about the bed second the sink on the bathroom was clogged the door didn’t close the faucet make noise we can’t sleep last night the closet door didn’t work the door was fall in parts He told me I will fixed it but about the bed I had to speak with Gina and she will arrive on Monday afternoon. Breakfast everyday all the same didn’t have creativity to do something different, The beach mention was private when we arrived it was a tiny beach thank God was crowded if not we didn’t have enough space and wasn’t clean all around. Finally I went to speak to Gina and I asked her what happened about with talk over the phone and she said to me we are booking and what it is but I told her but what you didn’t mention before I came because I will change to other hotel because I told you I had a baby but she doesn’t care so I spoke to Expedia because I was bought with them they tried to do something but the told me the same is the hotel available but I said to them I ask before I came but the end was the worst experience in the hotel service and I forgot the housekeeping if you didn’t see and spoke to them directly about what you want the receptionist never said anything i didn’t recommend this hotel was a nightmare experience since I was there. The odor in the room was terrible .

We stayed at the Willowbank for 7 nights in December/January. Overall, the resort was great for the price! You do have to be open to exploring, as there isn't much to do on the Resort (other than breakfast, beach, pool and room). Pros • Beautiful view- highly recommend an ocean front room • The resort offers great discounts with partnered restaurants, spas and golf courses when you book directly with them- make sure to inquire! • Very affordable compared to the other hotels • Secluded beach • Very close to bus stop (would recommend getting a bus pass to get around, very easy and convenient and much more affordable than taxis) • Grocery store was a short bus ride and was great for grabbing drinks and snacks for the room • The breakfast area has a microvave and toaster if you want to heat up a meal later in the day • Comfortable beds and linens • Cleaning staff did a great job • Overall staff were friendly • Breakfast was great and included in the price • Great wifi connection and great TV channels Cons • Rooms need some upgrading- Doors slam all night with heavy gusts of wind- sliding glass door stuck/broken- no ventilation in bathroom, so the entire room feels damp after a shower- Bathroom overall was dated and could use some upgrades. • Our patio only had 1 chair? • The resort claims to offer complimentary tea, coffee, ice water and ice tea all day- but never seem to actually refill when empty or refresh. One day I decided to inqire and ask the front desk staff about refilling the water, and their response was "no one was there to do it", so not very helpful in this case. • Pool could have some more privacy • It wasn't a busy time of year, but occassionally would find the front desk staff would disappear during the day • No food served after breakfast. It would be awesome if the resort could offer a basic snack bar with simple menu options so you don't always have to leave the resort for meals

Our Family spent 10 days at the Willowbank Resort and I can't say how happy I am about our choice. My whole family was able to affordably stay at an oceanside resort in Bermuda that included comfortable beds, sandy beach and an excellent hot breakfast. Since we were there for a Destination Wedding the facility was perfect and everything we needed was available Danyell, Gina, Ron and staff made us feel very special.

We spent 5 days here in December 2019, and paid around $80 per night USD. At that price, it was fine. PRO: * amazing views from the room! We had an oceanfront king room and the sunsets were lovely. * great wifi and TV everywhere. You have an IP tv and will get thousands of channels including local Canadian stations. * free filtered water and iced tea all day long (like Nestea iced tea). *staff were super helpful and endlessly nice. That’s pretty much the case for all of Bermuda. * towels were super fluffy and soft! CONS: * the rooms need updating badly. The furniture is like leftover 1980s from Grandmas and often stained. * what you get in your room will vary. Some rooms have a dresser, some don’t. Some have two chairs and a desk others have one sad chair. You might get a kettle or a coffee maker. But, if there is anything you want just ask and they will happily deliver. * the rooms have no ventilation the bathrooms so after a shower your entire room will be wet and constantly smell a bit musty. We wound up showering with our patio door wide open just to try to vent a bit. Your clothes, towels, bedding, floor will always feel a bit damp. * breakfast is fine but a bit boring. Same scrambled eggs and bacon and potato wedges every day. * it’s pretty far from the airport. A cab will run you between $60-70 USD each way. * food options are limited without leaving the resort. 5 Star pizza will deliver to your room but a pizza is like $35 USD. There is a grocery store about 1 km away so easily walkable just make sure you walk facing traffic as sidewalks are not always there. We easily picked up some microwave dinners and had those one night in our room. As long as you are not expecting a 5* resort, it’s fine for the price.

What can we say, other than WOW! We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Willowbank. The staff was incredibly friendly and the facility was excellent. It is located "off the beaten path" away from the more tourist-y places. That makes it nice and quiet and even more relaxing. The price was also great, especially when you consider the grounds, the service, the rooms, and the atmosphere. Our room was absolutely perfect, on the far end of the buildings with an amazing view of the ocean to the west, which means we could watch the sun set into the water. We had a great veranda on the room and spent a lot of time just sitting outside enjoying the weather and the view. Being right above the water, we could sleep with the window open and hear the water lapping onto the beach all night long. Breakfast was delicious every day...with a decent selection of food, all fresh and the cooked items were perfect. If you are not into the mopeds, Willowbank has a bus stop directly across the street going into Hamilton and one just a couple of blocks down for the return. We had the best time there and will absolutely go back in the future.

The Willowbank Resort in Sandys parish offers a remote and delightful Old Bermuda experience at an affordable low-season price. A convenient two-hour flight from Boston, a painless immigration and customs process and an efficient airport shuttle enhance the appeal. The sprawling hillside oceanfront property features a couple dozen cottages in faded pastel shades of pink, yellow, green and blue, each with the island’s trademark white limestone tiered roof. Weathered stone walls and palms, sea grape trees, hibiscus and unique Bermuda cedars add to the pastoral ambience. The tasty complimentary al fresco breakfast buffet includes fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, banana bread, sautéed tofu with grilled veggies, spicy hashbrowns, orange juice and more, all taken with an unobstructed view of the open Atlantic. Sunday brings the traditional salt cod and boiled eggs and potatoes with an onion-butter and/or tomato sauce. A 24-hour beverage station holds cold purified water, iced tea and coffee. We spent mornings serenaded by birdsong beside the pristine junior Olympic pool – alone – on comfortable lounge chairs. Later, we retired to one of two private secluded beaches with powdery sand, rock formations and crystal clear, calm turquoise water. Fish jumped, turtles surfaced and sailboats bobbed. A meadow slopes down to Inspiration Point, where we fortunately caught the elusive green flash at sunset. Our spacious harbor-view Oleander No. 2 came with a fridge, micro, ample dresser and closet space and dreamy king bed. Sliding screen doors on the veranda let in the soothing night sounds and cool breezes.
