Good place to relax for those who love peace and quiet. Pet friendly. Beautiful park around and interesting interiors. Simple, homey food offered. Be warned: it is an old manor and wooden floors and ceilings are creaky and let some noises through from the neighbouring rooms, but luckily people who come to stay there generally like silence. Very helpful host. We will definitely be back.
I'd like to be able to review the hotel but, despite the fact I booked in August for a November stay, I never did get to check in. I arrived at the property at 3:00 pm (i.e. one hour *after* the allowed check-in time). I must admit I was a little disconcerted to see no other cars there and only one dim light inside the hotel. Nonetheless, I parked and took my luggage to the main door, only to find it firmly locked. I knocked and rang but nobody came. I then noticed a sheet of paper wedged into the door which told you to ring a mobile number if no-one was there. Pretty irregular having no staff on duty at an hotel, but hey ho, I rang the number. No answer. So I left a voicemail and went to sit in my car to await developments. Developments came there none. After half an hour had elapsed I sent a text to their mobile number. No reply. I waited until 4:00 pm, by which time it was getting dark. At this point I decided to cut my losses and find alternative accommodation for the night, which I am happy to say I did. Around 6:00 pm, Dwor Dawidy called my mobile. THREE hours after I had tried to check in. Little late by then and moreover I didn't receive a word of apology. This hotel might be very good if you are lucky to arrive when they decide to open. But their treatment of me was the worst I have experienced in many years of international travel.…
This is an old hunting lodge in what was the Kingdom of Prussia. The owner has spent the last several years in a labour of love , to restore the building and open it as a hotel this year. There are 5 amazing rooms and 2 gorgeous lounges with open log fires. I enjoyed the best nights sleep I have had for some time, peace and quiet and total relaxation. The owner is a really lovely gentleman who will do all he can to make your stay comfortable and is great to chat to , about the history of the property. Ask to see the before and after photographs. So if you find yourself anywhere near this region , go and stay for a night or too and enjoy the fresh air , the peace and log fires. I am sure in the future as well he plans to have some themes and events , like cookery weekends , I for one would love to do something like that.…
