My wife and I stayed in this hotel in June 2022 and spent a few days relaxing in Brenna. The room was comfortable and had all the usual requirements. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and the hotel had made a big effort to make people feel comfortable. The hotel had a beach and we had a very enjoyable evening watching an outdoor film 'Mumma Mia' sipping wine as did many other people. We couldn't use the spa treatment area because it was fully booked during our stay, but the list of treatments are quite extensive and would suggest you book prior to arrival. I would recommend this hotel as clearly I believe the management are keen to look after guests and provide things to do.

Best hotel in Poland I ever stayed. The hotel is located centrally and you find all in a walking distance. It has a good ambiance and room's are very well maintained. One thing which impressed me was the staff politeness, they were very friendly and humble. The zurek soup was awesome. Thank you. Keep up the good work!

I have just returned from a week's stay at Kotarz; myself and my partner took a 5 night spa package followed by an Easter stay, all with breakfast and dinner included.

The hotel is very well located in a small quiet village: there is a bus stop just outside the hotel and an ample space for parking as well. There is good access to many hill walking paths from Brenna and I truly recommend this area to those who are tired of crowded Zakopane.

The rooms are elegant and beds exceptionally comfy with deep matresses. However, when booking remember to mention whether you want to have a double or twin, as most rooms are twins and the hotel say they don't have king sized beds: they will join two single beds together to make the double (which seems to be common practice in many hotels in Poland...). The rooms overlook the river or the street: again, worth asking for a river view when booking, also access to a balcony is a bonus.

Restaurant is again very elegant; food is traditional Polish cuisine and during Easter there was a good variety of delicious Polish dishes: it was well cooked and well presented.

Spa area is probably the best aspect of the hotel: if staying in a quiet period (like we did, before Easter crowds arrived:), you can use the pool (not very big but enough for a splash) and the many different saunas as part of your package, and this is really great. Generally fuss free and clean, with nice decor. There is also an exceptionally well equipped beauty salon but you have to pay extra for treatments.

On the downside, the hotel does not have ANY information translated into English: menu is only in Polish, the descriptions of the spa facilities are only in Polish, there is very little 'induction' into using the spa and the hotel rules and regulations for someone who doesn't speak or read Polish. The reception staff speak some English but not all fluently: there is room for improvement here, if the hotel want to target international clients: and I think it should, as it is really good standard.

It would also be quite nice if the reception staff were a bit more pro-active (rather than just reactive to questions), and explained a bit about the area, Beskidy mountains, had some maps and information, etc. We were given a room key only and off you go, find your way around... You also have to pay extra for slippers and a dressing gown. Also, we had problems with noisy neigbours (something that the hotel acted on) and a smell of smoke in the corridor, coming from a designated smoking area: if you are not Polish and a non-smoke, you must bear i mind that although the hotel is a no-smoking hotel and you are not allowed to smoke in rooms or corridors, there is a designated smoking room with general access, which stinks like hell. Perhaps make the hotel a smoke free place altogether, considering it is after all a wellness place? :)

All in all, very happy with the stay and the facilities, definitely recommend the hotel but do suggest that the hotel take some effort in ensuring some of the important information (e.g. in the hotel welcome pack in the room) is available in English too.

I was booked into this hotel on a buisness trip and told breakfast was served at 0800h, a little late but ok, then at 2130h the night before was told breakfast would be at 0900h and no compromise!
I requested to speak with the manager, but was told they were unavailable.
When I said I would have no alternative but to check out and relocate to Ustron, if this was the case, I was told bluntly as the receptionist turned her back "OK"!!
I have stayed in Ustron before (much the same type of town but bigger with more atmosphere) and would recommend any of the Hotels there offering the same facilities at a more competitive rate with friendly staff ready to please.
I will not return here or recommend to any of my colleges due to visit in the coming months.

Enjoy my stay at Kotarz, the staff are very pleasant and helpful. The facilities are very good - saunas, steam room and swimming pool. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well equipped. Wide range of good food served in the restaurant and at the breakfast buffet. Brenna is beautiful location with some restaurants, bars/cafes and bakeries in the locality.

I stayed 1 night in Hotel Kotarz in June 2019. The hotel is situated in the centre of Brenna just on the river bank. It is surrounded by forest in nice typical Beskydy nature. The room was outdated with broken lock and quite warm. There was no AC in the room. You will be provided with complimentary water at the beginning of the stay. That’s nice. The breakfast was fine with average choice of Polish meals. The receptionist had poor English, but the check in and check out procedure was flawless. Average hotel with outdated rooms in overall.

Nice hotel with swimming pool and sauna. Restaurant and ice cream bar located right next to the hotel. Prices are good and the staff is very friendly. There's also climbing track for some action if that's your thing. Shopping is also available right next to the hotel

Stayed 2 nights in Hotel Kotarz, Brenna. Quiet area. Rooms are cozy, wooden furniture. Fast internet. Receptionists speak little little English so be patient...but...DO NOT EAT IN HOTEL KOTARZ! At least 7 people from our group had food poisoning after eating here. We had a dinner in Hotel Kotarz on June 6. The following day, on June 7, an ambulance had to come because of fever, abdominal cramps, vomiting and diarrhea we experienced. I left Hotel Kotarz on June 7 around midday and was VOMITING IN THE TRAIN on the way back home and the same during the following night. Since then I cannot reach the Hotel Director via phone (switched off) and the guys from the reception have no information to share. It is important to know that from June 5 (dinner) till June 7 (breakfast) I only ate in Hotel Kotarz. I personally cannot believe that this could happen in 2019 in the EU country, I mean the hotel approach. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.

Response from Recepcja K, Manager at Hotel Kotarz
Responded Jun 12, 2019
I am so sorry for the situation that happened to you. The A&E doctors however didn't detect food poisoning. After the incident we've had a food hygiene control which also didn't detect any incorrectness in food storing or peppering process. At the moment we are waiting for water test results. According to the contact with reception, you were informed by our receptionist that the hotel management staff will be on site on Monday and that you could phone after weekend or contact via email. I ensure you that none of our phones was switched off. Klaudia Marek Director
