We booked our campsite several
months ago and luckily we were still able to go. Lisa was really accommodating and explained that a restroom would be available to us, just no shower due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Our site was great and partly shaded. The restrooms were very clean and staff cleaned them often. The store was well stocked with anything we needed. The beach was nice as well. Great to take a dip on a hot day. We would stay again!

One thing we did notice is that not all the sites are shaded so I recommend checking with them when you book to ensure you know what you are booking.

We had booked months in advance and close to our arrival they contacted us a switched us to a lakeside site that came available. Wonderful sunsets and very quiet lakeside with fire each of our 3 nights. The camp is located just outside of Little Current and was ideal for us as a "base camp" to explore the rest of beautiful Manitoulin Island. The reception on arrival was extremely helpful pointing out numerous sites to visit and the camp office staff were attentive throughout our visit. Only downside was the toilets being completely closed. (We stayed at 5 camping parks on our trip & Batman was only one with no washroom available). Notwithstanding, would recommend this camp.

Stayed here for two nights in August with two families (4 adults and 4 kids) and we all loved it. Clean, well kept campground with all of the amenities you could ask for including paddle boards, canoes etc. Next time we will stay longer.

We were disappointed by Batman’s; the campground is cramped and seems to be mostly for untidy stationary trailer home for seasonal rentals, not for campers. We drive an 18 foot converted cargo van and all of our camping has been in provincial & national parks so far, where there is more space, privacy and cleanliness to the sites and washrooms than Batman’s.
The first site we were assigned, #12, was tiny, no view, and right up against a trailer home and the next site. The nice lady in the Office gave us#45 for the night, which had a lake view and was much nicer. However, nothing else was available the second night so we departed and found a much nicer site at Lillians Camp Ground, next to Lillians Craft Shop. At this site we are right on a clean beach with a wide view facing North.
Batman’s is likely popular because it’s the first campground off route 6 and they advertise heavily…but keep looking if you want a cleaner site, more privacy and better views.

On February 24, we made a reservation for Site 10 at Batman’s Cottages and Campground on Manitoulin Island, for June 15 and 16. Our plan was to camp our way from Craigleith Provincial Park (Collingwood), to Willow Lake Campground (Woodstock), and then proceed up the Huron Shore, camping at the Pinery, Point Farms, Inverhuron, Sauble Beach, and then to take the ferry over to Manitoulin Island. So, we reserved two nights, June 15 and 16, at Batman’s Cottages and Campground on Manitoulin Island. We paid them with our Visa on February 24. a total of $125.43.

But the Premier of Ontario announced new restrictions on May 23, and no campgrounds were/are to be opened before June 14. So we cancelled all of our reservations. We have received full refunds now from six campgrounds. But NOT from Batman’s. They first attempted us to accept a credit for the 2022 camping season. We said, no, we wanted a refund on our credit card. They (a certain Lisa) said their policy was to charge one night’s camping in that event, even though we were cancelling 23 nights before our June 15 arrival date.

We find that very unfair. It feels like gouging to us. They have refunded $67.52 of our initial $125.43 Visa payment.

We will never reserve at this campground again. I found this campground listed in Camping in Ontario. Batman’s treatment of us gives this publication a very bad name as far as we are concerned.

We were told the internet would be available prior to our visit and we had booked many months in advance in order to receive a good placement for our RV. We did not however know that we would not have any Internet at all and would need to use our own Data which we needed for a trip out West the week after our Batmans Visit. We would have to walk to the store and sit at a table or just stand around to use their Wifi. Our spot and overall Customer service was A+ or 5 stars, we are a technical family and could have used this feature.

First trip to Manitoulin and stayed at Batman campground. Unfortunately it had been raining so the lot we were given was very wet. We couldn’t park without stepping into a huge puddle so I asked the office if they could reassign us since there were other vacant lots. They wouldn’t accommodate so we had to wiggle in and park on an awkward angle to avoid the massive puddles. There was NO GRASS so we had to sit on a muddy lot that never did dry up because the lots are so heavily treed with no sunlight. Further, we found out that we didn’t get a sewer lot because we stayed 5 days instead of a week yet we paid the same per night. Would never go back to this campground.

Beach was nice, sites were well maintained. Owners went out of their way to help us reserve horseback riding reservations and even brought us back worms from town.
The shop had lots of things you might forget to bring along, as well as some snacks . Nice park for kids to play at and a beautiful starry sky .

Wonderful experience for families. We camped in our trailer at the very end of September and were lucky to get a lakefront site. Sites are generous, nicely treed for privacy and many have beautiful lake views. Staff are warm, kind and extremely helpful. A welcoming and safe environment for children, with many amenities on site including boat rentals and local fishing tips :) Thank you for a terrific experience.

This is our second visit to Batman Cottages and Campground. We absolutely love it here. The campground is very quiet. The owners are always available snd are very much involved in the daily routines. The washrooms and showers are immaculate! The entire campground is so well looked after. The bay is quiet and a perfect spot to enjoy all sorts of water sports. We will return for many years to come.
