We were supposed to travel last year in May 2020, but due to pandemic we emailed them in 1st week of April 2020 for cancellation due to pandemic. They replied with an email promising that they would refund us 100%, but till date they haven't refund us a penny. I am surprised that it's a 4-5% property and they haven't kept their word till date just giving fake promises. My family has suffered financial and personal loss and this amount means a lot to me and cannot afford to loose. Off late they are not even replying just turning a blind eye. We stayed here for a night. The room we had was spacious and nice except for the bathroom. The paint on the bathroom wall was peeling and looked horrible. The shower worked well though. The water pressure was good and there was plenty hot water. Electricity outage was common and we had it for a few hours in the late afternoon but even when the electricity worked, the room was quite dark. It also got noisy with dog barking at night so bring earplugs. The staff was polite but uninterested overall. The food served was average.
We stayed for one night on our excellent Swallow Tail tour for three. The staff were attentive and polite. Both the public rooms and our rooms were clean and attractive with wood panelling. There was no lift to our first floor rooms but our bags were delivered. Our rooms were spacious with a large comfortable bed, tea making, desk and chair, lounge and coffee table. There was wifi but no television. The bathroom was convenient with a large hot shower. The down side of our rooms was the lighting. There were three lamps with attractive paper shades but it was just not bright enough. On the first floor there was a bar and a large attractive restaurant with a wood heater where we had both breakfast and dinner. The food was fine and the portions were very generous. The breakfast cinnamon porridge was the best that we had in a month on the sub-continent. The service was courteous and attentive. The hotel was not in the village but it had lovely views.…
The best place to be in phobjika valley , very comfortable with a Bukhari and electric heater my 5 stars say it all as everything from staff to food was excellent. Will be back in April 2020 Peter Lobo
Had a great stay here... Rooms were cozy and well heated, although I would have liked the wood stove to be used instead of electric heating. Dinner was fantastic and location could not be beat. Had some nice walks down to the valley in the morning
What a quaint little , beautiful place to stay in - we only wished we could have stayed here one more night ! Very cold outside in december , but the rooms are warm - with a fire place and room heaters to use....the rooms are big enough for a family of 4 adults (with an extra bed). The hotel staff are very courteous and soft spoken. Rooms are all very cleanly maintained. The inhouse restaurant is on the 1st floor , and my word , does it offer an amazing view of the valley ! Food quality is also good. Worth a stay !!!
In December it's cold in Phobjikha valley, but the hotel is mostly warm and cosy, with both stoves and electric heaters in the rooms. The dining room has a large central wood burning stove and the usual self-service food offerings. The staff were polite and welcoming but it was difficult to talk to some of them as they did not all speak English well. The rooms are well appointed though the lighting is dim so late night reading is a bit of a challenge (I asked for and got a reading lamp). There was a power cut one night - the whole valley was affected so not a hotel problem per se. The location is however perfect - brilliant views of the Phobjikha valley and the surrounding mountains. We hiked along the valley and up to the Gangtey monastery - quite strenuous for some of us thanks to the 3000m+ altitude. But well worth it to see the cranes as well as many other birds that frequent the valley.…
It was a nice stay after a beautiful day with hiking and watching the Blackneck Crane. It was cold but we had our own stove in the room so no problem at all. The bed was fantastic so we were happy here.
Very goos service from the hotel staff. Very friendly and helpful and accommodating. Average spread for food, but good enough, cozy rooms. Good hot water, even in December time. Happy we stayed here in this hotel.
This was one of our favourite places to stay in all of Bhutan. The hotel rooms and dining area have a gorgeous view of the valley. The ambience of the rooms is really nice, mainly due to its wood interiors. Rooms have a chimney and electric heaters. We also had a massage and it was quite a pleasant surprise as we weren’t expecting much. Food is very decent, generally buffets for breakfast and dinner.
