A lovely hotel crafted in Bhutanese traditional style. We had a great spacious room overlooking the most wonderful view of the Phobjika Valley with its green valley sweeping towards the distant mountain. This is the best hotel to stay during the migration of the black-neck cranes from Tibet in winter as it overlooks the wetland but sadly we were there... More

A little old ... actually stayed 2 years ago but forgot to review on TA. SO here it goes ... By the time we got back to our car after walking through the Gangtey Village and went looking for Hotel Dewachen, where we were booked, it had started drizzling in Gangtey Valley. So what we had a long day driving... More

We were in the valley to visit the Gangtey Sangnak Choling Monastery and, sadly, not to see the black-necked cranes - wrong time of the year. The hotel again consisted of rooms in blocks away from the main building. the rooms were very spacious and the bed comfortable. Again, the drawback to this style of hotel was getting between your... This is perhaps the best place to stay in Phobjikha valley but that is not its only qualification. The Deluxe rooms are lovely quite big in size even for the 3 of us. It faces the beautiful Gangtay valley. The washroom was quite well equipped. Food was fixed menu but was very tasty. The people were friendly and the stay... More

Travelling through Bhutan with walks in the valleys in March. This traditional & colourful hotel lives up to its fame. It was apparently set-up in a small corner of the valley by someone associated with the original NatGeo tours - in fact, there was a group from NatGeo staying here while we were. What views! You can sit in the... More

This hotel is beautiful inside and outside. The rooms are large and comfortable with fantastic views. There is a wood burning stove in each room with plenty of wood for each room. The staff is fantastic as well the food. The location is close to many places to visit before or after your stay.

Amazing interiors and view from the room. Perfectly placed, you neither have trouble reaching the hotel nor you will be missing the scenic Valley view. Buffet dinner was average but not dissatisfied, but slightly overpriced. Staffs were very co-operative and offered their assistance throughout the stay. One of the best stay in the valley.

Building, rooms, food, service are all exceeding our expectation. All 8 of us were happy, esp. with the hospitality of the Dewachen team there. Rooms & buildings are not par with Uma or Aman, but they are decent, despite a couple of disruption to electricity supply. Location is great. IF only the management can improve the park/lawn in front of... More

About: Phobjhika valley is a great place to be.... if someone wants a week off from the city life tensions.. Phobjhika Valley is THE place to be... actually Bhutan itself is beautiful like all other Himalayan places. Phobjhika Valley is an U-shaped glacial valley, also known as Gangteng Valley named after the impressive Gangteng Monastery of the Nyingma sect in... More

I stayed for 1 night in this hotel, basically a stopover enroute from Bumthang to Paro. The hotel does not have wifi and room has no TV. Considering the remote area, my guide told me this is one of the better hotels in Gangtey. The view of the Phobjika valley is great. Room is very spacious, with twin beds. Only... More
