We only stayed for half a night, because we discouverd bed bugs and had to change the Hotel. They reacted rather unfriendly and did't take our problem seriously. We could cancle our booking free of charge, but I would't recommend going if you don't want bugs around.

A nice hotel with spacious & clean rooms at a fantastic location at the very quiet Nilaveli beach, The superfriendly owner and staff are making every effort for a great stay. The restaurant is serving delicious food. The rice & curry is one of the best ones we had in Sri Lanka! At night the tables are being placed at the beachfront for a wonderful cadlelight dinners. Great ayurvedic massages are offered as well. Definitely a place we'd reccomend!
Nice hotel, fantastic beach front location, comfortable beds, good AC, clean. However the WiFi was nearly nonexistent. Connection in the room didn’t work, in the restaurant you get poor connection. The western food offered isn’t great, the menu choice is limited, and the waiters nearly always forget what you ordered or bring the wrong thing. But I would still stay there because it’s a heat value for the money.
Traveling alone and planning to SCUBA dive every day I wanted a place nearby the dive centre. Having no interest in exploring the country and no desire to find any sort of party town this accommodation fitted my requirements perfectly. The rooms are clean, and the staff most accommodating. Located directly on the beach alongside the dive centre and well out of the more populated areas the hotel provided an oasis of peace and tranquility. The food available is simple but good, the restaurant is the only place to sit and spend time unless you wish to lie on the sand on the beach. Loungers are available but neither the uncomfortable restaurant chairs or the loungers have any sort of cushioning to encourage people to spend time. If your only interest is a one or two night stop to dive this basic hotel is perfect, if you intend to roam the island find an alternative.…
We stayed in the low season @ highpark and enjoyed it. Food was OK , Rooms are clean. Beach is great, but there s too much plastic in the ocean :(... Thanks for the Beach Bodyguard Rex and the Airport Taxi.
Stayed here 2 nights. Chrishant the manager is very helpful. Breakfast was good SriLankan as well as European. Dinner wasn't so great . Especially their specials were disappointing. Although this was still out of season . Rooms clean and beds good .
We chose to stay at High Park because we were told is a hop away from Nilaveli dive centre. We were pleasantly surprised to find this piece of heaven- a lush green property with clean and comfortable rooms along with their own private beach. Our room was next door to the dive centre (two steps away!), which was a plus. Dilip/Dilipa made sure our stay was as comfortable as it gets. A cozy resort nestled in nilaveli- high park is going to leave you satisfied. Service, hygiene, food- all get 5 stars from us. Their srilankan curry and rice is delicious! The owner himself is a friendly person keen to make sure you have a good time. When we do go back to nilaveli, staying here is going to be unquestionable.
WE chose to stay in one of the wooden cabbanas instead of the air-conditioned rooms. The cabbanas are at the back of the property about 50 meters from the beach. Overall the cabin was very nice and comfortable for our one week stay and we didn't mind the lack of air-con even though the temperature outside was +35C during the hottest moments of the day. The only down side of the cabin was a poorly fitting mosquito net, which took some time to adjust to fit the bed nicely. Otherwise, the stay was great and top marks for the staff for making the best effort to help us with any requests we had. This is a great place to stay if you plan to dive with Nilaveli Diving Centre as they share the property with High Park Hotel.
We went there after the hotel we had initially booked turned out to be a complete disaster (ocean way hotel). We were lucky to have a room that they arranged to fit all four of us, it was a lifesaver! The location is great, right in front of the beach. Rooms are very clean with nice beds. The price is amazing comparing to other hotels in the area! The hotel manager is an efficient, well-educated man and provides an outstanding service in every aspect. A pleasure to have met him! We strongly recommend this place and we are really surprised about the negative comments that we have read about it, for us it deserves a 6/5!
