We went to this hotel as a group of motorcyclists for a friends stag do and to ride the amazing roads of the Peak District. The owner of this hotel was amazing, made sure the bikes were safe and set up a TV in the bar just so that we could watch the Rugby.Food was also excellent. Definitely going back... More

Privately owned and run hotel in delightful setting. Lovely welcome by smartly dressed reception staff who took us to our room. This set the standard for the rest of the stay. The room was of a good size with a large comfortable bed overlooking the rolling countryside. It was well equipped with tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer, large wall mounted flatscreen TV... More

I booked 2 days in advance for a midweek meal. It was only when we arrived that I realised how lucky I had been to get a table. The restaurant is obviously very popular. From start to finish the service was excellent. Happy waiters and waitresses, knowledgable members of staff and to top it off a wonderful meal. The Peak... More

We booked into this hotel due to a special offer made by the hotel via Travelzoo. The hotel room, food and two drinks and breakfast were included in the price. This is the first time in my 54 years that I felt guilty for paying such a low price. The owners of the hotel take an obvious pleasure in making... More

Friendly service and a great hotel; lovely spacious room with a big bathroom, nice view, air con, comfy bed, tea & coffee facilities and everything you need. The bar was great in the evening with the piano playing whilst having a few drinks. Close by to Matlock, Chatsworth, Chesterfield, Bakewell and the rest of the touristy peak district areas. Our... It is difficult to improve upon the glowing reports of previous reviewer's ,but this hotel would taking a lot of beating on any level. Location is superb, being just off a major road ,but tucked away with a scenic view and quiet surroundings. The rooms are modern and spacious ,and like like the rest of the hotel they are immaculate... More

I found this hotel three years ago when I met my wife. We wanted a special place to go to so we can relax from our demanding jobs. The rooms are beautiful, relaxing and decorated brilliantly with beautiful views. The staff are brilliant and attentive but not pushy. The bar area is lovely and with open log fires they are...
