Cabin no 4. Suitable for 6 persons. Perfect view. Forest surroundings. Peacefully. Typical Norwegian mountain cabin. Well equipped. Wifi, satellite TV. Wood burner. Clean. Well maintained. Very friendly hosts.
Stayed here in cabin 6 with my family for 3 nights and found it to be very good value with good facilities and a nice peaceful location. I booked via email and correspondence was good, payment was by bank transfer which is ok but not ideal as bank fees are quite high from the UK for non EU countries. It's fairly easy to find, about 10-15 mins from the ferry at Tau and just off road 13 and is signposted, there are also some shops, fuel stations and fast food on the same road, Check in was fast, easy and friendly with Elisabeth, the cabin was clean with good facilities for cooking etc and the satellite TV has lots of stations. WiFi is very patchy, we could only get a signal on the decking. I found the beds to be fairly comfortable and slept well as it's nice and quiet at night. We drove to Preikestolen early one morning and this took around 30 mins. We found a couple of minor maintenance issues, the shower did not drain well and after each shower one had to sweep the water down the drain and we found it hard to lock the door to the decking. However these wouldn't put me off staying here and would definitely stay again.…
We stayed in cabins #6 and #4 in late June 2014 for 2 nights and had a great experience. Cabin #6 was a bit nicer, more recently renovated and had plenty of room. Everything we needed to cook was available, and there are 2 grocery stores just down the road a few minutes. Check-in and Check-out were both very smooth, and the hosts were very accommodating and helpful. WiFi was a bit spotty from our cabins, we were only able to get reception out on the deck, but since we were in Norway, we had plenty of scenery to keep us entertained.
We stayed in Cabin No.6 for 1 night, the room was surprisingly big, warm and clean, it had everything we needed. The other cabins are also located on the hill, isolated from each other. Trees and plants are everywhere, so the guests will have a quiet and fresh environment. WIFI worked the best in the morning. An excellent place to stay!
We stayed two nights in a small cabin. It was well-equipped and perfect for a couple or a couple with one child. They are in a peaceful landscape, about 30 mins by car from Preikestolen and next to road number 13 which is classified as one of the National Touristic Roads. It is a cheap (for Norwegian average prices) good option to spend some days, but you need to have a car as it is quite far from the nearest village.
Stayed 3 nights here. Quite basic 2 bedroom hut, but with excellent shower and cooking facilities and even a TV ( although the reception was variable). Beautiful views out across a nearby lake and the huts are located on a hillside in a wooded location. Very much enjoyed sitting on the verandah reading and taking in the view. No restaurant facilities on site, but there is a large BBQ area for guests' use. The nearest town is Tau, about 8 km away and the Pulpit rock ( our reason for visiting the area) is 30 - 40 mins away by car. You can also get a ferry from Tau across to Stavangar. Only gave it 4 stars because it advertised free wifi, but this wasn't available in our hut and my son was v disappointed
