#1 of 5 Specialty lodging in Averoy Municipality
Sveggvika is idyllically situated by the ocean with marvelous sea-view at the outside of the island Averøy, North-West Norway. We have 6 cabins for rent and an old fishing building (“brygge”) from 1924 that is renovated for charming apartments. Here you will find also a “kroa” for dining and a bar where the atmosphere gives you a feeling experience from the dried fish production in the past. The nature here offers outstanding opportunities for outdoor activities like fishing, hiking and diving. Here you can also just relax by the cottage or visit many different tourist attractions like the world famous Atlantic Road or take a visit to natural parks as Geiranger and Trollstigen. To island Averoy you have also easy access from the mainland. From the south its linked by The Atlantic Road that comes from Molde and from the north with tunnel from Kristiansund. Come and take a bite from the magnificent scenery and trilling adventure.

We love this place, huge room facing directly at the waterfront, quiet, clean and comfortable bed. Beautiful scenery, tastefully decorated, very good WiFi, very helpful and friendly host. Not only he helped us carried up our luggages, he also got up early to prepare breakfast for us after knowing that we had to leave early. The breakfast was tasty even though it was just smoke salmon sandwich. Only dislike was the gravel road leading to the guesthouse, but that's beyond the host can manage.

This is a restored old klipfish factory done over in minimalist style, very nice.Sitting right on the ocean. The evening meal was rather expensive,as is all food in Norway. The host was very informative about the buildings history.

Stayed one night on our road trip. The guest house is an old clip fish (klippfisk) factory and is situated just next to the sea. You can just follow the signs to get there, even if you sometime can wonder were the road will lead you. We had a spacious room with an ocean view. In the evening a tasteful three course dinner was served and we could book upon arrival, even though you normally are supposed to book it in advance. During the dinner the owner told the history of the building, how it was originally used for producing clip fish and she told us were the name "klippfisk" originates from (no spoilers though). The breakfast was also good. If you have some extra time we could recommend to have a walk in the surrounding cliffs.

On our road trip we were going to stay in Kristiansund - bad luck Kristiansund, we gave you a miss and are so glad we did! Instead we stayed in Sveggvika - a wonderfully atmospheric guest house with a great position on the waterside and a fascinating history! The hospitality was excellent and we enjoyed ‘eating in’. The food was a set menu - Home made style - it fitted the bill and was washed down with a glass of well matched wine and an alternative choice of local beers - or other drinks. Good value. The views from the rooms were stunning - we were there on a beautiful still summer evening and could have happily stayed longer - we’d love to return.

We just absolutely adored Sveggvika! Where to start … the restoration of the building was done in a completely sympathetic way and was simply beautiful. We were right on the water and the views were stunning. The peace and quite was magical. It is completely worth having dinner here - the day we stayed was a beautiful sunny evening and the offer was made for us to have dinner outside on the deck. Even then the table was set with all the beautiful touches and it was fabulous - the food was gorgeous too.
