We were invited over to a friends family reunion and one of the relatives booked the room for us. The service was great and the atmosphere was quaint. Very professional staff. Breakfast nook was delightful and very well stocked. Also was treated to a wonderful many course meal one evening which was extremely good. The rooms were a bit small and short on conveniences, but servicable. Enjoyed our stay. September 2018
Locations: Seems to be in the middle of nowhere, however actually there are a few attractions near by like the very oldhurches "søsterkirkene". It is also pretty countryside with rolling hills and farmland. Atmoshphere: If you are a tourist, you will find yourself among big groups of people attending meetings and conferences, many of them in a party mood by the end of the day. The hotel is rather old, has a few antiques and old art work pieces and various old nick nack. If you like those kind of things you will find it cosy. Well equipped for all sorts of meetings, plenty of group rooms too, Food: Short travelled products are used. Have a good reputation for its food, however did not find it outstanding good during my visit. Somewhat limited selections at the lunch buffet. Nice breads at breakfast Room: I had a small room in the annex building, in hoorrible pink/red and green colours. The carpet had lot of stains, some ressembled puke. Very small bathroom and poor water pressures. Good bed. Staff: Friendly and professional…
I was here as part of work. The service in the front-desk was good. Everything was prepared. The staff was friendly, the foods was tasty and varied. It was various Norwegian food, homely but enhanced. The bedroom was a good size. Few Tv-Channels, but no complains. Also, my room was far away from internet. So the internet was very slow. But none of this did destroy my stay here. As most of the time was in conference room and didn't get the feel of it. The feeling of the place is good and the aged hotel is there for a reason. The service, the quality of the food and the placing is a reason. As well as the short walk to the middle-aged churches. Which is special in itself.
First visit to Sanner Hotell, certainly not last! A rare combination of very good personal service, delicious food, good knowledge of wines, historical surroundings and not least an atmosphere of friendliness, tranquility and professionalism. Stayed for 3 days with more than 40 colleagues from Icopal and Monier.
Picturesque setting, beautiful hotel, professional staff and delicious food. Walk the entire hotel for endless art in every hallway. Very hospitable staff, clean facilities and meals are always filling.
This hotel may have changed its name a couple of times in 40 yrs. I was here with my colleagues for a wekend seminar more then 40 yrs ago. This time it was for a day seminar. The hotel had the same ambience no doubt beacuse of being in teh ownership of the 4th generation. They had some great food for lunch and dinner. Definitely nostalgia.
Good location one hours driving from Oslo. Our group (choir) has used the facilities once a year since late 90ties and very pleased with the attention from management. Group rooms of various sizes at well furnished, and bedrooms adequate. Food - lunches and breakfasts in particular - is excellent whereas dinner experienced as more basic. Definitely recommended and our group has already booked for next year.
This is a lovely and charming hotel, but what really stands out is the extremely helpful and service minded staff. Don't expect a modern establishment though - this is an old fashioned hotel where things such as internet is unimpressive.
Lovely location, amazing breakfast and lunch and very professional staff. A perfect hotel for business meetings and conferences, especially if you prefer the countryside environment. A lot of interesting norwegian history in the area and the knowledge of the manager is incredible.
