My recent stay at the Monte Carlo Bay Resort was, once again, an absolute pleasure. This luxurious destination has certainly maintained its charm and continues to impress in many ways. The resort is still in very good shape, and the attention to detail in maintaining its elegance is evident throughout. The rooms, lobby, and pools are as beautiful as ever, and it's clear that the property is not showing its age. The service at the Monte Carlo Bay Resort remains exceptional. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that guests have a memorable and enjoyable experience, and it's always a pleasure to be in such capable hands. However, during this visit, I did notice a few changes that seemed to reflect some cost-saving measures. For instance, the delightful "Monte Carlo Bay" biscuits were no longer a room amenity. It was a small but charming touch that was missed. The main pool, which used to have extended hours, now opens at a later time and closes earlier. While it's understandable to have specific pool hours, it was a change from what I was used to during previous stays. Another change was the relocation of breakfast and brunch to a new room where the casino used to be. Although the quality of the food was still very good, the room itself and the view were not as impressive as the former location in the Blu Bay restaurant which overlooks the sea. The view, on the outside building, faces a wall, which was a bit disappointing. Inside, it is beautifully decorated but the layout does not feel 4/5*. It is just way too busy inside. It's important to note that these comments are a reflection solely on the breakfast experience and have nothing to do with the exceptional quality of the 2-Michelin-starred Blu Bay restaurant currently being refreshed . In conclusion, our stay at the Monte Carlo Bay Resort was, as always, a memorable one. It remains a beautiful and well-maintained hotel, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway. While there were some minor changes, they did not overshadow the overall positive experience, and we look forward to returning for our annual visit.

Dear Stephanevde, Thank you for your fidelity and for having taken the time to share your experience ! We are really happy to know that once again you had a nice stay with us. We totally understand your position concerning the new location for breakfast and brunch : since we have obteined the second Michelin star, we have been obliged to separate the Blue Bay restaurant form the "Breakfast restaurant". As regards our home-made cookies, we assure you that the new welcome amenities are moer expensive than the former onces for us: there is no cost-saving measure behind this change: now we propose other home-made products, such as chocolate biscuits, fruit jellies and chocolate, all prepared by our Chef ! We hope to have soon the pleasure of welcoming you again and remain with our kindest regards. Agnese Duty Manager

We arrived at the hotel around 10:30 am, after booking transport from the airport via the hotel. On arrival we were told we can not use any of the hotel facilities until mid afternoon. The concierge missed out this detail when we booked the transfer. We were advised to go elsewhere and pay for a nearby beach club. I have never stayed at a hotel where this is the case. It was clear people had checked out the hotel from the previous night so i am unsure the logic behind not being able to use the pool facilities. I even walked round and saw multiple empty spaces. The attention the hotel has to cost cutting is noticeable. For example 2 towels per room per day, no complimentary water at night no dress down service. The food and drink were expensive as expected, but the quality was average at best. Although the majority of our stay was poor, the bar of the hotel is good and I would definitely visiting on the way to a nearby restaurant. I am still shocked that this hotel was even 4 stars.

We would like to apologise if certain services offred by our hotel did not meet your expectations, but we are happy to know that you liked our Bar. Concerning the pool facilities, it is true that in the very high season because of a high occupancy, the access to the lagoon is offered at the officiual check in time which is 4 pm. We apologise concerning the certain lapses in our House Keeping Services. We hope you give us a chance to welcome you back again. Best regards, Arun Dhadwal, Duty Manager.

We stayed here one night in September before we started a Mediterranean cruise. The hotel is expensive but beautiful! Our room was very nice with views of the Mediterranean. We could easily walk 10-15 minutes to the marina and look at all the expansive yachts. We had a casual dinner at the hotel, which was nice. And our breakfast was included and was fantastic! Lots of choices and a bountiful buffet. A lovely place with a nice pool area.

Excellent hotel, efficient service. We had a problem with the tv which was rectified. Pool area very nice, especially the side part where you can sunbathe watching and listening to the sea. Blue Gin bar was nice, the men were much friendly than the women who were a little robotic and not as friendly. The main reason why I didn’t give it a 5/5 is because the charges for soft drinks and water around the pool were extremely high. The alcoholic drinks were fine, but 30 euros for 2 cokes and 10 euros for a small water just seems unnecessarily expensive.

Been here many times over the years. Just returned back . Lifts smell of urine, new breakfast room is bland and lacking in atmosphere, the old breakfast room is now a dinner restaurant and it enjoyed a much nicer view etc. New breakfast room is like a 2-3* hotel. The man handing out towels wants to give one towel per person (how on earth does anyone manage with 1 towel to lie on and dry yourself with all day long?). After arguing with him he gave two towels but he really didn’t want to give more. The towels do not dry out so you are left using wet towels- I’ve never had to argue before at a hotel for towels. Especially a hotel charging 10 euros for a 350ml bottle of water or 21 euros for the worst made strawberry daiquiri I’ve ever had. The daiquiri is made with strawberry syrup instead of using fresh strawberries and seperate sugar syrup they cut corners resulting in a cocktail which tastes awful . (This is by the pool). I asked exactly how they made it and they are cutting corners and costs . Rooms are a bit tired , our loo stank again of urine. The shower over the bath didn’t work . There is a lot of building work right now in Monaco . I ended up paying to upgrade to a sea view room otherwise I was overlooking a building site. I think if the hotel has the space they should automatically give this upgrade because who wants to look out over a building site ?. Monaco now attracts “a certain crowd”. didn’t enjoy this trip as much as previous trips years ago .

Dear Roam23647131801, Thank you for having chosen again the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort . We are extremely sorry to read, that your last stay was not up to your satisfaction. We totally understand your position, concerning the new location for breakfast: surely, the big terrace on the sea of the Blue Bay Restaurant was nicer. It is important to us to inform you , that since our Blue Bay restaurant has obteined the second Michelin star, we have been obliged to separate the breakfast location from the gourmet restaurant location. Our establishment is certified Green Globe and for this reason we are trying to have more respect for the nature by limiting the distribution of towels : in any case, when our Guests need two or more towels, we are glad to satisfy their request. We have shared your comment about the cocktail with our F& B Manager, to improve the quality of this service. We also understand your position concerning the buiding sites, which are everywhere in Monaco . This is not depending on our volonty, and we have not enough sea view rooms to freely upgrade all Guests. We hope you will understand our position. We take this opportunity to inform you, that, for any type of issue or assistance during your stay, the Duty Managers are at your entire disposal to listen to you and to find the good solution on the moment, to make your stay a perfect one. We really hope this last experience will not stop you coming again : if you will have any intention to plan a new stay with us, you will just have to ask for a Duty Manager at your arrival : we will be happy to assist you and to check that you will have the quality of service you deserve. Kindest regards, Agnese Duty Manager

Nice hotel in a beautiful location. Our room was spacious and very clean with a stunning balcony. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was modern and a great size. The pool area was lovely although very busy. We didn’t eat in the hotel so cannot comment on that! The staff could’ve been friendlier .. the check in experience wasn’t the nicest however overall it was a lovely hotel and we enjoyed our stay

If you are Vegetarian stay away fron this hotel It’s not vegetarian friendly at all and what they have as vegetarian food it’s just not tasty at all but at all , very disappointing because you expect different form a 5 stars hotel but I guess deserves only 4 because of the poor flavour in the food and very little choice as a vegetarian and it’s not luxury at all Now I have to stay here for 10 days having nothing to eat , I will not stay here again that’s for sure , any other good hotel 5 stars from Monaco has very tasty food .

I booked this hotel for a family party for 3 days. If I were to say anything it would just be change nothing! Everything about this hotel was great, the staff were really good, the location is second to none and the pool area is the best I have ever seen. There were 29 of us there, and nobody had a bad word to say about the place.

It is a very beautiful facility with good albeit expensive food, and no luxury otherwise. Paper cups (not ceramic cups) for your tea/coffee machine will add lovely paper flavour to your tea :) and your coffee will not benefit from the powder milk provided. Reception repeatedly refuses you a supplemental bed for your child, on grounds that there is no room for it, then the bed is given after a large tip and much much stress, at 10 at night, after you are exhausted from your travel, while there always was plenty of room for the bed and no reason to refuse it at all, and you booked for 3 people. Same "no" attitude is at the Orange Verte restaurant: in an empty room of 14 empty tables you are told to sit at one particular (and worst) table, because others are "reserved by clients", then after much stress you can sit at the table of your choice - and as you leave, the restaurant is still empty. Why was negativity necessary? The "one towel per person" rule at the pools is unhygienic yet it is the order of Frederic the director and is fully supported by the hotel manager. You have to get your one towel at the pool reception, then you chose how to use it: whether to cover half of the dirty plastic public beach chair, or to save it to dry yourself. Most people dry themselves with the towels they perched on. You can however exchange your wet towel for one dry towel - just walk back to the pool reception at the entrance to do it. For a SBM hotel, this is quite embarrassing. "Jus des fruit frais" at 12 euros is from the packet. "Fresh" only means that the fruit is not cooked. You can have a freshly squeezed juice for 23 euros, but they call it a smoothy. The hotel is in a building that is L shaped, the local residences take much of the sea-parallel part of this "L", and most hotel rooms are in the part perpendicular to the sea, so you cannot have a sea-front room, despite of what Booking.com says. You either face to the left, where you see the road, the sea and the next hotel - Monte Carlo Beach, with the sea to your right, or, you face to the right, to the pools area, the Sporting, and Monte Carlo city on the mountain. The sea is visible to your side from your balcony as long as you are standing up - if you sit down, you see nothing, the balcony railing is blocking it. But there is a big table and a cute corner sofa seat.

I should have listened to the numerous reviews saying the exact same thing : a sheer lack of proper service, sometimes spiralling into nothing less than downright rudeness. The hotel needs to seriously invest in basic Etiquette training and teaching there staff how to enforce common courtesies. It’s simply impossible for the modern international traveller to operate without Wi-Fi , we received no Wi-Fi for two days we were there! When In despair i approached the concierge for help , I was grudgingly told “ if it doesn’t work it doesn’t work” . Ask for a service from the team you will be made to feel your asking for a favour , begrudgingly they will not offer eye contact , let alone a smile , and perhaps be “disturbed “ to oblige you. Don’t expect any personalisation , or basic courtesies such as water by your bedside at night , good house keeping, or even a fully functioning shower. Dare to complain at your own risk. Make sure you reach the porch area well in time before your dinning reservations , you might have to wait for one hour for a taxi like we did. While taxi specifics are not in their domain , the porch attendants could certainly be politer and more proactive In helping clients. Have been coming to manco for many years , and have loved the hospitality , unfortunately this place has left a bad taste. Pay the extra 20% and stay the world class hotels in the casino area , it will save you a great deal of pain.
