The Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort is highly regarded for its refined atmosphere and immaculate cleanliness, offering a luxurious experience with elegant decor and a pristine pool area. While its facilities, including a well-appreciated pool and spa, are a hit among guests, some visitors suggest improvements in pool chair availability and water temperature. Despite the scenic and exclusive beachfront location, opinions on value are divided due to high incidental costs.
Rooms are celebrated for their views and size, yet some guests feel an update is in order. Service quality is generally excellent, albeit with a few reports of inconsistency.

The exact score would be 3.5, we have come to the Monte Carlo Bay 3 times and we have noticed a deterioration in the level of services.
+ the location of the hotel, its swimming pool, its restaurant l'orange verte as well as the bar, the restaurant and breakfast staff (nice breakfast), the valet parking and the concierges The sea view from our room
- The cold welcome which gives the impression of looking down on people - Night service non-existent - Early check-in (for SBM members), we ask for your arrival time (9:30 a.m.) to have our room at 2 p.m.! However, we offer you another room for €290/day extra for midday, basically we can manage to give you another room, more expensive, but the one you reserved will have to wait 👍 Not very professional for a 4* hotel in Monaco, It's a shame, our previous visits were much better, I have the impression that the hotel is resting on its achievements. I will return to the Paris hotel next time, not necessarily more expensive (depending on the season) but impeccable.

A pleasant stay at this property. The Hotel is very refined, beyond expectations. We enjoyed the indoor pool, excellent cleaning, water of about 28 degrees very pleasant. We stayed in two only one night, definitely to return in the hottest period to be able to take advantage of the lagoon or the outside, very very beautiful. A sore note is perhaps the cost of parking the structure, as in my opinion a bit 'too expensive, we spent more than 50 euros for parking during the weekend. But I still wanted to give an Excellent review as it deserves this review. Thanks to all the staff of the structure

We stayed here for a weekend break in early March, after taking the bus from Nice airport, which stopped right outside the hotel.
The weather wasn’t great, it rained for most of the weekend which is a shame.
The hotel checked qr codes for covid passports, although we are both vaccinated, our qr codes weren’t working so they advised us we would need a covid test from a local pharmacy at 25 euros per person which was very straight forward.
The room was a city view which directly faced a building site, not the fault of the hotel but I’d advise to book a sea view room based on this.
The room was pleasant enough, not luxurious but fine nonetheless. The hotel pumps some kind of fragrance through the AC in the hallways, which is lovely.
We were bed and breakfast, there is plenty of choice for breakfast although very busy with not enough waiting staff for volume of guests.
Location wise, it’s not in the most central location, but we enjoy walking so had no issues with walking up to the centre.
I would absolutely stay here again in the future.

I spent the best part of £200 to have access to the pool for a day for myself and my family. Firstly to say all the pool attendants were fine and the pool itself was v nice
I found it highly ungenerous given the fee involved that I was unable to use the Sauna without paying an extra fee. This is certainly different to the experience in the Fairmont Monte Carlo as a day guest and my experience at many 5* hotels around the world.
Also, the changing rooms were tiny, the lockers comically small and again the ungenerous theme persists. It is usual in 5* changing rooms to provide amenities such as deodorant, hair products etc
As you can see, they provided nothing other than basic shampoo and soap. It wasn’t a luxury experience in anyway but it came with a luxury price tag. I’m currently staying in a resort in Dubai on the Palm where they constantly top up guests with cold water and the changing rooms in the spa are generous and abundant. This doesn’t compare.

Dear hOlidaywatch, We would like to thank you for having visited Monte carlo Bay Hotel & Resort and for your feedback. We are glad that you liked our pool and services provided by our pool attendants. It is true that te Sauna services are not involved with the pool facilities, kindly be informed that they are included in our spa massages. We would like to apologise if our toiletries in norms with the 4* hotels of the principality did not meet your expectations and we have taken a note of the same. It would be a pleasure to welcome you back. Best regards, Arun Dhadwal, Duty Manager.

Customer since the opening and after a good thirty stay, this is the first time that I have been disappointed. Ok we know that the customer is not the priority, never a small gesture for loyalty but that's not a big deal, the hotel was sufficient in itself. But this year there's a change of breakfast room, the best time of the day was before... now it's in a dark and noisy room with 10 seats outside and facing a wall... it's a change from the magnificent terrace facing at the sea. Today, Thursday, May 9, the lagoon is closed even though we had reserved for it because it was mentioned on the site that it would open on May 6. Change of date but of course no one warns, surprise on arrival. So there are 200 people crowded around the indoor-outdoor swimming pool with a war for deckchairs worthy of an all-inclusive in Spain. Really very disappointing…..

Our recent stay at this hotel left us quite disappointed. While the view from the room was truly fabulous, it became clear that a great view doesn’t make up for the lack of basic services.
The breakfast was poor, tasteless, and to make matters worse, there are very few alternative dining options nearby. It's frustrating to waste time searching for another place to eat, especially in a city like Monaco.
The amenities in the room were also lacking. We had very little water provided and, after calling to request more, no one ever showed up—even after a long wait. I had to call three times to receive water, in a timeframe of three hours. Second day, the same.
The pool area was a letdown as well. There were dirty spots, and the water was so cold that we couldn't even enjoy it.
On arrival, there was no assistance offered with our luggage. In fact, it seemed like there were hardly any staff around to help, at the arrival space.
While the room was cleaned thoroughly, it's hard to overlook these other issues. Unfortunately, we were unable to switch to a better hotel, such as the Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo or Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, due to a lack of availability. We would have done it if there was possibility.
For anyone expecting an above-average experience in Monaco, I would strongly recommend choosing a different hotel.

Dear Levielekes, We are sorry to read, that your stay was not up to your satisfaction. Concerning the water, we offer to all Guests a big bottle of Evian at their arrival: than, depending on the room category and on the duration of their stay,we renew this amenity: please, accept our apologies concerning the time you waited for the water, we assure you that necessary actions will be undertaken to avoid this to happen again. The water of the sandy bottom lagoon (open from May to September) is not heated, for this reason its temperature depends on the weather, but the indoor /outdoor swimming pool (which is always open) has a water temperature of 29 °C. We understand your position, especially if you compare the quality of service of our establishment, which is a 4 star hotel, to the one of a 5 star hotel like the Hotel de Paris or the Hermitage Hotel: even if we do our best to improve every day, we will never be like a 5 star Hotel. Nevertheless, we hope you will give us the honor of welcoming you again and remain with our best regards. Agnese Duty Manager

The Hippocampus restaurant is one of the worst places you could ever eat in your life. Not even the most tourist of tourists would even come close to thinking the restaurant is good, and for the price??? Are you kidding me. It's terrible. I can't even. The only good thing might be the chicken nuggets, the sea bass and the sea bream; the rest is trash.
In addition there are some waiters who were flirting in an extremely improper way with my friend, this man made her extremely uncomfortable and we had to avoid him like the plague at breakfast every morning. Also the service for breakfast is very slow if you eat outside, but normal if you eat inside. If you order a cappuccino it’s just foam basically.

Very disappointed with this Pension. Upon arrival (3pm) the room is not ready. Either! We're having lunch at Las brisas. I order swordfish but customers close to our table order pasta that is not on the menu???? In short, it doesn’t matter but it challenges me. 4pm, the room is still not ready but the receptionist finds us a room. The time to put on your swimsuit here we are at the pool. Not one deckchair available, some towels are there without bathers. Everything I hate, disrespectful people talking loud on the phone. I decide to rest but what amazement to be awakened by sound tests that will end in the late evening with religious prayers in the open air - impossible to listen to TV! We chose this Pension for its beachfront location but I was not expecting to find myself in a holiday village. Next time it’s the Pension de Paris or the Hermitage!!!

Very beautiful hotel, the luxury is felt right from the entrance, the room is very nice, large and spacious with a terrace with a view that alone is worth the trip. The swimming pools are amazing, the only flaw is the water temperature which in this season in my opinion is a little too low (27°) but they explained to me that it is a rule of the Monegasque health and hygiene body in order to prevent bacteria (🧐🤔🤔 although I have my doubts). excellent and varied breakfast, excellent cleanliness throughout the hotel and the staff were all very helpful and kind. I would have liked to receive a small gift upon arrival in the room as a welcome (fruit or sweets...) as now happens in all hotels of a certain category. The hotel is not very central but there is a shuttle available for guests to get to the casino or a pleasant seafront promenade. My opinion is more than positive and I absolutely recommend the stay. I will definitely be back, hopefully soon/very soon. Compliments

The structure appears well-kept and modern; the room is spacious, with a nice large bathroom equipped with both a bathtub and a separate shower cubicle; the cleanliness is reasonable (dust at the foot of the bed and the bed rails are not very clean). The service at the pool bar and at breakfast, considering the category of the hotel, really left something to be desired 😤. In my opinion, not exactly the best value for money.
