Our second visit to The Hostelrie, again we had a lovely time, excellent food. The facilities were good. Atmosphere very friendly. We were well looked after by Andy and Ayrton and all the staff. We will definitely stay again.

A quirky, bespoke niche hotel with excellent attention to detail, clean, comfortable and relaxed. Superb customer service from all and always with a smile. The food was wonderful (a genuine surprise at how good it was) and different from standard pub food without being too pricey. The location is beautiful and also peaceful. Would love to go there again.

We stayed for one night en route back home. Attractive building, very welcoming with a great atmosphere in the bar. Excellent dinner in the bar with great service and some good wine. Room very comfortable - only negative was no soap in the bathroom apart from body wash positioned halfway up the wall - great for a shower, not so...

Stayed for one night, quirky building, with a bit of history, room was double aspect alongside a road (not noisy after 18:00), Evening meal in the bar only option during our stay, very good meal with pleasant surroundings accommodating host and a peaceful nights sleep, Breakfast in the bar very relaxed affair and excellent food again. Will re-visit without any hesitation.

The owner and staff are wonderful. They are friendly and helpful. We were moved to a larger room after the first night and it was very much appreciated as we had our two dogs with us. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the hotel has undergone a complete renovation. The Hostelrie is situated in beautiful countryside with Goodrich Castle a...

We went to The Hostelrie at Goodrich for lunch after visiting the castle and was a great way to end the day. The pub is in a lovely old room with a fireplace, though it wasn't lit when we were there. The food was good really well and the gravy was delicious. The service was good too. We we weren't...

This gem in Goodrich just off the A40 not far from Ross-on-Wye provided my wife and me with a most enjoyable lunch stop on a cold bleak journey in to South Wales. As others have found, our food was excellent, the wine much appreciated and the welcome from the staff first class. We stuck to Cod and Chips mainly because...

I booked this hotel as a surprise for my partner's birthday. I liaised with them regarding a few extra treats such as Champagne and Flowers in the room. We arrived on a dark and pretty miserable evening to a very warm welcome. On being shown to our room, we found it warm and welcoming and the extras in place just...

Stayed one night here on a journey south - a genuinely dog-friendly inn that does NOT charge extra for dogs. I really liked the place - interesting history and architecture, very welcoming and relaxed, good beer and delicious local gin. Above all, I must mention the food - our evening meal was absolutely brilliant - all locally sourced food, with...
