Detailed Reviews
Positives:
The hotel is well kept, clean and sprawling. The staff are hardworking and always try to oblige with a smiling face. Bhola was omnipresent with his golf cart. Chandan didnt mind to serve us food in the lawn late in the night. The property is nicely located on the lap of nature.
Negatives:
1. A bit too far for a car trip from Kolkata.
2. We reached at 4pm and were forced to take the buffet lunch. At INR1100 the menu was not worth the price. Unfortunately ala cartè was not being served.
3. The serving time for food was inordinately delayed.
4. We stayed in cottqge 121. The Iron staircase for accessing the room was a safety concern.
5. The poolside DJ music spoilt the serenity of the locality.
6. The spa was unprofessional and unbecoming of the hotel ambience. The staff/ management of the spa needs to be changed to avoid disrepute to the hotel.

Booked a Villa directly with the Hotel for a night stay on 15th Aug’23, when hotel offered all-inclusive offer to stay. Our offer was also inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner. The resort is situated at the hilltop and built at an expansive landscape with sufficient open space. The resort has villa, cottage, bungalow for stay. In addition, it also has pool, garden, lawn, children playground, lake, parking space etc. The resort offers buggy service for transfer within the property. The Villa, where we stayed, was reasonably spacious with attached sit-out area and fitted with comfy bed, AC, TV, chairs and table. The washroom was neat and reasonably maintained too and fitted with geyser and provided with clean towels and toiletries like dental kit, saving kit, soap, shampoo etc. The entire property is neatly and tastefully maintained.
The restaurant was spacious and nicely maintained with provision for outdoor sitting. The buffet lunch and dinner had sufficient veg, non-veg and dessert options and had live counter for roti. The breakfast had reasonable spread too with live counters for omelet and dosa. The foods were tasty, the serving speed and quality was okay but may be improved further. They also offered evening tea and jhal muri, which was a welcome facility. In the evening, there was cultural program including dance by local people, which was worthy to watch. The staffs were courteous and responsive with certain adjustments at times. To summarize, this well maintained resort provides adequate facilities for a comfortable stay amidst the nature.

Booked this hotel for 2 nights.we reached today at 3:30 p.m.and found out that hotel had held a wedding last night so everything was in a mess.Ignoring that we went to our room, being in 4 star category, I atleast excepted a basic knowledge about the whereabouts of the hotel, but that also wasnot given.
We went for late lunch and asked for cheese chili toast and momos, which weren't available, however sandwiches were available. No complaints regarding the food taste,it was really tasty.
We went for Spa at around 7 p.m.,Abhyanga massage was good, however the oil wasn't even warm, the massage room was cold , there was no provision of warming the room. Both the therapists tried their best to keep us warm.Steam room wasn't working. There was cold water coming in at the shower cubicle. The capacity of the geysers wasn't enough to even supply hot water for one person.
We saw most of the staff not wearing mask or gloves during services which is basic. And they are charging INR 6500 which is equivalent to any 5 star deluxe hotel in metro city!! The wifi is very poor. Will not recommend the hotel . The surroundings are nice and the hotel does not keep up to it.

Pathetic property, the only thing good about this resort is its location.
I'll share one of my bad experience during the stay.
Day 2 while having my breakfast I asked the waiter to replace the tea as it didn't taste good, and i was shocked by the reply I got from him. He said "Sir, if u want a better tea then it would be chargeable."
The waiter himself was accepting the fact that the tea included in the complimentary breakfast is not good and a good one will cost you extra.
For hotel staff: Complimentary breakfast is not actually complimentary, there costs are included in the room tariff.
Worst part is there is no hierarchy in hotel management, you will never find where to complaint.
The food is good though if you order from a la carte but is highly expensive as compared to the taste.

The resort is quite large with an ample area to walk and enjoy. We stayed at an executive cottage, which isn't that big in terms of the price we paid. But at the least, we would have wanted the open balcony and stairs leading to our room to be clean. There were heaps of dust on the stairs and it looked like they haven't cleaned in some time.
Food at the restaurant is amazingly bad. The only flavor that the cook has mastered is how to make the food over-spicy!!! The buffet @650 bucks had very limited options and most of the items mentioned in the menu was missing. Since the resort is in a remote location, you don't have an option but to have the food at the resort ( which is indeed a bad option).
Out of all the food we tasted there, only sandwiches and pasta was good.
The breakfast buffet was average. (Have tasted much better versions in India at lower cost)
Staff behavior is good but there is a terrible shortage of resources! In order to have the resort function at its best, they need a handful of good trained staff.
I would have recommended this place to others considering the serenity of the place, but with the current experience, I am not sure if I should do this!!

With international flights still not functional I have taken to doing road trips from my city(Kolkata) with family. My Travel Relationship Manager, Anuradha (Lali) Sarkar from Eastern Travels suggested a few properties in the Ayodhya Hills,Purulia area.We chose Kushal Palli Resort on Ayodhya Hill Top,Purulia.
Driving time from Kolkata is about 9 hours and 335 kms north-west of Kolkata.Traversing through 5 districts of West Bengal. We left at 5:19 am in the morning and arrived at Kushal Palli at 2:20 pm.Traffic adjusted Google route maps was of great help.
One is greeted at Kushal Palli with the beating of dhol and a welcome drink.
The property is nicely done up and all landscaped and lawns manicured to near perfection. There are two golf carts in the entrance area for ferrying people who would rather not take a walk.Rooms are excellent and upto the standards of a 4 star property.Room service is very good.Staff is very courteous and very amiable and on standby to help.
There is a fully functional swimming which we used to great delight in the evening.Succulent tandoori and vodka was served by the pool side,The jacuzzi is fully functional and thoroughly enjoyed lolling round in it,
The breakfast spread is superb : freshly cut fruits, sprouts, watermelons, fresh juices, puri sabzi, freshly roasted dosas on order, idlis, vadas, choice of breakfast cereals and many more items.Vegetarian and non-vegetarian food are done exceptionally well,A word on Sandip Maity,Senior Captain,F&B and his team; exceptionally hospitable and warm.Sandip had us served the best of kebabs during evening drinks and 'adda'(fellowship) sessions,After quite some I found a person who truly embodies the spirit of 'athiti deva bhaba'(guest is like God) ,The multicuisine restaurant is upto mark, there is an open air restaurant also where breakfast is served.
Initially planned a two nights stay but later extended by another day,Dhiraj the Manager at the Reception Desk arranged and SUV for us to do a sightseeing trip.
Rahiram Mandi ,our driver and guide took us for lovely trip to Marble Lake,Bamni Falls.Turga Falls,Turga Lake.Chorda Village,Khairabera dam/Lake,Pakhi Pahar,Upper Dam on Jatajhur Nadi and Lower Dam on Bamni Nadi(river),Must visit for seeing when one is staying at Kushal Palli.
Overall it was a delightful experience ! A year down...look forward to doing this trip again.
Cheers!

Booked 5 rooms for 14 of us from 4th to 6th December. Proper sanitization not done on entry. Food was too spicy and even after repeated requests for less spice it was not taken care of. Rates are exorbitant . Food was very ordinary. Service in the restaurant was highly unsatisfactory. Overall experience was not at all good. Wont advice anyone to spend such a huge money to stay there.

Had a wonderfully evening at the KushalPalli resort. We opted for a private barbeque at the backyard of the cottage. A full value for money with a spead of non vegetarian selection, vegetarian ones, bread, dal and dessert at the end. A top notch serv5team making the evening wonderful for the entire group. A must go for with family and friends. Special mention to Samir, Tawsif, Shyam, Sandip, Mohanty.

Some things are worth mentioning:
The food menu is limited and the taste is not worth the cost.
After paying for the buffet, the buffet was not available on our last day of stay because of less guests. Even a basic chilli chicken and fish finger was disappointing.
They assured they are pet friendly and we had taken our pet after taking confirmations about various details. But we were disappointed
They told they have an elaborate pet menu and spa service, upon arrival, they told only boiled chicken and vegetable is the menu. Forget about pet spa. Infact they do not care about your pet. They sent human chicken stew full of butter and salt on the 1st day of ordering. Sheer negligence.
In their Instagram page, they advertise pet friendly attitude, but they asked us to confine our pet to our rooms. Not at all friendly towards pet.
The cottage rooms which cost 10k plus have shabby maintenance and the toilets stink because of a sewage issue. The geyser leaks. Overall maintenance was not acceptable at the price.
The service is extremely disappointing. The resturant staff is rude and the in 3 days stay, they have taken wrong order exactly 5 times.
