Bottom line, Treebones delivered exactly what I expected and more in terms of warm, welcoming and friendly environment. I camped here, for a few reasons; was booking too late to get a Yurt and I love to camp and because I was a solo female traveler, this provided a safe environment for me to do so alone- because you aren't... I heard about Treebones a few years ago and have been wanting to stay there ever since. The opportunity, and a rare spontaneous opening in their reservations, allowed me two nights in a mountain-facing yurt. I expected something like car camping with a twist, and I was happy to have prepared a bit in that vein. With shower and bathroom... More

This was the first stop on our honeymoon...stayed here 2 nights and wished we had stayed longer. It was so peaceful and calming and everyone was unbelievably nice. The yurts were very spacious (we were in #8) and it appeared that each yurt has a beautiful, unobstructed view. The stars and sounds at night were just incredible. And we loved... More

Had a nice couple of nights here on a recent trip. The view from our oceanfront yurt was calming and peaceful, though if you do have trouble sleeping at night without absolute quiet this may not be the place for you. Elephant seals "talk" throughout the night and the wind in Big Sur does cause the outside window flaps to... More

I took my husband here for his birthday surprise. We stayed in yurt #8 and had a great view from our deck. It also wasn't sitting in the path of another yurt as some do. The yurts and nicely appointed considering you are staying in a, well, yurt. These do not have bathrooms, so plan on a hike in the... More

My wife found this spot months ago and was thrilled by the restaurant. I have to agree. Food was incredibly good, well prepared, cordially served. Salads and greens picked right on-site were amazing. We have sent friends there also, and all were more than happy with the dining experience.

We stayed at Treebones on the second night of a recent road trip from Oakland to LA. I had really wanted to stay in one of the yurts, but they were booked for the night so we opted for the one platform tent that they had. This worked out perfectly for us. The platform tent is awesome. Its probably 12'... More

The Human Nest is really all it's cracked up to be! We arrived late from Monterey (plan more time than you think for the stunning drive along the coast) but still received a warm welcome at the main building and were even able to get dinner during the last few minutes of service (restaurant closed at 8:30 the night we... stayed for one night at the resort camping. the resort itself is quite nice and the facilities and pitch were fine, however the staff are so dozy it is untrue. We checked in to stay for two nights which all seemed to be fine but the next morning were told that the pitch was not available for the second night... More

Best experience ever. Yurts were amazing, very clean and comfortable. Washrooms were a quick couple of steps away. We stayed in an ocean view yurt and it was worth every penny! Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Make sure if you visit to bring warm clothes as it gets chilly and windy in the evening. Food was amazing. Make sure... More
