We stopped on our way northbound to Monterey for a quick coffee break and stretch our legs. Its a very pretty and quaint spot on the route but I don't recommend that you plan to refuel here unless it is absolutely necessary as the fuel was $7 a gallon!

The site includes about a dozen of cottages , a small store, a gas station and a restaurant. The cottages we stayed in were clean, with basic furniture. The kitchens were inconsistent across cottages. For example, one had s large fridge but no stove. Plates and silverware were scarce. Several of the cottages have beautiful ocean view. The WiFi provided... More

We stopped here on our way south along Hwy 1. The room is neat, tidy and clean. The cafe next door sells great food. Still expensive but we were pleased to get a room when otherwise we would have had another 1.5- 2 hrs on the road.

We stopped here late driving north on the coast. No cell service to check reviews, but we took a chance and were pleasantly surprised. We were very shocked at these bad reviews after the fact. We stayed in a fully remodeled cabin called the garden house. Cabin was very clean, plush and comfortable and the expansive views from our bed... More

Like many others, we had been driving for a while and needed someplace to stay. There was no wifi in the area so we couldn't read the reviews before we checked in but truthfully would have stayed anyway as it was still quite a ways until the next place and we didn't want to drive further in the dark. The... More

The only way they get people to stay is lack of wifi service on highway! I was grateful to get a room as I hadn't seen anything available for quite some time and we were tired and hungry. I let them know we had 2 adults and 2 children. We were given a room with one double bed and one... More

Big sur was packed because of spring break. I was heading south from Carmel and there seemed to be more people and cars in Big Sur than I had ever seen. So I continued on and came across this little place. There are cabins but I stayed in one of the rooms above the shop. very nice room, no TV... More

Arrived March 4th in Big Sur. Camping with friends in tents. The storm on Saturday forced us to pack up and find a hotel. Found Gorda Springs Resort nearby. We arrived wet and freezing at 8pm. John was very helpful renting us a room. We stayed in Cedar South a 2 bedroom shared bath cabin. The cabin was clean and... More

As many travellers on Highway 1 find, we were quickly running out of time and needed fuel and a place to stay. We stopped at the fuel stop (fuel was $6 a gallon!) and enquired about overnight accommodation. We were 3 couples travelling together and were rudely offered three rooms for $450 for the night. Once taxes were added, it... More

This place definitely exploits the fact that there are very few hotels along this section of the coastline and the prices were by far the highest (double) that we paid anywhere else along our California and Oregon Coast roadtrip. That said, the cabin we booked had two bedrooms, both with outstanding views of the bay and was clean and well... More
