This was such an unexpected treat - the cabins are right in the middle of a massive redwood forest, and you can pretend you're pretty much alone there! The cabins themselves are really small and pretty basic - there's a sink and fridge pretty much at the end of the bed, and a tiny shower and toilet behind a sliding...

My husband and I stayed at Glen Oaks over the July 4th holidays and absolutely loved our stay. Upon our arrival, we were upgraded from a queen to a king size room. The room was chic and upscale but managed to be unique at the same time with nice touches like an electric fireplace, 2 person shower, and scrabble and...

I selected this hotel based on reviews that I read here. I was very happy with our choice. The price of the room was more than I usually like to spend, but I wanted a nice place. The building is from the '50s, and it has been redone with a mid-century aesthetic. The room was very clean. There is a...

I spent 2 magical days here recently. The place is called a motel but it has wonderful hotel accommodations. We stayed in a Fireside Queen and the bed was very comfortable. The fireplace is automatic. The rooms are modern but have a mid-century feel like a cool "Mad Men" era getaway. The greatest thing about this place is the bathroom...

Our one night in the Big Sur Cabin while touring the Big Sur from San Francisco was the highlight of a 2 week trip that included fancy hotels in Washington DC and New York. We would definitely return for a few days and use this as a base for walking in future. As other reviews hinted, the front desk experience...

only complaints are that the room was a little small (queen adobe), and they forgot to provide us with our smores kit, but otherwise the stay was delightful. Loved the fire outside.

I was excited about this hotel due to the fabulous pics online. But, the place needs some TLC. It's a beautiful place and location, but the rooms are getting dingy. I stayed there in May 2011.

if you ever booked glen oaks, go for their cabins by the red woods. We stayed at the redwood cabin by the forest view. It a gem really, they had scrabble in the rooms, oven to cook some food. We stayed in to cook and ate by the fire place. They had chocolate too, loved the tea also. Simply magical...

We stayed at Glen Oaks for two nights June 18 and 19 on a trip up the coast with my family. I thought the people there were wonderful and found the location centrally located for our activities in Big Sur. It was good value for the area and very clean and comfortable. I would like to go back again. Pfeiffer...
