Described as one of the most romantic places to stay, our adobe motor lodge was considered modern in 1957 and 60 years later Glen Oaks Big Sur has a fresh rustic-modern and Green sensibility. Our accommodations consist of 16 Adobe Motor Lodge rooms with cozy gas fireplaces and 12 Cottage/Cabin style rooms with kitchen/kitchenettes and most have access to the Big Sur River. All accommodations have free wireless internet and telephones with free local calls. We are located on Highway One in Big Sur Valley.
My fiance and I stayed in the Big Sur Cabin for our "elopement" and had a perfect experience! Nicole at check-in was friendly and fun. When we got to the cabin, it felt wonderfully private and was located next to the river which sounded beautiful. The cabin was totally clean and included nice items to make our stay comfortable. The bathroom was so nice with fresh-smelling towels and even heated/cooled floors! The bed was incredibly comfortable. I love how they have items available like yoga mats and an iron/ironing board, and kitchen items in this cabin. We eloped and said our vows and exchanged rings in the beautiful fairy circle of redwoods. The atmosphere of the forest was so relaxing. Taking a walk through the grounds was lovely and the perfect setting for our romantic getaway and a photoshoot of the two of us. 10/10 experience!! I highly recommend Glen Oaks Big Sur!! …

My husband and I stayed at Glen Oaks Big Sur for 4 nights in August of 2022. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and booked an Adobe Motor Lodge Queen Room. Prior to checking in, we received several emails and even a phone call confirming our stay. Upon check-in we were greeted by very friendly and knowledgeable staff at the front desk. We received our room key and a map of the property, and we were informed of quiet hours and hours for the fire pit and how to get complimentary water and s'mores items. We felt very well taken care of for our entire stay. Housecleaning is currently by request only. We did request housecleaning one day because we had brought sand in from Pfeiffer Beach. The room was cleaned and new towels were provided. Glen Oaks is located centrally to all the major attractions in Big Sur. During our stay we visited McWay Falls, Pfeiffer Beach, and hiked several trails in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. On our actual anniversary we drove to Monterey for the day, and it took less than 45 minutes to get there. Our room was super clean and comfortable and we were surprised how quiet it was! We loved the heated bathroom floor and the fireplace in our room. We didn't mind not having a TV and the WiFi was strong enough to stream Hulu on our laptop. When we entered our room for the first time, we found a complimentary bottle of champagne on ice, with a lovely card wishing us a Happy Anniversary! I highly recommend this hotel! The location can't be beat and the rooms are so clean and comfortable. During our stay we ate at the Big Sur Taphouse and the Fernwood Grill. We also had drinks at the Watering Hole down by the Big Sur River Inn and sat in the river while we enjoyed them. We had such a great time!…

My husband and I recently stayed at the property and eloped with an officiant and photographer. The grounds were absolutely stunning, and the experience was perfect. From the clean, well stocked room, to Adirondacks by the River, our only regret is not staying longer. We loved being walking distance to breakfast at the roadhouse, or other resorts close by. We cannot wait to return. This place is magic.

Glen Oaks is a gem. Perfect location within the heart of Big Sur, with an abundance of nature to explore right on site as well. The redwoods and Big Sur River in the backyard offer respite if you're seeking solitude or a place to meditate. We loved the King Adobe Motor Lodge room with private patio. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was luxurious with heated floors. Small details like complimentary s'mores, and breakfast donuts and coffee from Big Sur Roadhouse made the stay all the more special. We will absolutely be back.

I could have not been happier staying at Glen Oaks Big Sur. It is my third time there now and I stayed freshly married with my wife. The level of details at the lodge is amazing including a welcome / gratulations notice with a nice bottle of champagne. The place feels just right and has the right balance between being luxiorious and down to earth close simple at the same time.

This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful environment. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. There was a table and chairs in front of my room for private sitting outside and the river path was perfect start to the day. I will be back and highly recommend this spot for anyone considering a stay. Very well worth it.

Our stay was perfect! We enjoyed everything! The room is nicely decorated, the location is great, just in the middle of Big Sur. The complimentary wine and s’mores together with the community fire pit was so nice, we met other guests and had a fun evening by the fire. There is also a nice walking path by the river opened only for the hotel guests and you get breakfast with river view in the restaurant across the street. Oh, and the heated floor in the bathroom is a nice touch!

Our stay in the Little Sur cabin was magical, the private fire pit (pre-stocked with wood, kindling, and fire-starters) was perfect for s’mores (also pre-stocked in the room). The staff at Glen Oaks were incredibly friendly, and helped us with a late checkout, answered all our questions prior to and during our stay. All aspects of our stay were fantastic, we’re certainly looking forward to our return to Glen Oaks!

Beautiful setting among the redwoods and along the Big Sur River. We stayed in the Little Sur cabin, a small and cozy duplex within earshot of the river. Heated bathroom floors, EV charging, donuts and coffee at the Roadhouse, and s’mores by the campfire. Smooth experience, and great facilities.

My husband and I spent several days at “the Bunkhouse”. It was perfection. We loved the seclusion of being over the bridge and away from the other cabins. The esthetic was unmatched, the privacy was perfect for us and all the details made it such a special stay. We loved the glass bathroom “walls” overlooking the amazing outdoor bathtub and magnificent redwoods. We didn’t want to leave and already can’t wait to return! This place was special in so many ways.
