The service at the desk was helpful in getting us to the correct lodge. However, we didn't know beforehand that we didn't need to pay to enter the park, so ended up eating an extra $10 fee. Our room had little ventilation, a huge sunroof that kept the room hot until late at night, and absolutely no entertainment. I guess...

I had done some research before we left home in San Diego and had fortunately kept the print out on The Big Sur Lodge. We called on the fly on our way down beautiful Hwy. 1 and reserved a room at the Lodge. It turned out to be the most wonderful room of our entire 2 week trip. I only...

This is one of the dirtiest places I have ever stayed and I've traveled the world. Over priced for what they gave you. There's just no excuse for not being clean. Looks like they never vacuum under the beds. The toilet was very dirty. Front desk rude. I suggest you go elsewhere!

My husband and I shared a family cabin with our 3 adult children and were pleasantly surprised at the accomodations. It had a bathroom wih a shower with fantastic water pressure. It was almost too high of a pressure. There was a separate bedroom with a queen size bed and dresser. The main room had a queen bed, 2 twin...

I booked a room at the Big Sur Lodge basically, because it was the only room left in all of Big Sur. I booked one week prior to a late July weekend, so I guess my #1 advice is BOOK EARLY when going to Big Sur! I skeeve dirty hotels more than anything, and after reading reviews of this place,...

The location is excellent and the peace and quiet was all we expected. For the price, the cabins are very basic-bed, desk, firewood, and a noisy fan-that's it! We weren't bothered by the fact that our phones didn't work, isn't that the whole point of getting away from it all? Front desk service left a lot to be desired-check in...

Quite charming. Defintley rustic. Friendly help, fun bar, We had the hot tub room, right out on the back porch over looking greenery everywhere. It felt great after a long day of traveling in the car taking all the sites in. Shower was small and yes you do hear the traffic going right by. But all in all we loved...

I first went to Big Sur last year (Aug 2009) with my family--we were total of 7 adults--and stayed at Big Sur Lodge. My father had not warned me that there was no internet, no cell reception, no television, and no telephones in the rooms! When we first pulled up I loved the place, but I had technology withdrawls the...
