Stoppad here for lunch on the way fr.o.m. Monterey to Morrow bay. Nice setting in the woods with a beautiful creek near by. Quick service. Sat on the outside deck with a view of th creek. Food was ok and there was a nice jazz band playing. A good experience on the whole.

Well this place is literally right on the only road in Big Sur (and I mean RIGHT ON THE ROAD). So that means traffic all the time and it is loud and constant. Rooms are extremely dated. And the price is ridiculous for what you get, Not only for the room. Food also $14 for 2 eggs and toast, come... More

Big Sur River Inn is about as good a hotel that I've ever stayed in. The rooms were clean, the showers worked well, the beds were comfortable. Above all else the location is just beautiful. You are nestled in amongst some spectacular old Red wood trees and a stunning creek that runs just behind the hotel property. The restaurant had... More

Who knows if there were any other spiders or bugs we did not see...We couldn't sleep in those beds thinkiing they would be crawling on us as we slept...It was 10:15 pm and the hotel office was closed, so we packed up and left to find another hotel...My daughter, son and I just couldn't sleep there...The next day we went... This is essentially a motel with accommodation split across a highway. This wasn't clear to us from the website when we booked otherwise I doubt we'd have stayed here as it is extremely expensive for what you get. There are rooms available by the river but these appear to only be the family rooms and the double rooms are on... More

We took a drive to see the scenery and to have lunch. The food wasn't special enough for the high prices they charge. I think the charge is mostly for the view and the chance to sit on chairs placed in the brook that runs along side the restaurant.

We stopped here on our way along highway1. It was a lovely restaurant, we chose to eat outside. There is a river view and the spot attracts families who can have the bbq and take advantage of the river bank. We were serenaded by a very professional jazz quartet. Not my cup of tea but enjoyable no less. The waitress... More

This motel is too overpriced for the amenities and the accommodations. We booked a two night stay and after not sleeping the first night due to traffic noise from HWY 1 (we had a room facing the river which was very nice) and a raucous wedding or prom celebration on property we tried to get a refund for the second... My cousin and I stopped here for lunch. We ordered drinks from bartender then decided to sit outside. We were given menues and noone came back. After 20 min waiting we went to bar and ordered. When we got food one of the orders was wrong and we told waitress. She just said that's why Im here and rolled her... More

Accommodations are very limited and all are expensive in Big Sur, but you are paying for the area. Big Sur River Inn has a beautiful backyard setting with a friendly staff that works as a team to serve the clients. The location is excellent for seeing the sites of Big Sur.
