The resort is very nice, pools are great but there is limited shade. Adult pool has no shade at all. Staff are friendly but there are obvious staffing issues. Platinum package was pretty useless, maybe helped with reservations (butler). Platinum lounges were closed, jackhammering for hours. I know repairs have to be made, but.... No sit down (served) breakfast or lunch, all buffets. The Delores pavilion had choice but most were below average. Restaurants were ok, Alcazar was good. Pools are spectacular. Teen pool was great for teens. Infinity pools overlooking ocean were spectacular, but limited shade. Umbreallas won't move, so everyone does the deck chair shuffle every 20 minutes. Beach area is non existent. Staff were friendly but there were obvious shortcomings, they are trying. The people in general are wonderful, love that about Mexico. Too many other choices for us to return. 3 star.…
First thing there staff were so nice. Every morning after lunch we go into the room and room is ready, everything is in right place. We really enjoyed there live lunch. Make sure to do the reservation for every night diner and you have to do that every morning. My one and half year daughter really enjoyed the pool, Also they had pool party every few days. It gets quite after 10 so you can go on beach side and enjoy your late night sky view with wave sound. They make strong margarita lol.
Other than the beach area , which was too small, smelly and full of rocks, the whole resort is an excellent place for relaxed vacation and good food. But if you like to swim in the ocean or enjoy the sandy beach walks, then this is not for you.
Amazing stay at El Cid Marina with the family! The staff was awesome and very friendly and made our trip all the better. Rodrigo, Noe, Victor, Juan, Alberto and Luis were always on top of it and took care of us! The fun club was also a blast, we absolutely love the crazy hour activities! Amazing stay and we will be back!
My only complaints are... It was very difficult to get dinner reservations. We went to Mexico and could not even eat at the Mexican Restaurant while we were there. That was very disappointing! Also, having to pay for internet service is so unfair. We were told that we had to pay for internet service for both phones (like $30 per day per phone) unless we did that vacation owners tour, then it would be $60 for the week for both phones. We were in that thing for 3 hours. We then find out that at the main lobby there is free internet service and other guests (non-members) did not pay what we paid. I really think that if people spend that kind of money to go on vacation they should not have to pay for internet service. I never use my phone while on vacation but had to here for the Covid tests, health assessment form back to the US and airline regulations due to Covid. Otherwise we would not have needed the internet to begin with. I have never been to another resort that required payment to use the internet. That was so disappointing! Otherwise, we loved the resort and the staff are amazing! Would definitely go back but would negotiate the internet issue.…
This trip was amazing. We went fishing and I caught a Tuna and Mahi. The restaurant made sushi with the Tuna cooked amazing dish. I was able to enjoy some wonderful spa days and love the Hydro Therapy. It was a wonderful relaxing 2 weeks and always the best staff that are so gracious.
We had an amazing experience being first time at Marina El Cid. Excellent food and service, clean and organized. Best bar crew ever. Mi amigos: Victor, Juan, Rodrigo and Abraham made our stay very enjoyable by looking after us every day.
The Ruf Bar offered breathtaking views and a great place to relax and meet friends! Our whole experience was outstanding. And if you have any health issues, the golf carts took you anywhere you needed to go. Best customer service ever!
The staff at reception were so awful. It took us over 4 hours to get to our room and they treated us like criminals trying to get rooms for free. Every guest in the checkin line looked miserable. There was also a protest outside the hotel during our stay for 2 days. The staff were complaining of low wages and having to live on tips.
The Marina el cid was an amazing all inclusive experience, everything from service to food and amenities. The staff go over and above to make the guests happy. We had a great holiday! The bartenders even remember what drinks you like before you even ask.
