Great trip. Staff were excellent. Food was excellent. Pools were excellent. Unfortunately, the seaweed really kept us off the beach, but we were prepared for that. A great relaxing 6 day trip. We really enjoyed the French restaurant. They are doing some work on the resort, but it doesn't affect your stay any and we are glad to see they are investing in it.

Great stay at this hotel! First and foremost, the Activities Staff at Dreams Sapphire are OUTSTANDING! Mika, Omar, Javier, Joel, Ricardo, Jass and Karley (to name a few) helped to make our trip memorable and unbelievably fun. Between beach volleyball, pool volleyball, rifle shooting, archery, guacamole class, wine tasting, not to mention the “crazy games”…there was always something to do and always someone to do it with. There is also a show every evening at 8:30 which hasn't disappointed! Fantastic entertainment team, cannot emphasize that enough, always on top form! The food was very good and all the servers were experienced, friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was great and our room was always kept clean and the mini bar stocked. If I had to say a downside, the hotel is somewhat remote depending on what you want to do, for example a one way taxi to Cancun is $50. Thank you for the wonderful vacation! Mark and Lisa.

I was not impressed with this resort. The main reason for all inclusive is the food/drinks and we weren’t pleased. The food was subpar they had six restaurants, and the only one that was good was the Asian themed one. The Mexican themed place, food was good but it was all cold, even the churros! The world market which is the main buffet for breakfast was only good for breakfast other then that lunch/dinner food was cold and not great, mediocre at best. The food at barefoot grill by the pool had the same effect cold and seemed to be sitting out for awhile. Also all the resorts are hot & humid so hopefully you don’t mind eating in the heat The pool area was disappointing as well although there is alot of chairs to sit. A lot of people take up the space with random places of towels to save their spots in the shade even if they aren’t in the pool area at that time. Everytime we asked a towel they were out, every time it was frustrating. The pool was nice but that’s about it….. for drinks we had a hard time tracking down a waiter and anytime we went up to the bar kept getting skipped over for someone else. The beach area….. the good thing not a lot of seaweed. Downside the water wasn’t clear and turquoise yet. Yes it’s a beach area but not a very great one. We weren’t aware the resort had an app until the last day when we found it on our own so we didn’t know about any shows or activities going on that would have been nice to know about at check in. Our room was fine, nothing special the room service was fine. Overall not super impressed and probably won’t come back .

This stay at Dreams Sapphire has been an excellent experience. The dreams entertainment team go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. They get everyone involved in the activities during the day. Joel and Ricardo who have just recently joined the entertainment team made our experience very memorable. They made sure to greet us every day and take time to have conversations with us. They are a great addition to the team. The day activities are very fun, especially the “crazy games”. We also looked forward to the entertainment in the evening which was also fun. The junior deluxe room is very spacious and bigger than the average room. The food is also excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel! Emma&Ross (UK)

We had an amazing time at Dreams Sapphire resort! Loved everything about it! The staff was so professional and friendly they made our stay extra special from the waiters to house keeping shout out to the entertainment team They are the best!! Mika and Sebastian loved them!! Daily activities by the pool was fun, daily paella by the pool was yummy and all the night activity and shows were great club was fun only wished it closed later then 12. My favorite restaurant was Himitsu. We got a master suite with a swim out pool so worth it and had preferred access that made my stay even better! Only one problem we had was the driver from the excursion trip same driver back and forth was a careless driver he was driving about 95MPH almost even had an accident trying to pass another car we were freaking out!! He does not care about his passengers! Ismael Hernández van #71

Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa is anything but a dream. One of the worst resorts we have ever been. It was especially disappointing as it was our first vacation since Covid. Let me break it down: Check In: This went pretty smooth as we had purchased the Preferred Club (PC). We were escorted to the PC lounge where you will find the only good air conditioning at the resort. Alessandra offered us drinks, went over a map of the property, and had us fill out some paperwork. After that we were handed off to Isai who tried to convince us to tour other properties that day or the next day. We explained we were very tired from traveling and just wanted to shower and get to our room. He seemed annoyed but then we were handed over to a bellman who loaded our luggage and us into a golf cart to finally take us to our room. On our way to the room, a resort worker pushing a cart with a huge patio umbrella on it and restaurant supplies, ran into the golf cart and almost impaled me! I ducked and it hit my hardshell luggage but left a significant dent. He did not apologize but our driver did. Not a great start. A side note about Isai, every day after our arrival he would look for us to try to get us to go to his presentation to sell us on the other hotels. We understand that is his job but he was extremely aggressive. He told us it was a half hour presentation but from talking to other guests you will be in these presentations for 3 hours! One guest informed us, they move you from one hot box to another. By the 4th day, he followed us to the restrooms and waited until we came out. He then said something along the line of "You are not going to do this are you?" We said no b/c it was our vacation, and we weren't spending it doing things we didn't want to do. He got irate and tore up some papers in front of us and stormed off. Preferred Club (PC): Complete waste of money. The only good thing about it was the ac in the PC lounge and the bartenders Enrique (Sp?), Sandhy, and Alfredo. They also reuse the snacks/food from the day before. The only good coffee was in the PC lounge and the machine was broken for three days. The PC pool had very few cushions on lounge chairs. The few cushions there were, were wet and thrown on the concrete. There were no pool floats at the VIP pool only in the main pool. There was one bartender who was completely overwhelmed, and the drinks tasted like chemicals. We were told to reserve a sun bed (which was supposedly included in the PC package) 24 hours in advance and when we inquired with the pool concierge, he told us it would be 48 hours and we had to pay $45 dollars. The PC breakfast had a fixed breakfast menu located in the Italian restaurant. Other than the ac, there is no reason to go there. Room: We booked the Preferred Club Junior Suite Oceanfront King. The view was very nice, but the balcony hot tub was rusty. We did not use it. The lock on the balcony door was broken. The makeup mirror in the bathroom did not work and was falling off the wall. The desk chair was stained. The door to our room was damaged. The bathroom had several scratches on the walls. Our sheets were stained and had holes in them. Our towels also had holes; one so large I could fit my head through it! We did request the mirror be fixed, the balcony door lock be fixed, and new sheets and towels. To give the resort some props, these 4 issues were resolved rather promptly. The ac worked but not well the room was very warm. If ac is your thing, this is definitely not the place for you. Food: The only good food in the resort is in the Himitsu restaurant b/c the food is cooked fresh in front of you and hot. Other than World Cafe where you can have eggs made for you on the grill, your food will always be room temperature or cold. The Barefoot Grill is outside by the pool where you can get burgers, fries, pizza etc. However, there are very aggressive birds and racoon like animals that like to jump up on the salad bar there and snack. We couldn't go the French restaurant b/c my husband did not have long pants. Who packs pants when its 90+ degrees in the Caribbean? A collared shirt is reasonable, but the pants requirement is ridiculous. They totally reuse food from the day before in the buffets and PC lounge. We did order room service 2x. Once the food arrived warm and quickly, the second time it was cold and took 45 minutes. Staff: The staff work really hard. 98% were kind, cheerful and very helpful. Some standouts were Alessandra, Enrique, Alfredo, Alberto, Sandhy, and Karey. The entertainment staff really go out of their way to engage everyone in games, sports, and arts and crafts. They also put on some great shows in the evenings. Ricardo, Sebastian, and Karey (sp?) were some of our favorites. We only encountered one grumpy bartender in the PC lounge, and one grumpy waiter in the Italian restaurant. FYI, tips go a long way. Pool: We went to the PC/VIP pool the first day and b/c there were no amenities other than the lack of children, we spent the rest of the vacation at the main pool. They did have floats at the main pool but maybe 12 for the whole resort. Most guests would share and hand them off when they were done but some guests were very rude and would hog them and put them by their chair. The main pool had many waiters and waitresses that would come by your lounge chair to bring you drinks. The pool opens at 7:00am but the pool towels weren't available until 8:30am. Most people would save their towels from the day before and get up early to claim lounge chairs. If you were not out there by 9:00am, you would be hard pressed to find a shady lounger. There is lots of shade from straw umbrellas and palm trees which was a plus compared to other resorts. AMR App: The hotel makes you download their app to your phone to make restaurant reservations, view tv guide, and review room service menu. The app didn't work so we had to have the ladies in the PC lounge make our reservations. We would have given the resort one star but the staff really were great, so we gave it two.
