Room is very clean and great room service. The buffet was great! Plenty of choices. Swimming pools were great for both adults and children, with great view of the ocean. Great service for ordering drinks and food at the pool.

Today I checked into the Sensira Resort & Spa Riviera Maya with my wife and children. Check in was fine and the amenities were fine. The problem began when we made the decision to dine at the Rodeo Grill Steakhouse. The service was subpar and the waiter seemed annoyed at our requests. I ordered the grilled octopus as my main entree. My wife noticed that it should be grilled more, but I thought it was fine. I ate about three bites of the octopus and my stomach began to wrench. I began to vomit uncontrollably. I ran into the washroom to spare the rest of the restaurant from my vomit. Eventually when I stopped vomiting I was accosted by a manager and an assistant manager. The waiter removed my plate and discarded the evidence. The managers seemed more concerned with protecting the hotels interests than treating me. I requested a doctor and they stated that a doctor would meet me in my room. I returned to my room awaiting the doctor. I received a call from the manager stating that there was no doctor on site and that it would cost me $150.00 to see a doctor. I told her that I should not have to pay a see a doctor after I was poisoned by the resort. I was called by the "doctor" and he did more interrogating than diagnosing what was wrong with me. He asked how many people at the table were sick. He stated that if the food was bad then everyone else would be sick also. I told him that I was the only person to eat the squid so no one else would have fallen ill. I grew tired of the back an forth and hung up the phone. I am still sick and in need of treatment. My family and I are leaving the terrible place in the morning. We were expecting a relaxing getaway but met with this horrible experience. I will not subject myself to another opportunity of being treated so poorly and poisoned by the resort. I am not a complainer. I have never wrote a negative review on this site, but this is a dangerous place. It is a scary time to be away from the USA with everything going on. I booked through expedia and I'm looking for a change now. This is a very scary situation. I will survive but it could have much much worse!

I loved Sensira! I spent a couple days here as a quick vacation and came back so relaxed and happy. The service is incredible, they make you feel welcome and will get you whatever you need. I was able to go to the spa, where after getting my first massage, I knew i needed to go back! I loved the ambiance, and the little details in the spa from the hydrotherapies to the the enhanced water. When you go you have got to spend some time there! Food was also amazing, I made sure to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner! Also, their little tea/cafe shop made one of my favorite iced lattes I've ever had. If you're thinking about going.... GO!

Pros: The food and bev staff is great and friendly they go above and beyond for customer service. Tip them well and you’re their favorite they do work hard and some go to school. Everything is included! Do rent the sailboat and go snorkeling! It was my favorite part of the trip! Ruben and his crew were awesome. Cons: Housekeeping enter your room 2x day for barely anything even with a sign that says DND. Housekeeping did go through my things but I kept my valuables in the safe. Unfortunately my aunt had $420 USD stolen from her luggage because her safe was broken. Hotel could have done more for her but claimed to investigate. Please be aware that you do sign a waiver saying you do not hold the hotel responsible so lock your valuables (money, passport, credit cards, ect) and do not bring anything of value like clothes or jewelry to Mexico. Your on vacay in a family resort just chill. The “free tours” are just to get you out and spend money. Don’t believe the hype. They will try and sell you over priced tequila and silver jewelry. They will entice you with 3 free tacos but will only give you 2. When you go on excursions with kids make sure you have the proper equipment like strollers with good wheels, it’s a lot of walking and they do not provide you with those things. It’s hot as heck but I packed a camelback with ice and it saved me.

Terrible experience! As we arrived - report does not have beautiful entrance it's of off a very tiny street in the middle of nowhere. Smell was horrible from loads and loads of seaweed that was piled on the beach. Smelled like a swamp. Beach was full on with seaweed, water was brown muddy, swampy texture with a crocodile in it. Lots of garbage in the ocean. When we reported all that we were told it's nature and nothing could be done about it, it's a family kids friendly resort with crocodile swimming in the ocean - you can't do anything about? This should be your number one safety priority by removing the crocodile. One of the pools was closed for couple days when we arrived, very convenient when you can't swim in the ocean. Food was very minimal at the resort because there were not many people. Not much you will find at the buffet - you won't see any shrimp, lobsters, crabs - none of that, some fish. Buffet was closed for dinner so everyone had to go to restaurants and if restaurants were full the only option you have is order food to the room. Restaurants took forever to serve you, one night we waited at the table for 1 hour and 15 min for pizza, kids would cry because they get hungry. No cafe, no snack bars, they have a "tea house" which was open from 6am-6pm with nothing much for the tea nor coffee, just couple sandwiches and melted ice cream (the only place that had ice cream in the whole resort). Manager at the resort was not helpful when we were reporting all this stuff, she was looking at us like there is nothing wrong. I really think she threw our complaints in the garbage because no-one ever contacted us back When you pay a lot of money for vacation and don't even get to eat ice cream on vacation or local seafood or can't swim in the ocean - management has to do something about it or at least be helpful, refund some kinda money or provide a taxi to take you to a different beach or let you stay in VIP area with kids I mean be nice about it, offer high priced meals that you charge extra at no extra cost. Their restaurants had higher priced food plates (lobster, crab, etc.,) for extra cost - like what??? My husband had to fly in only for 3 days instead of 8 because of work - last minute change and they didn't even refund for him not staying there. All the workers worked hard and super nice, like I will give 10 for cleaning the rooms they did amazing changing bed sheets every day, everything is crispy like new, but the managements sucks, I feel bad for those people that work there. Not enough people working around the pools, very slow service, but they try. Restaurant for adults only is very nice - food was great, but because we had to leave the kids in the rooms they couldn't eat anywhere besides the room service. Wish they at least had buffet open where you can feed your kids and send them to the room. I do not recommend this place at all unless you don't care about the beach and food and you are there only for the pool and a clean room and have nowhere to spend money on. P.S. I couldn't upload the video with crocodile.

This resort is finitely family resort. The condition of the resort (the building and pools) is great. Service: I can't speak enough good things about service at restaurants and around the resort. This was by far the best service we have experienced. If we needed anything it was done right away. The staff and managers at all restaurants were incredible. They made my birthday special by brining cake for breakfast and singing happy birthday! We hugged everyone when we were leaving and even shed some tears. Food: Food was standard. Because of the low capacity ( the hotel was only filled about 20%) they tried to reuse the same food for several days. Therefore the food was not always fresh. But variety was good. The restaurants though were so delicious. Especially the french one which you could only attend once (not sure why as it was empty) but the food experience was incredible. Facility: the hotel was not busy at all. I think it was at 20% capacity. The entertainment team did have shows every night and the magician show was very cool! They definitely tried to have activities but it is hard to do where there are not too many people. Beach: I don't even know where to begin. It is disgusting. The amount of seaweed and the methane smell- it was impossible to breathe. We tried to spend most of our time inside the room or we drove to a nearby beach. We understand that the seaweed is natural phenomena. BUT it is hotels responsibility to clean the beach and maintain it. When we addressed it to the management they said well there is no point in cleaning it as there will be more tomorrow. For comparison, the resort next door has beautiful beach and water because they cleaned it on daily basis. The only time we saw that it was actually being cleaned out was on our last day- the hotel hired a crew to come in to clean it out. Personally, I don't go to Mexico to sit in the pool for 7 days and for me beach is extremely important. Also, because of the condition of the water, there was an alligator swimming. So if you go in the water, beware that you might get bitten. Overall, it is not a bad resort. Definitely a family resort.

I highly recommend staying at Sensira. Service is great, the staff is very friendly and always ready to assist. Food is very good and there is a wide variety of options. I was there for a work trip with a large group of people, from check in to check out everything ran pretty smooth. Thank you to all the staff that made this possible and to Gina, she was our group contact, she took very good care of the group needs. We would definitely go back!
