We liked this place so much that we came back every week for several months over summer. Sebastian, the manager, is a gem, the location cannot be beat, and the prices are very good. It needs a little TLC, but now that things are recovering, hopefully we will see that

This was our first time at the Gota and the place was perfect. We come to this area a few times a year. We have a late flight so we always stay a night in Puerto Morelos before heading to the all inclusive. The hotel was clean and quiet. They do have a food truck plaza but it was not open due to the Covid. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The room was clean. TV and AC worked fine. The beach was right out the back door but was closed. They have a nice courtyard and pool. Very close to the town center. I would recommend this hotel for a night if you need someplace coming or going from the bigger resorts. This hotel would also be a nice place to spend a few days and explore what Pureto Morelos has to offer. We were very pleased and will look to stay here again in the future.

This quaint little hotel just minutes walking from downtown Puerto Morelos is perfect for someone who’s looking for a relaxing vacation in a small fishing village. The food court is made up of multiple food trucks and an outdoor bar. I can confirm that the pizza is very good with a cold cervesa. Rooms are clean and simple with a safe for valuables and hotel has a breakfast restaurant on site. The guitar shaped pool and beach area are well maintained and enjoyable to use. We will definitely be returning to this hotel during future trips to Mexico. Adios....

In Mexico, it's all about pros and cons. Embrace the pros and find a way to deal with cons and it will be well worth it. The pros of Hotel Gota de Sal: The location is nothing less than perfect; barely a 5 minute walk to the town plaza and a quick walk across sand to the beach, la playa. The staff is super friendly and sweet. The rooms are spacious with a small fridge. The beds are comfortable. Plenty of hot watre in the shower. Big pool with plenty of outdoor sitting area. Can't beat the price. Cons: for some reason, places in Mexico don't make it easy to dry wet things. My theory is that they don't find it asthetically pleasing to see things hanging out on the line. No biggie, but as a diver, it would nice to have places to hang wet stuff. Big con for me (which may be a plus for others are the bands that play in the outdoor restaurant bar till 10 or later. They are decent cover bands but loud and there is no escaping them. I guess there's no point in going to bed early anyway as nothing stirs in town till 8 or so (tip: walk to Oxxo on the plaza for Mexican coffe anytime). Wifi was good, so you can always bring good headphones and watch Netflix or Amazon Prime on your portable device. Oh, and don't hesitate to ask for a blanket if the nights get cool. And the breakfast place which opens about 8 is good also. If you're a snorkeler check out the Cenote actually in the water not far from the shore. Look for 2 floating life bouys directly off the beach. Swim out to the closer one, turn toward the beach swim about 25 feet toward the shore and slightly to your left. You'll find it.

We got our ocean view but room lacking the mattress is on a cement slab , the locks are old if my husband wasn’t with I would not have stayed. We put blankets at the bottom of the door you could see outside and from the picture we still had a visitor would eat the bugs all over in the bathroom. Don’t worry we let it go in the AM! Towels were thin and they do not provide beach towels. Only good thins A/C worked and close to walking distance of everything.
