We spent one night, our first night on holiday, at Jolie Jungle. The owners and their extended family were all very friendly and the grounds are lovely. My husband saw many birds and I saw a spider monkey. We had bungalow #4. There was a pullout couch/futon for my boys, which was a little cramped for teenagers. The accommodations were fine. There were two oscillating fans and mosquito netting, there is no A/C so it was a bit humid and sticky but fine for just one night. We ate dinner and breakfast as there really is nothing close by without a drive. The dinner was good but be prepared to wait a while. We did have a delicious salmon dish. Breakfast was much more basic a box of coffee, cereal, toast, and some fruits (apples, bananas and mango). There are bikes, ping pong and a pool area. When we arrived there was a large group of military police using the pool. My boys were a bit intimidated jumping into the pool while a group of grown men were rough housing. They were nice but I did not at first understand if they were guests of the hotel or just using the accommodations and it was the latter of the two. For birding it was great and for one night it was also good but I’m not sure I’d want to stay for more than one night. We visited a fantastic Cenote not far from Jolie Jungle after we left.

My son and I visited Jolie Jungle in 2015, and we returned again in 2019 because we loved it so much the first visit, and we loved it every bit as much on the second visit. The location is in the middle of a beautiful jungle, along the road with the fabulous cenotes, so it is the perfect place from which to explore multiple centotes. It also is a great great great place for bird watching - we saw a trogon and a mot mot within 100 feet of the 'club house'. The club house itself is one of the most beautiful pieces of jungle architect you can imagine, with a massive grass roof and elaborate carved wood railings, and open on all sides to the jungle all around. This is where you can eat food cooked by a French chef for very reasonable prices (around $10 for an entree), play pool, watch for birds and listen to wild parrots, relax in a hammock, or play chess on a giant chess board. The rooms are individual Mayan style bungalows with grass roofs, nestled through the jungle. It was very much a luxurious boutique hotel in the jungle. And the staff were absolutely wonderful. They all knew our names from the very beginning, and they couldn't have been kinder. Oh, and we loved the gorgeous pool! As well as offering great bird watching right from the clubhouse or the swimming pool, Jolie Jungle is just down the road from Reserva Toh, which is a conservation land trust. We took a guided bird tour there and saw over 50 species of birds, including a toucan and anacari. Our plan is to return to this gem every spring break, because we loved it so!

My friend and I stayed here for two nights on our way to Holbox after flying into Cancun. Once we got through the gate at the entrance, we checked into a charming, minimalist jungle bungalow with thatched roof and mosquito nets over the beds. The owners are beyond amazing and friendly, and there are Mayan Indian helpers who speak Mayan! The clubhouse is where food is served and you might get a little bit of Wi-Fi. The food is excellent and the local honey they have is out of this world. They even have a few bottles of it for sale and make their own bath products for the bungalows using the local honey. Location is close enough to check out Puerto Morelos and passed a ton of cenotes on the way. The property at Jolie Jungle is great and brings you back to nature. It is a fabulous jungle escape!

I stayed in bungalow #7 in February 4th and enjoyed the sounds of the jungle, plus I found that the owners were French chefs with a sense of humor and I enjoyed meeting them.. The food was great and inexpensive considering its quality. I was surprised to see so many exotic birds unafraid of humans and so close in the trees. No TV but who cares? It is the "jolie" jungle.

Jolie Jungle is an amazing place to spend some relaxing time in peace with nature. We immediately felt very comfortable, thanks to the beautiful location, the comfortable accomodation and the hospitality of everyone. The owners, Dino and Neda, are the most welcoming and warmhearted hosts. They will make your stay unforgettable and serve you very yummy french crepes.
