The review below titled "Mixed Review" is the EXACT review I would have given the same review and we are still here x 100% honestly!! I'm still here, and it's EXACTLY RIGHT xx We arrived to find that my 10 year old daughter would be sleeping on a sofabed which had a mattress 15cms off the floor!! What for all that hard earned money???? The images attached is what is on their website and what we got when we arrived is pictured!! (Completely honest review!!) The staff are absolutely amazing and work SO hard but there is SO much emphasis on the 'prestige guest" and 'adult only guest' that they forget about the hundreds of "family guests' and the 'first time guests' who have spent thousands of pounds and spent the best part of 10 to 14 hours of travelling to get to their hotel!! These could become your 'prestige guests" but they don't look after them. Everywhere you go there are signs on doors thanking prestige guests, there is a lovely bar in the main lobby which again, is 'adults only' , we went in there a couple of times and it's nice, and the staff are very professional but no kids. There is one side of the hotel which is adults only' , they want to charge over a £100 for inflatable party but again, was free for "prestige guests" and free yo everyone else after 2pm!! Then on another day, staff spent the whole day removing sunbeds, and taking up half the resort to create a "thank you' to prestige customers, which included a BBQ, a giant pinata, serving tables everywhere, so guests and children got excited thinking that it was a beach party. But no, yet again, it was for prestige customers, smack bang in the middle of the school holidays and we lost half the hotel for a night!! I just think that you should be aware before you spend a hell of alot of money to come here. Oh! And apparently, even though you have spent all this money, when you check out they want to charge you an EXTRA £2 per day for cleaning the room, so £28 extra!! Work that one out??? We had a lovely holiday AFTER we changed our room so that my daughter got a bed. (SO I had to pack, move room and them unpack!!) Would we come back? Honestly? No. It was SO lovely to get on a plane, come abroad and my daughter got to swim with the dolphins but I won't be returning to this hotel. Again, please read the review below. The review titled "Mixed Review" it is 100% exactly correct and we are still here. Thank you for reading my review xxx (It's completely honest x) Best wishes xx…
Day 3 of our 14 day holiday and the hotel has run out of white wine. Waiter's and cleaning staff amazing. Reception staff not helpful. There is a Concierge for every block of appointments. Not very helpful and some rude. I stayed in the Azul in Jamaica completely different.
So the good news is that the grounds of this resort are beautiful and very well maintained. The spa is excellent although a little expensive. The evening entertainment is pretty decent and a good variety of activities are available every day. Food in many of the restaurants is good quality… however… I absolutely do not rate this as 5 star. We are currently day 4 of our week here and not once has the lady around the pool serving drinks asked me or the kids if we need anything. I think this is because I asked her for a water on day one and she snapped at me saying it was her lunch hour… nice! Also two of the restaurants are unbearably hot with no air conditioning. Tapaz restaurant offers duck tacos but my daughter ended up getting chicken in lettuce as they had run out of duck and tacos…Beware of the surly hostess in Zavaz too! The food portions are fairly small and my side order of garlic mash was about two tablespoons in serving size. I am genuinely sad I booked this place instead of the many others on offer as the service is really rather poor. If you are staying here good luck!…
LONG REVIEW....SORRY....I THINK IT IS INFORMATIVE We just got back from our first ever all inclusive vacation at Azul Cancun (8-1 to 8-8) Overall I would say it was a good experience, not excellent or 5 star. I don't normally leave reviews but for the price of this trip I think it would be helpful for people to know things ahead of time, the good and the not so good. 1. We arrived early (travel agent suggested this to use resort for the day before check in at 3. Yes, you can use the resort if you can find a chair open by the pool. People, including us after we learned the first day to get up by 6 a.m. and reserve a chair by pool if you want an umbrella. We figured out that if there is a blue towel on the chair, it is taken regardless is someone is there for the day or not, this process starts as early as 6 a.m. 2. For the time of year we were there, we learned is seaweed season, the beach is almost unusable. There are mounds of seaweed like we would see mounds of snow in PA piled up on the beach. Yes, they do try to keep up with it but it seemed impossible. The worst part was the smell! It was horrible! You do get used to it especially after a few drinks, but it is very strong depending on where your room is located and the direction of the winds. 3. They do not have alcohol in the rooms (besides beer and a bottle of Champagne on arrival) nor can you order drinks to your room. You have to go to one of the bars and bring drinks back. This was disappointing for the price we paid for this vacation. My family went on a few excursions and if I wanted to relax on my patio facing the ocean I had to go down 4 flights to get a drink, kind of annoying. 4. The pools and "bridges" to get from pool to pool are not super "user friendly" to people with trouble walking (ie bad knees, disabilities with walking etc). There are mostly ladders to climb in and out of pools, only 2 places I noticed you could walk into the pool (which seemed quite steep to me) and the bridges which are beautiful that you go over are steep and can be very slippery. It is clearly marked on each bridge so caution is needed if you have trouble. 5. There is a beautiful marble very large staircase to lead from the lobby to the pool/resort section. This again was hard with someone with bad knees or problems with steps, however, after asking around we were able to find elevators, but not too many and they are very small. 6. We were not aware until we arrived that there are 2 sides to this resort. An adult only elite side and a family side. We were in the middle which was nice. Adults only (members/elite) have what we noticed as special privileges to the entire resort (ie no reservations for dinner, alcohol in the room, early check-in, beach was cleaner with less seaweed. I think the moved the seaweed to the non member's beach side) We did go during Member Appreciation Week which may be why we noticed the difference between the 2 sides of the resort and the activities. 7. The non-member side of the resort is definitely family friendly. They had lots of things to do for the kids and families alike. We actually preferred to sit around the family friendly pool. We met lots of families, there was always something to watch, music playing and there was a swim up bar for adults and kids. Kids loved swimming up to bar to get non alcoholic slushies, mud slides, all sorts of fun drinks. They had water polo, volleyball, water aerobics, paddleboard yoga, races, hamster wheel on water. Lots to do. 8. Food was pretty good, not what I would call 5 star, but it was very good. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Loved all the people we interacted with that worked at the resort. 9. Evening entertainment was fun, family friendly, however, shows started at 9:30 so after being at the pool all day staying awake until 9:30 was a stretch on some days depending on how you spent your day. 10. One more thing to note, we got 2 rooms that were supposed to be adjoining in what they list as" luxury suites". They were not adjoined which was frustrating since we shared some suitcases to save money on checked bags over 40 pounds and the "luxury suites" were far from luxury for what we paid. We were able to upgrade and get rooms together in another building which was so much nicer! I would have paid to start out there than switch the 2nd day. Over all a nice vacation, cannot say we will try this resort again! One more thing I forgot to mention, the resort felt very safe!…
We became members of the Karisma Exotic/Prestige vacation club in 2016. We haven’t had a bad vacation experience since: Once again they proved to be the best as far as I am concerned. We arrived a day late due to our own dopeyness, that’s a whole other story. When we arrived we were met by Anna and Ahmed who assured us our room would be ready to go very shortly and that our butler Dorian would get us over to it as soon as possible. Within a blink of an eye Dorian was by our side letting us know we were all set and he would take us to our room. From that point on Dorian was our guy and anything we needed he made sure we had (with help from our evening butler Valentin, can’t forget him). Dorian and a valentin took care of all of our dinner reservations, and checked in on us multiple times a day just to make sure we were completely enjoying our stay. For the most part we sat at the pool all week. While we were at the pool we had Venus, Sergio and Miguel making sure we had a cabana or chairs every day, and they kept us stocked with drinks in a cooler and it seemed like every time one of my daughters frozen drinks were about to be finished they were there asking if they wanted another. Erik and george kept the activities going in the pool, from trivia to aquarobics or waterpolo there was something to do every morning or afternoon. Erik hosted a great foam party in the adult only pool complete with a beer drinking contest, it was a great time. The resort was clean, the rooms were spacious and comfortable and the food was to die for. If this review doesn’t tell you enough I’ll say it again….WE HAD A GREAT TIME. If you stay here I would hope that you are lucky enough to deal with Ahmed, Anna, Dorian and Valentin as your welcome and butler service staff. And I would definitely seek out Venis, Sergio and Miguel at the pool and try and get to any activity run by Erik and George! They will all make you feel as if you are family!…
We absolutely loved the resort! Room - massive - super clean jacuzzi in room. Good shampoos conditioners shower gel flannels, proper coffee/machine, mini bar beers and branded beer pop /water - topped up every day - all included Loads of activities for the kids (older and younger) Good teens club Food - amazing but you have to get booked in the gourmet restaurants early in the week (Sunday 1pm) . Otherwise it’s all you can eat buffet but that was very good standard Pools /grounds so well kept 100s of workers it was so clean and well looked after 3 swim up bars 1 adult only pool, 2 quiet pools 1 family pool Entertainment amazing Day & night we loved it archery polo, volleyball, football teens club, games consoles, tv, pool, table soccer etc ! George the on-site entertainer was amazing !! Downsides - restaurants got booked up real quick but once we knew the times to book was great Beach there’s a huge seaweed problem and although they try sooooo hard to clear it 10-20 of them every day raking piles it was rife ! (Seaweed problem is seasonal - is gone by September we are told!) Lovely extras like cold aromatherapy flannels handed out in reception, proper drink brands etc - expenses they didn’t Need to go to that mad a difference ! Some of the rooms aren’t brand new and need doing up (but they’ve lost a lot over covid so trying to recoup obvs) but block 3 was fantastic where we were - pristine Loved xcaret and chichen itza trips wonderful holiday highly recommended…
I am currently staying at the Azul Beach hotel with my family. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, the staff fabulous and the food incredible. Our room is also perfect. If however you want a holiday where you can lie and relax on the beach, then this is definitely not the hotel for you. I had read some comments about the seaweed, however what I had read really didn’t describe the extent of the seaweed and the implications of it. There is a Bobcat running across the beach all day moving the seaweed. The smell of its petrol is horrendous, in addition to the smell of the rotting seaweed, but it’s also incredibly noisy. I watched the sun rise the other morning, listening to the waves, it was idyllic …. but before I knew it the noisy Bobcat came trundling along the beach and just ruined it. The hotel also have a beach platform for a morning yoga session which is a lovely way to start your morning and something I was looking forward to doing … yes, until the Bobcat makes an appearance and any sense of calm and relaxation is ruined. The sea itself is totally unusable. The water is brown and you find yourself tangled in the growing seaweed. It really is uninviting. I was looking forward to using kayaks which the hotel provide however I have given up on this. We were also looking forward to hiring a Balinese bed on the beach however due to the smell of the Bobcat, the noise of the Bobcat and sea that you wouldn’t want to venture into to cool down, we have given up on this experience. I appreciate the hotel do what they can to address a problem which is ultimately caused by nature, however the facilities should be advertised with an honest statement regarding the beach/sea conditions at certain times of the year and how this impacts guests. Guests can then make an informed choice about their booking. This is my family’s first holiday since 2019 and one we were really looking forward to, but the lack of a useable beach and sea has been a great disappointment to us, especially as the hotel otherwise ticks all the boxes.…
My mother, daughter, and I have been taking a "Girls Trip" for the past 5 years. This year we visited Cancun. Let me begin with the positive (LOL) The staff is AMAZING! They are polite and service-oriented. Special shout out to Lesvia (she kept our room sparkling); Wilberth (great food server and super cute to boot LOL) and Blanca (kept the drinks coming poolside and at our swimout room) The property overall is nice but could use some upgrades (tile in pools, walkways, and rooms) The food was pretty good, especially the seafood and chicken was fresh and well seasoned. Our challenge with the property was the smell of the seaweed and the condition of the beach. Ugh! Very disappointing after coming from Antigua and Jamacia during previous years. Overall, it was a GREAT trip and we recommended this location on the basis of the services and overall amenities.…
I stayed at this hotel as my niece was getting married here. I was somewhat disappointed with my stay at the hotel compared to other 5 star hotels. The variety and choice of food was not good. I have found in other 5 stars much more choice. The food was never hot and a lot of time too salty. When they ran out off food early it was sometimes not replaced. On one occasion there was no sides left at 9pm and they said there was no more. A supervisor came along then all of a sudden a tray of rice came out. The beach is not good and although they try to clean it, it still remains full of seaweed and brown sea, which means the sun beds at the pool get filled up quickly. The club finishes at 1am nothing for young adult or even old adults to do after that time. The shop on site is extremely expensive also their wellness services e.g massages etc The hotel has so much more potential and could do with some modern touch ups. The pros for the hotel is the rooms are a very good size, the hotel is very clean, Wi-Fi is excellent no chipping out. It is a big complex and the grounds are kept very clean. I’m moving to my next hotel on Thursday as I have twin stay so it will be interesting to compare the two hotels…
What an amazing vacation for our family! We loved the connecting rooms, pools, and kids had a blast at Azulitos and the slide. We couldn’t get enough amazing room service and Dorian and Valentin (our butlers) were by far the best! They treated us like family and helped with anything and everything! Thank you 🙏🏼
