Ocean Coral & Turquesa offers a prime beachfront location praised by guests for both relaxation and excursions. The hotel boasts a variety of pools, with adult-only options highlighted, though some travelers suggest opting for Privilege upgrades to enhance the experience. While the staff receives accolades for their service, particularly from butlers and restaurant servers, opinions on value and cleanliness vary, with some guests finding inconsistencies. The rooms are spacious and some have been recently renovated, yet issues with maintenance have been noted. Overall, the hotel provides a lively and diverse atmosphere.

Hotel's Favorite
We are still currently at this fabulous hotel - my thoughts below on how we have found it as a family of 4 from the U.K. Firstly, I would suggest taking American dollars with you rather than pesos albeit it’s hard to spend anything here. The smaller the notes the better I.e. if you can get 1$ bills that would be ideal - great for tipping the numerous great team here! Arrival at airport You will need to fill in a declaration slip at the airport - 1 per family (TUI didn’t have these on the flight so we had to get them at the baggage handling) Transfer from the hotel A bit bumpy and hot but should take circa 1 hour Arrival at hotel We didn’t have a queue to wait in however I have seen large queues throughout our stay normally when large groups are booking in from what looks like large sporting groups There will be a hotel team member standing near the queue who will be very pleasant and will go out of their way to welcome you to the hotel and answer any nuestions you may have - watch out, they will be constantly at you throughout your stay to join them for 1-1.5 hours for a time share meeting - this is a bit too hard sell for us (My family needs the commission I get from this type of thing!!) Rooms We had 2 rooms and had asked for them right next door to each other - we got what we asked and they were ideal. Close to reception and full working WiFi with an easy to use safe in the wardrobe. Minibars stocked daily without fail as was the room being made up - I can only imagine that this who haven’t had this have either been in the room or have left the sign up asking for the room not to be serviced. We had a small water ingress in the Tom beside the wardrobes which was clearly the air con leaking - reported to reception at 11:15pm and resolved via maintenance at 11:35pm The coffee in the room is awful but don’t worry, plenty of other options available throughout the hotel at any time Pools - all fresh water We stayed mainly at the main pool which is the one beside the smoothie bar and Mikes coffee shop. Wonderful setting and feels like you’re on the beach without actually needing to ho down there. The other pool has a swim up bar and seems a bit more lively but we didn’t go down there that often. There’s is a kids pool and a privilege pool which again we didn’t go in Sun Beds Due to time difference, I was up very early throughout our stay and found the temperature at 6:30am really nice to lie in with sun-beds of our choosing - believe it or not, at that time of day there are already a dozen or so towels down with no-one to be seen! The buffet appears to be open from 6am so unlike other places we’ve visited, if you choose to get up early, you can have breakfast, coffee and relax on your bed at slightly cooler temperatures. When the sun really comes out 11am-5pm it’s so hot!!! By 9am you will be highly unlikely to get a sun-bed! It’s 7:30am as I write this Abd roughly half of them have gone already! Tennis / Football Very close the main pool and kids pool - always available when we were there but so hot and hard to stay too long. You get tennis bats / table tennis bats from the towel collection point Entertainment A full list available throughout the day / the Blue team are very good at getting everyone involved Restaurants / Bars - this hotel is superb for those with allergens (the team ask you EVERY time you visit whether you have any allergies and you can also put a message on when you book) Dress code in a la carte is pretty relaxed - no need for long trousers - as long as you do the old ‘smart / casual’ you’ll be fine (A la carte bookable via the app - scan the QR code on reception, add your reservation number when you check in and get booking what you’d like! You can’t book for the a la carte until the day you want to go but don’t worry, if you go on at 8am to book your meal, you will get in - we’ve booked about 8 times and have got every time we wanted! Leave it later in the day to book and you’ll be less likely!) Marina - a la Carte lunch (no booking required) and Brazilian evening (booking required) - excellent with great staff and food Italian - bookable for the evening and also excellent Japanese - bookable for the evening - great theatre with the chef cooking the great food in front of you Buffet - no need to book and the food is good! Always very quiet when we visited but again we tend to go early! Team pretty always on hand to help. Some guests get dressed up to visit others appear to gob in straight from the pool Mikes coffee shop - Great place open from 8am. The lady in there is excellent and never stops - a bit like Starbucks / Costa but all part of the all inclusive package Smoothie bar - Also great, open from 8am (not 7am as it says on the app) - I think it closes at 12 noon to change in to a nachos place but not overly sure Lobby Bar - like all the bars, quite slow service at times with a number of the team happier talking to each other than us guests! Jesus is the exception to this and is always very polite and helpful No real urgency to serve you and at times rudely serving ‘regular’ guests whilst pouring the drinks you have patiently waited to be served - again, not all the time but quite often! The waiting staff for drinks however throughout the lobby bar are excellent and as such save you going the bar - we have tipped them all throughout our stay but have never felt like they were looking for any form of tip - just nice people looking to deliver a great service Around the pool drinks service is great albeit does take a while for the drinks to come and in this heat they tend to be warm by the time you get them - Antonio is great and always working with a smile and good banter Bowling Opens at 3pm and very good to get out of the heat. Free and also has a bar with great staff Teens club Very quiet when we were there. It has a very poor pool table, football table (get the balls from the bowling area) air hockey (get paddles from bowling area) and also games consoles - I think you must get the controllers from the bowling area too Spa Don’t know much about this other than seems a bit pricey? 98$ for 25 minutes?!? Gym Again, don’t know much about this other than you access it throughout the day through the spa and at other times from a door on the 3rd floor. My wife tells me it is good. It can be quite warm at times and doesn’t take too many people to make it busy Running There is running route going around the hotel which again I am told is flat and decent Beach Not a big deal for us but if you do like a beach holiday and going in to the sea, this is not for you! The seaweed issue is massive for the hotel and they do try and do what they can to sort however no sooner have they cleared it and its back again. The smell is strong however we have got used to it! The water is not the turquoise you’d expect and as such I’ve only seen a handful of people in there! Doesn’t bother us though as the pools are that close to the beach The hotel is big but seems really small - sounds strange but everything is close by and doesn’t take any effort to go to any part of it that you choose. We are loving our stay with the only annoyance being the pestering from hotel staff on time shares - feels at time like you can’t go through reception without someone badgering you! The all inclusive package including mini bar in the room is far better than any European one we’ve been too! Yes, you can upgrade to privilege and get better drinks but for the cost (I believe it’s about £1500 for 2 weeks?!?) I wouldn’t bother. You do get a better room I believe and access to another pool / restaurant - from what we’ve heard, these rooms are not worth the extra! Hope this helps someone

The trip was awesome, a few employees stood out as outstanding and need to be recognized. First , Jose the beach / cabana guy was friendly and extremely accommodating, next Ricardo our waiter at the Privilege pool was outstanding each and every day and lastly Gilda in the main lobby bar was so pleasant and friendly the entire stay , we actually stopped in each night just to get a drink served by her, Phenomenal!!!

We had a great trip-- the weather was wonderful! The whole resort was very clean. Staff worked hard to keep the beach clean. The only downside was that a huge proportion of chairs at the adult pool had towels on them before 6am. All of the staff is awesome!. They're a nice bunch of people, but especially: Ricardo PC and Jose took the best care of us at the Adults pool. Fresh drinks and fresh towels showed up before we even knew we needed them. They're the best! The whole team in the Privilege Lounge was awesome. Emmanuel, Jesus, Ricardo, Kevin, Victor, Jhonatan, Reynaldo, Susana, and Lorenzo were responsive to every request. Every meal and beverage was exactly what we wanted. We couldn't have asked for better service. Daniel cooked Italian for us outdoors, and served us at Ritratto d'Italia. He made both experiences enjoyable.

Carlos the bartender in the lobby was great. The staff at the hotel in general is awesome, they really seem to enjoy their work. Ricardo on the beach is also great, always trying to make your trip better. This isn't the biggest or fanciest resort is very well managed and very enjoyable. The beach is great.

My wife and I were there for 10 days, from February 5 to the 15 in the El Beso (adults only) section in building 3. Here are our comments: Transfer from the airport was fast. The hotel is very well kept inside and outside and they work at it daily. So are the grounds. There is a lot of walking around involved on the site to get to the bars, pools, etc. Not very appropriate for people with disabilities. The staff is friendly and eager to help. Upon arrival they tried to get us to join their fidelity program, after a polite but firm NO they left us alone. The beautiful beach is wide with fine white sand and seaweeds are removed early in the morning whenever there is some. You can walk for more than an hour on the beach going west. Reaching Puerto Morelos takes about 45 minutes at a medium pace. El Beso guests have a reserved section on the beach but the rules are not really enforced. There are lots of palapas/umbrellas available and you don't need to get up before dawn to reserve one. Housekeeping does an excellent job and deserve a tip. Choice of liquor is limited at the bars unless you are with the Privileged club. Unlike many other hotel bars, the barmen at the lobby bar don't seem to remember you even if you tip them. The El Beso pool is rather quiet and is also for Privileged and Premium guests. The action being at the main pool. There are 3 restaurants you can reserve with the hotel app; Sensai (japanese), Villa Marina (brazilian) and Ritratto d'italia (italian) . For the others, you have to give your name starting at 6PM and they give you a time. The italian is good, so is the japanese. The brazilian was a major disappointment with meat overcooked or undercooked, barely warm and with LOTS of fat. The side dishes were also barely warm. The mexican restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Blue Moon (romantic restaurant) was also good. We did not try Route 66. House wine was OK every time. The buffet was fine for breakfast and lunch but not so for dinner with too few choices. We tried the El Bistro by the El Beso pool for lunch and it was OK but service was slow and with limited choices. Ocean Burger by the main pool was good and perfect/quick for lunch. Evening entertainment was mostly OK except for some out of control kids running around, screaming and getting on everyone's nerves. We usually do not go back to the same hotel but we could consider returning to this one.
