Jin, Mariela, and the rest of the team at Abbey del Sol were incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful. They gave us lots of tips for things to do, how to do them, etc. The hotel itself was so beautiful: both the room and the pool area which is nice and sunny in the mornings and shaded in the afternoons. And Puerto Morelos is adorable! We loved exploring the restaurants, beach clubs, and shops that this quaint little town had to offer. And we're so glad we did it from Abbey del Sol! You really can't beat the value for the price.

We’ve used Abbey del Sol several times over the years and love that they have a variety of options. For this stay we chose Casa Agua Azul, a beautiful three bedroom house with courtyard, pool and tons of large balconies which turned out to be the perfect option for this trip. The staff can help arrange massages, snorkeling tours or pretty much anything else you might want or need. Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about the Abby del Sol! The staff is amazing, the suites have everything you need and the beach is a block away. Great pool and loungers also. We stayed in 2 different suites on 2 different trips and Jin and his team went above and beyond to assist us. Don’t hesitate to book!

we stayed here for 1 week and had a great vacation. Had a total of 4 people. The location was right on the beach. The beach was well kept and maintained. Jim, the host was fantastic. the unit had plenty of dishes and cooking utisels. we cooked in many nights and had breakfst in the unit every day. Perfect spot, and the price was reasonable. it is only about 3 blocks form the town square. Great walk down the beach..

I've waited way too long to write this review. But here it goes. In July of 2021, I spent the better part of three weeks in Mexico, both by myself and with a group. The group was at a resort the first week while I stayed by myself in Puerto Morelos then we met in the middle of the trip and finished the trip at a different resort. I had unique needs when planning this trip of solitude to work and rest during the first half of the trip, meet up with a larger group in the middle and then finish the trip at a resort. Abbey del Sol provided the pieces I needed and made me want for more. The first week, I rented an apartment that is right on the beach. It was called Casa Frida and has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It also has a full kitchen, a living/dining area and a balcony that overlooks the pool and the ocean. It's a third floor unit. I don't think I have a single bad thing to say about this apartment and am already looking forward to staying there two more times this year. Since I didn't know anything about Abbey del Sol when I booked, I was a little hesitant at first. I booked, paid online and received a call from staff to arrange details. I was arriving after 4pm and by the time I got my rental car and to PM, would be pushing the time of their office close which is normally 5pm. Jin assured me that when I arrived, they would be ready for me. He was a great reassurance. When I arrived, I went to the Abbey del Sol office to check in, get my keys and meet the amazing staff. They treat you like they are waiting for you and you only, like you're their only guest for the day. They were warm, friendly and accommodating. I knew immediately that this would be a great trip. After a brief check in, Jin took me to my apartment which was one block over. I left my car parked at the office. He took me inside and made sure everything looked okay. The apartment was incredible. It was warm inside when I arrived though. If there is one bit of advice I would give, it would be to maybe have the AC checked out and running before arrival. That would be a nice touch. After taking a look at the apartment, I went back, got my car and found easy, free parking at the small apartment complex and took my bags upstairs. Because of COVID, I think this apartment had been vacant for longer than normal but was cleaned perfectly. There wasn't a single thing out of place. I tried, though, to turn on the AC and one of them didn't turn on at all. It was in the bedroom that I was going to be sleeping so it was fairly important. I called and within the hour, maintenance was there and had it fixed and the apartment cooled in the afternoon heat nicely. The apartment has everything you need. It was fully equipped with all cooking utensils, plates, bowls, cups, etc as well as an oven, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. I didn't cook a single thing on this trip, but could have if I wanted to do so. There are also beach towels to use as well as high quality bath towels. Take a quick 2 minute drive to the grocery store and stock up on items you might want during your stay. Each day at this apartment is what you make of it and the staff will check on you a couple of times to make sure all is well. They truly had the best customer service I've ever seen and they seemed to be legitimately interested in their guests well being. I spent part of every day on the beach and ended up at the pool in the evening. During my stay, I saw 5-6 other units rented or lived in at any time. Many of these are privately owned. I met one owner from Canada and had a lengthy conversation about how tremendous of a place it had been for him over the years. The morning sunrise on the balcony is the best and I encourage those who stay here to enjoy it daily. You can sleep it off on the beach. I stayed at Casa Frida for the most relaxing week in recent memory and loved every second of it. When my adult children were done with the first part of their trip at a resort, we all connected and moved into our second Abbey del Sol property, Casa Mulder. Casa Mulder is a 3 1/2 story house with 5 bedrooms and I believe 5 bathrooms, a small pool in a beautiful courtyard. All the needed and wanted amenities are in this one as were in Casa Frida. Unlike many vacation homes, there was little expense spared on things like high quality towels and household items. The pool here is small and surprisingly deep (5 foot or so) so if you're here with children, make sure you have some sort of floatation. Again, we didn't cook a meal at our days in this house, but ordered delivery and ate outside multiple times. It was perfect. The roof has a lounge area that I found warmer that I prefer during the day but absolutely perfect at night. Seeing the lighthouse to the south and looking across the town and seeing people enjoy their rooftops after dark was relaxing and memorable. The only down side to this house is that the downstairs doesn't have AC. All of the rooms have individual mini-split units that were excellent. But in July, this American found it difficult to enjoy the indoors on the bottom floor. That was okay, we just got on the pool and cooled off, then enjoyed our time in the many lounge chairs and outdoor table area. The layout of the house is like nothing I've ever seen. We walked through a gate that led us to a large courtyard with trees and bicycles to use. Then, we went in the front door. To the right was a stair case that took us all the way up. Two of the second floor bedrooms had balconies and the master had a massive balcony and access to the massive roof lounge area. The decorations were perfect and made the home feel like we were in Mexico. There is a 5 gallon filtered water dispenser and if you run out, call the staff and you'll have another quickly. The main reason for the house between legs of our trip was for us all to be able to wind down from the week before and to do laundry. We were able to all do our laundry and be prepared for the final week of our trip at Casa Mulder. I heard from manager Mariela 3-4 times during my stay to make sure all was well. Once, I needed a ride and she was quick to get me a taxi. Her personality makes it worth going here all by itself. Jin and Nancy were great too and the staff seemed like they were family. Make sure you tip well at the end of your stay. The properties are immaculate and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. I cannot say enough about them. I've missed a thousand things on this review because I was so slow getting it done but will add another once I complete my next trip there soon. I will be a regular with Abbey del Sol and will skip the resorts going forward as often as possible.

Our apartment was spacious and comfortable with a king size bed, large patio with dining table and two loungers overlooking the pool. The living area had a fully equipped kitchen, another dining table, two sofas, smart TV and a juliet balcony overlooking the street. Less than five minutes walk from the beach and about ten minutes walk to the downtown. A really comfortable and relaxing property who provide bicycles and beach furniture too. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Our stay was cut short this year due to Covid19 and we had to return home and they refunded us the last two days of our stay which we really appreciated. Highly recommended.

Once again we stayed at Abbey Del Sol vacation complex and once again The staff were professional and helpful. The complex is always super clean, has all required appliances, cutlery, dishes etc. Actually better quality and more than other vacation rentals supply. Due to a accident on the highway we were delayed approx an hour from our planned arrival time and the staff made sure everything was open and ready for us.
