I am very open-minded and like a lot of different types of hotels from all-inclusives, to boutique hotels, to budget, etc. While this might be the best option in Puerto Morelos besides the all-inclusive options, it needs many improvements. The main improvement is in the service department. The girl at the front desk took our ecological tax and then, followed us to our room because she said she did not collect enough. She never gave us the WiFi information, so we had to ask for it (and there are no phones in the room). We were on the third floor and the staircase is for very skinny people (no elevator). Next, I stepped in a puddle of water on the floor and realized the wall A/C was leaking. I told the Cleaning Person because I said there were also a lot of black hairs on the floor and she just put a towel there and called maintenance. He said he had to go downstairs and check something, so we waited, but he never returned. Finally, we decided to head out and when we told the front desk, they said he had an "emergency." Don't you think they would have told us? Very unprofessional. We had breakfast included in our package and you can only order eggs with one ingredient, which was really funny. They came with mashed potatoes. I've never had mashed potatoes with eggs before. We had to leave the next morning before breakfast started, so I asked if we could have lunch day 1 instead, and they never got me an answer. I realize it's Mexico, but the Waiters really could not communicate. They should know enough words in a tourist area - even when I tried Spanish or pointing, they still didn't understand. I had to order our breakfast from the front desk. On our first night, we had drinks for Happy Hour, which is states is from 4-8 PM and the guy had a hard time taking our order for the drinks too. Then, he told us we had to leave 'cuz they were closing at 7 PM. I had to drink my drink very quickly. I told him it said till 8 and he said, "yes, 7!" OMG! Heading back to town, we ran into the manager and explained our issues with air conditioning and no light in the bathroom and hairs on the floor. He said he would check right away. When we came back, nothing was done. He didn't even go in the room. But, he sure was decked out for a night on the town when they closed an hour early! When we checked out, I gave the girl our room number and she said, "OK, Julie." I told her there was no Julie in our party and then, she found my name. When we arrived, there were no toiletries and we had to ask the Cleaning attendant. Oh, and there was a large, dead roach in the hallway that was in a pile with dirt from the cleaning person. When we were walking downstairs, there were hair balls and Q-tips and I told her because it was gross. Sometimes certain things can be overlooked if service is good or even acceptable. The hotel is cute when you first enter - the lobby and the dining area have an authentic feel. The pool area needs some updating - actually, they should make it an infinity and it could be awesome. The rooms really need some more updating. For one, a fridge in the room would help along with a nightstand between the beds. They need to take down the dark brown drapes and replace them with white sheers (even from Walmart would be a big improvement). Framing the bathroom mirror would be a huge improvement as well. They also need a mirror in the bedroom - there's plenty of room for one. There's no full length mirror and the bathroom is too dark (plus, it makes it easier for more than one person to get ready). The rooms are spacious, so there is potential. The third floor balconies are very sad. I have no idea why they would ever make them so small and I had to laugh because the Hotel Manager said that was the "deluxe." We always joked about that. This hotel could have a lot of potential as it's in a great location on the beach and walking distance to everything in town. Oh, and the pool closes at 7 PM, but all of the locals were there till late at night and there were no employees to monitor them and there weren't any lights either. The hotel let the locals use the pool, which is fine, but they over-took the whole area every afternoon and then, smoked and ate at the pool, which is gross. I really wanted to give this hotel a better rating. I wanted to like it, but I'm being nice in my review.

Typical no-thrills beach hotel. Rooms on ground level have direct pool access and plenty of room to kick back with friends or family. Second floor has big balconies overlooking the pool and ocean. Skip third floor. Very basic but great value. Absolutely recommend for friends piling in together to party. Our room had two queens with another double on the side. BIG rooms. Could even sleep a couple more on padded bench seats in private area next to pool (though probably discouraged). Incredible Supermarket just down the street with EVERYTHING, including sushi bar and even inside tap beer bar!! Top rated breakfast joint right across the street! NOT A RESORT, but ya can’t get better if you’re on a budget!!!

The hotel wasn't bad, but 3 months later I got a $300.73 fraudulant charge to my credit card from this hotel. When I called to inquire about the charge, they couldn't speak very good english and they hung up on me. The credit card company is disputing it.

This hotel is about 25 minutes from the Cancun Airport which makes it a great place to stay if you are not planning on staying in Cancun, or like in our case, heading to Tulum. The location is great, right on the beach, check in is fast, parking is available. The rooms however, are desperately in need of an update. In our room, the condensation from the AC was dripping down the wall and leaving a puddle on the floor. The floor is tile, so this created an invisible slick spot. The rest of the room looked worn and tired.

This three story beachfront hotel just two blocks from the town square has much to commend, but with a few more amenities and creature comforts could easily rise to a four star property. The large rooms and beachfront views with pool and on/site restaurant and bar make it one of the more attractive venues in a locale with considerable charm and character. Very convenient to the town square, with a bevy of good, reasonably priced restaurants and bars within close walking distance. For beachgoers used to the white sands and touquise waters of Isla Mujeres and Cozumel, the sargasso grass build/up on the shoreline and brown water is disappointing. But the excellent diving and snorkeling just a few miles away make up for this to an extent. The rooms, while large and well laid out, are spartan and devoid of character and charm. The towels are almost threadbare, the courtesy bathroom shampoo, soap, and shampoo are low end, and no conditioner is provided. No room refrigerators, coffee makers, hair dryers, alarm clock or radios. Furnishings are adequate but lack any local handicrafts or artwork. No chairs or table which could easily utilize the ample room space. Included breakfast is a plus, but lack of variety in offerings and presentation could be easily improved. Wait staff are helpful and accommodating but overworked.
