Visit this lovely place 3-4 times a year... Was so disappointed today (June 2016) to see that the port light is no more... ! My youngest daughter was nearly crying that the pirate play area has been taken down. However when it's back up and running under it's new name we'll be back to visit and try it out !

We chose the port light hotel due to it's dog friendly nature. Most guests had a dog and the staff were extremely friendly. Dogs are welcome throughout the hotel as long as they are on a lead. The south west coastal path goes straight past the hotel so there are plenty of walks. We decided to eat at the hotel... More

We spent a lovely 4 nights here in early October. The hotel sits high on the headland next to a huge field which our dog, Mollie, loved romping through. Our room was compact but spotlessly clean and comfy. Mollie is only a small dog so we had no problem with room size. The food in the restaurant was the big... More

We used Room 7 this time, ground floor, very convenient if you have a dog with you which is the norm with this hotel. The weather was very kind to us for our short break. The food was very good, the service prompt and caring, this is what we have come to expect from Port Light. We shall return I... More

Thank you once again to everyone at the Port Light for looking after us so well The food was as usual very good (what a lovely surprise to see Dave again) We stayed in room 7 as usual which saves our arthritic knees from doing the stairs & the porch allows us to wipe wet paws before entering the room.... We have just stayed at the port light hotel for a long weekend and had a really good time. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. There are amazing views across the Downs and to the sea beyond. The hotel website gives good information on the rooms and the views from each room. The owners and their staff are friendly... More

Very tasty homemade lunch after a long walk, in a small hotel where the pleasant staff were welcoming and helpful. Happy to recommend as a good place to refuel. Fascinating old photos and information about the history of the building and old golf course on the walls.

For those wanting a holiday with their pooch, then this is a great hotel. The staff, atmosphere, food and service are excellent. Great views, and lovely and quiet. Will certainly stay again. Their breakfast sets you up for the lovely National Trust cliff walks. Great local places of interest very close by, so plenty to do.

This restaurant had been recommended to us by a friend and we decided to try it on a Saturday night. We pulled up quite late in the evening and our first impression was that it was very quiet - there were quite a few occupied tables but no one was talking! That could have been down to the time of...
