Vritomartis Hotel & Bungalows is a naturist hotel located in the region of Sfakia on the south coast of Crete, near the village of Chora Sfakion. Vritomartis hotel has 180 beds in 85 beautifully appointed rooms, of which 42 are located on two floors in the main building and 43 in 9 separate bungalows. Vritomartis is a licensed naturist resort following the guidelines of the International Naturist Federation and has been working as a naturist resort for more than 15 years. It is situated on a promontory overlooking the South Cretan Sea with the majestic White Mountains as a background. It is the perfect place to enjoy the summer sun of Crete naked. You can enjoy a calm and relaxing swim either at our 25m long swimming pool or at our naturist beach "Filaki". It is also worth mentioning that we are an environmentally sustainable hotel that has made important environmental improvements to its structure in order to minimize its impact on the natural environment.

First time in Vritomartis and we had 2 amazing weeks in this wonderful resort. The hotel was lovely, with a pool area and a private naturist beach to choose whatever you like. The environment and the atmosphere generally was very chill and cool. We had a really relaxing getaway from our daily routine. The food was very tasty with a variety of greek and cretan choices. There were plenty of naturist activities that you could do, such as naturist boat trips. We personally walked to both Samaria Gorge and Imbros Gorge and i have to say that it was an excellent experience. Don't forget to mention about the staff, which was very friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a great experience and we definitely are going to visit Vritomartis again in the future.

The hotel was lovely, beautiful grounds and pool area with nice cushioned sun loungers, plenty of outside and inside seating areas, rooms were excellent, comfy bed and cleaned to a high standard. All staff we came across were friendly, helpful and very professional. Loved the local area including the town and villages not too far away, we did have a car which enabled us to visit some great places, the hotel felt very tranquil and a relaxing place to be. The Nudist beach is about a 15 minute walk, water shoes are needed getting in and out the water, lunch and service at the beach Taverna was very good but if you like to go to the beach most days it definitely needs more food choices. Disappointing that the hotel charge to use the sun beds at the beach when they are free to use at the pool area, especially if you are purchasing drinks and lunch. The evening entertainment was sometimes fun, think more than one disco evening would be welcomed in a typical week as it appeared guests wanted to have a good dance. Enjoyed the Yoga in the afternoon and there were plenty of things to participate in if that is your thing. Lots of trips and walking tours available. We walked to Loutro across the White Mountains which was a really fun day with the most amazing views, you can stop along the way to swim at Sweet Water Beach, if you don’t fancy the walk, you can take the boat taxi from Sfakia. As foodies because it was buffet food we would have preferred to opt for B&B, Generally, the buffet was okay including the excellent service. The bits that need to be addressed is the food, at best being luke warm and sometimes not particularly appetizing whilst it had been sitting there, we often dined around 8.30pm and they had run out of some dishes, more variation needed on the choices. Perhaps starter and desert as buffet, but main course ordered fresh from a menu as an a la carte which would ensure food would be served hot. Breakfast was generally good, selection of fresh breads and some fruit we did not have any cooked items, needs an egg station for fresh omelettes etc and as is typical of Crete some Fresh Orange Juice and coffee served at the table. Excellent, relaxing environment. Made all the better by the staff who seem equally relaxed. A hire car is best (hire one privately rather than through the hotel to save up to €100). Road from Chania is a good but very twisty mountainous road. Breakfast and Dinner could have had more choices. Pool and beach bar had limited choices. Large beer was €5.50. Average age of Clientele is probably about 70. Everyone very friendly, Why no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms ?? Probably so the hotel can charge €3 for a cuppa outside of Breakfast hours. Only went on one excursion which was an excellent 3hr hike with Lydia that cost €15. Evening entertainment was ok, especially the female singer (Olympia)/keyboard player, her voice was AMAZING.

Our second visit ( third is already booked !) . Absolutely wonderful, we simply had an amazing time. As last year, ( whilst a lot of staff had changed) it was the personnel that made it so good. Not that we had any problems, but small queries were answered / sorted immediately. Food was absolutely first class , a new chef bought fresh ideas and given the fact that food prices have risen dramatically chef managed to provide us with exceptional dishes . Of course, none of this could happen with out back room staff, kitchen, cleaning, maintenance, everyone contributes to an amazing service. A big thank you to everyone

First time naturist and how lucky to experience it here. Firstly the hotel, beautiful location, very clean and well run. Pool is a great size for a lazy or more physical swim with plenty of beds to choose from. Pool bar with excellent food and drinks selection made even better by cocktail happy hour! Rooms are spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Now the beach, a hidden cove with a lovely beach bar and again more than enough beds. If you’re a little precious like me I would say beach shoes are a must for being confident and comfortable getting into the water. If you are new to naturism this is the ideal place to try, I felt comfortable and with no pressure to bare all. It’s lovely that in the evening everyone gets dressed up for dinner and there is entertainment from the animation team all week both during the day, from yoga to volleyball, to the evening with live music and quizzes, it really does have something for everyone. I even hired a scooter to see some of the area which was great fun as it is very remote, but that is part of the charm. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely stay, I really hope to visit again.…

We arrived for three nights only unfurtunatelly. The hotel is great. Beautiful pool, gardens, rooms and view. The food was very tasty and the variety was good. The staff is very helpfull and nice. All of them! The receptionists, the cleaners, the emplooyees at the dinning room.. Lydia was fabulous! She is an asset to the hotel! Fun, kind, helpful and very professional yoga teacher. We loved the option to go naked to the beach, and the whole site is very relaxed and friendly to first time nudists. Our only comment is that the mattresses are too soft and old and not very comfortable anymore. We will definitely come back! Thank you!

Second time we go to this hotel. We loved the experience and would repeat. The rooms are very good and the staff always tries to make things easy for guests. The problems that appeared were always resolved satisfactorily thanks to their workers. This year it was an added value Lidia and Nicolas who animated very well with the proposed activities, we actively participated in aquagym and yoga, and they made us feel very comfortable on our vacations. Two very loving people, with the ability to bring people together and values aligned with what is expected from the staff of a naturist resort. We had the best pool party of the year with them and all the other guests. The hotel is nudist but inside you have to wear clothes, I would prefer not to, but by law they are obliged.…

This was our first visit to Vritomartis and it exceeded our expectations. We were very impressed by the professionalism and hard work of all the staff - reception, waiters, cleaners, the animators. Everyone was well trained, friendly, attentive and eager to please. Vritomartis is not just a lovely place to lie in the sun or swim without clothes. In addition, the programme of excursions was wonderful. So much so as well as lazing by the pool or on the beach, we spent time trekking the Aradena and Ilingas gorges, climbing Mount Pachnes and descending the Samaria gorge in a privately organised trip. Special mention here to Lydia, whose bubbly warm enthusiasm was infectious. Also the programme of resort activities was excellent. We had never before done Couples Yoga or Aqua Fitness but Nicholas and Lydia made them accessible, inclusive and fun. We are already arranging our trip for next year. AndyFagg…

First stay at Vritomartis and have had a lovely holiday! The naturist resort is a perfect place to stay if you want to go to naturist for the first time! During your stay, there’s a good mix of excursions and activities. If possible, the excursions are naturist (the Jeep safari with Lydia, the boat excursions to the West coast and to Gavdos). The yoga, power stretching and aqua fitness sessions given by Lydia and Nicolas were a perfect start of the day and both are very good in their discipline! Also special thanks to the staff who is super friendly! Though perfect for people who want to practice naturism for the first time, many people return back to Vritomartis because the mixture of naturism and the friendly atmosphere! And next year I will be one of them 😊

Just come back from a week at Vritomartis. All the staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent activities, including trips to the local gorges and mountains- Lydia was a conscientious and informative guide. Was relieved that it was OK to wear pants for yoga. I would not have done it otherwise. Not everyone wants to be totally exposed in every position. Lydia and Nicholas led the yoga sessions with skill and humour.
