This was my first time visiting this part of England so a family member in the area recommended staying at Twin Oaks. What an amazing place! From the clean and cozy rooms to the gorgeous views, plus easy access to the M1, this was the best choice. The staff were so friendly that by the end of the week, they felt like family.
The food was always delicious and top notch for quality and variety - everything from local staples to international favourites. And you must try the Sunday Carvery to get a real taste of England (but make sure you come hungry and leave room for dessert)! The dining room and lounge are very inviting with their modern yet rustic decor and we enjoyed many evenings hanging out in the lounge with drinks from the bar, taking in the friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
While I am sad to leave England I know that I will definitely be back for a stay at Twin Oaks.

We had our daughters wedding here Saturday 27/05/2023 but we all arrived on the Friday . The whole thing has been fantastic. The food was amazing, from pizzas and chicken wings on the Friday night to the breakfasts and the three courses for the actual wedding. The rooms are so spacious and even on the wedding day housekeeping were asking if we needed anything as people got ready. All the staff went above and beyond to make the perfect day especially Megan. So pleased we chose Twin Oaks hotel as our venue

We had the most lovely lunch today on our first visit to this Hotel. The bar area is very welcoming with comfy sofas and the staff very welcoming. The food was excellent and their lunch club menu was such good value at ÂŁ14.95 for 3 delicious courses. We would absolutely recommend and will definitely visit again.

I am a Parkinson’s coordinator for the Chesterfield and district group and I booked our annual Christmas lunch for 32 people at Twin Oaks this year but never again. After several phone calls explaining the nature of our visit and the difficulties we have as a group with Parkinson’s sufferers physical and mental restrictions I was assured they would be able to cater for us. On arrival I walked into an undecorated (Christmas), empty very bland looking restaurant. There were two tables of 16 at the far end of the restaurant extremely close together, with virtually no room to move, remember I’d explained our members were disabled and their mobility impaired. The staff could not serve the table properly and we had to pass food along the table another safety issue with disabled guests. Nobody could get up from the table without everyone else moving apart from those sitting at to top end of the table. It was a very uncomfortable situation, we did mention this to the waiting staff at the time. The food was average at best with the roast potatoes almost inedible, several of our members could not cut them, also mentioned to the staff on the day. The desserts were the best part of the meal. Members complained the tea and coffee were also cold, staff told. On the whole the experience was extremely disappointing and as the person who booked it I feel responsible and terribly let down. I asked to speak to the manager, who was also the chef and gave him all the feedback and more as I feel you should always speak to the person in charge face tot face. He listened and said they would learn for next time, unfortunately there won’t be one.

Really poor experience unfortunately. Food is mediocre, An abundance of staff just stood around chatting, overall average. We sat on a table which was almost as wonky as a donkey with three legs. We were offered some coasters when we raised this with a staff member which didnt solve the problem. For a short period of time we asked for our gravy and drinks to be put on a separate table to avoid wearing them. Eventually we were offered another table which was only a little bit better (Still on a slant and wonky) The table we moved from another couple then came in and were shown to the same table and had the same issue, and then they were offered to move also. What was very disappointing was when a young blonde girl with glasses who must have been a manager sat down at the table (Before the other couple did so after us) and went "Theres nothing wrong with it" On the way out we mentioned this to reception and was greeted by a young lad going "Well im not being funny but we are moving the tables around all the time and these things happen" Almost as if if it was a rehearsed answer commonly given to a popular question. Food was average, Stuffing balls you almost needed a carving knife to get into them. Real shame, Hopefully we caught it on a bad day but wont be returning.

The standard of customer care in this establishment was outstanding from the moment we checked in until the second we left. We would like to give particular credit to the young lady (Sarah?) working behind the bar on Thursday 21st April who was pleasant, helpful and efficient and who we saw dealing with a difficult customer with great courtesy.
We ate both dinner and breakfast here. The food was very enjoyable and portions were more than adequate. They were very flexible; when we wanted a side order as a starter, they were happy to accommodate us.
The setting of the hotel is very “quirky” with some of the rooms (including the one in which we stayed) being placed in old miners’ cottages.
Everywhere was very clean.
The location of the hotel is perfect for those who are travelling on as it is very close to the M1. Despite this proximity, the rooms are free of the traffic noise that might be expected.

First visit for many years. The hotel was a convenient meeting point with our friends. Checked in with the restaurant and asked to grab a drink in the bar area, and we'd be fetched through into the restaurant. Bar area was quite busy but the staff quickly delivered our drinks order. The temperature was slightly cool in the bar area. We were called through to a very busy restaurant area. The tables were a little cramped together, so much so that I had to stand up to enable the person on the next table room to get up for his carvery. Needless to say I had to do the same when he returned and also when he had finished his meal. The 'chef', or whoever it was serving the carvery, obviously didn't want to be there, bordering on miserable. Completely baffled why the plates aren't warmed, the food itself isn't hot, but with cold plates everything cooled very quickly. One good idea is that the gravy is brought to your table. The condiments bowls were mostly empty, have to say that most carvery establishments I've visited are guilty of not keeping them topped up. The meat offerings were ok, the beef was slightly overcooked to my liking, the vegetables on offer were a bit 'school meals'ish', the Yorkshire pudding was tough and the stuffing balls pretty solid. It was edible but at ÂŁ12.50 I don't think it's value for money. There are a couple of other establishments close by that offer better quality. We saw the sweet offerings being brought out. They looked quite small portions for ÂŁ6.95, so we didn't partake. Not somewhere we'll be rushing back to I'm afraid.

I’ve often passed this hotel as live nearby , but never been in until a few nights ago when attending a Wedding reception. Wow!, I had no idea how well this hotel is set up for functions. A superb marquee, well heated and decorated beautifully held the guests in comfort for the evening. Really good service from all the staff, including the owners who were overseeing the event. The catering was of a very high standard and professionally served. Thoroughly recommend this place for any celebration

Very handy for M1 and beautifully refurbished. Staff are great and food is very good - despite Covid restrictions they have handled it very well. However, the beds are so hard I have ended up folding the duvet as much as possible and sleeping on top!! Also, toilet paper is the cheapest you can buy - bring your own quilted! Shame as it has made me stay elsewhere due to the beds. Nothing mattress toppers won't solve
