We stayed three days at Artic Panorama Lodge. As we arrived Christmas Eve we were picked up by our host Svein personally by boat. We will never forget the marvellous experience we had. The kitchen was superb, including local specialities such as lingelberry sauce or elk. Similarly the food was haven for all tastes and preferences, including vegan. We stayed in a cabin and had a wonderful view to the fjord and lake. The rooms were clean, cozy, and large. The staff and owner of the Lodge always made us feel welcomed by sharing their local knowledge and stories about living near the artic. It was due to them that we had a wonderful Christmas. Also, we went on a whale-watching trip where the effort to spot whales was rewarded. In addition to activties, there is always chances to rest, e.g. with a outside jaccuzi, the sauna, or massage treatments. We will forever remain grateful to Artic Panorama Lodge, which is a haven for all wildlife enthusiasts. Thank you Svein, familiy, and staff. This family run operation, more than just a simple bed and breakfast, really caught us by surprise and charmed the heck out of us. On a remote island in Lyngenfjord called Uløya, it is IMO one of the best Norwegian getaway spots one could possibly wish for. There is a regular and inexpensive ferry service to the island. In fact, if one opts not to take a car, the ferry ride is FREE and the proprietor, Svein, is happy to pick you up in the shuttle van from the ferry quay. For you Norwegian readers, this place reminds me of a more luxurious but equally charming version of Himmelblå. It is a small "hotel" with very nice cabin rooms (not at all like a rorbua or camping cabin). These are nice, clean, resort class hotel rooms with all of the amenities (wifi, cable tv, coffee maker, heated floors, HUGE bathrooms, and mini-fridge). The cabins have spectacular views of the fjord and I suppose in the winter one can watch the aurora borealis. There are also several no-view rooms inside the main building, which I heard was converted from a school. The main building is the star of this operation. The lobby is warm and rustic, and one is greeted by, the fully stocked bar. I am not exaggerating, the bar has some really unusual and exotic drinks from around the world. From this cozy and inviting room, one enters the main hall which includes the fireplace and dining table. This huge room is sub-divided into nice comfortable furniture clusters where one can lounge, relax, and converse. The dining table runs the entire length of the room along the spectacular, panoramic windows from which the hotel takes its name. The views are.... stunning, mesmerizing, awe-inspiring. I love that they let the majesty of nature speak for itself. There is a nice high powered telescope available if one wishes, but I think watching the rugged mountains, the fishing boats on the fjord, and all the birds and wildlife all from the comfort of this pleasantly elegant room is overwhelming to the senses. I felt like I was allowed to just relax in someones very nice living room and I most definitely felt content and serene. Dinner is wonderful! Norwegian comfort foods and plenty of it. After the first course of soup, the buffet is open. Pork, lamb, meat cakes, roasted chicken, fresh fish, the most tasty potatoes, carrots, mashed peas, thick gravy, tangy berry sauce, tea, coffee and dessert are all available on a typical evening. Service btw was tip top. After dinner it was great to wind down with drinks. But one should know, there are two jacuzzi hottubs, a sauna with a view, a nice lavvo (teepee) with a cozy, bonfire inside, and a spectacular deck with comfortable lounge furniture. One can choose to be as private or as social as one desires. Overall, we were so charmed by the hotel and staff that we were already making plans for a return visit. This place is special. The hosts, Svein and Aud, make it a home from home. The scenery is magnificent, the food delicious and the outdoor activities well organised and great fun. We had a fantastic time and hope very much to return one day.

We cannot recommend a stay at the Arctic Panoramic Lodge highly enough. We were looked after superbly from the minute we arrived - Sven anticipating our every need and Aud cooking us amazing food. Nothing is too much trouble. There was an incredibly friendly atmosphere amongst the guests and all excited that each night we might see the Northern Lights. Against all odds on our last night we had 3 hours of the most extraordinary light display in the sky outside. A moment to always remember. The views and activities are extraordinary night and day and we have to come back! Don't miss dog sledding and snowshoeing.

I stayed with a tour group over New Years Eve for four nights and had a fantastic time. Don't let the apparent remoteness of the location dissuade you, this is a fantastic place to visit and Sven anf his team will help you get there. You can stay in the lodge or in a cabin - we were in a cabin which was generously sized with excellent heating and water views. While we were there Sven organised for us to go whale watching, snow shoeing and dog sledding but he has many ideas if these don't appeal. The food was amazing- Aude is a great cook - a good selection for breakfast with hot and cold items, hearty lunch and a multi course meal for dinner. There is a full bar and Sven is happy to recommend local drinks. We all had a fantastic stay and I would recommend this to others.

This is the perfect place. A small island with a divine view. Very clean and comfortable rooms. From the window offers a magnificent view. Homemade and very tasty breakfast. Well, the best thing about this place is of course the owners of the hotel. We chose this place at the last moment and there were no longer public boats. The owner came for us on his boat. The hostess prepared a very tasty and great dinner. Even in this house you can learn many interesting stories about Norway and the North. I just love this place.

We had the pleasure to spend 5 days at Arctic Panorama Lodge, a beautiful lodge on the island of Uløya in northern Norway. The lodge is completely immersed in nature, with a stunning view over the fjord and nearby islands, and is the perfect place to simply connect with nature and its sounds. We were there in April, perfect time for wonderful ski tours on Uløya or the islands around which can be reached by boat directly from the lodge. In winter the lodge offers many activities such as whale watching or snowmobile safari, and the northern lights are fantastic from here as there is no light pollution. The owners are extremely kind, helpful, and happy to share insights on the place and its culture and make you feel at home anytime. The food is delicious with typical Norwegian dishes prepared every day with fresh local ingredients (we ate cod caught the same day!). The lodges are clean, comfortable and have an amazing view over the fjord, to see a wonderful sunrise in the morning - directly from the bed! We already miss the atmosphere and beautiful nature and will definitely be back soon!…

The hotel is located on a remote island that you can access by ferry or hotel boat. It's a very quiet, peaceful environment, and beautiful in winter when covered by snow. We spent only one night. The most impressive was to have a good breakfast with an outstanding view , as the living/dining room opens on a very large window which is one of the most spectacular I have seen. This is why also I have chosen this hotel. Less impressive was the diner and the very small bed room.

Here's the big picture: The Arctic Panorama Lodge is a portal to an epic adventure - Northern Lights in the Arctic is all that is it advertised to be. Snow shoeing into tundra of Norwegian Alps and dog sledding are stunning. Just stunning. For me and my party of 4, this is what makes Arctic Panorama Lodge a once in a lifetime visit. And, that is the only time I've used that phrase. Here are a few things that were not mentioned by other visitors: - it's a solid 4 hour, twisting bus trip from Tromso to the Lodge. Our trip out took a bit more than 4.5 hours. The advertising mentions 3 hours but that is to the ferry and with perfect weather, which is not common. We traveled a long way to get to Tromso and felt the additional big trip. - Food is okay. Moose is an acquired taste - smell is what stood out for my partner and myself. Breakfast is fine. Sandwiches=lunch. (Consider signing up as a veggie.) I mention this in the spirit of traveler-to-traveler full information, which I very much appreciate. But here's the big question: Would I go to Arctic Panorama Lodge: Yes in a heartbeat. We may go back again.…

This place is perfect if you are looking for a vacation close to nature. The lodge is placed with a fantastic view over the sea and the surrounding mountains. The owner, Aud and Svein, are very friendly and helpful. The local food is great. The rooms (probably new) are comfortable and very nice and cosy. The living and dining room is set up lovingly. Arctic Panorama Lodge is a perfect place to relax. The activities are well organized with and hosted by friendly staff. In the evenings is always time to listen to Svein´s stories about the area and his experiences. We´ve been sad from the moment Svein dropped us off in Tromso again and hope we meet again someday.
